Essays are weird in a multitude of ways. For one, there is no right or wrong way to compose one. Unlike mathematics, writing and English in general usually do not have set guidelines and rules for how to create a group of words. One can break the rules and, as long as it works and sounds good, that person would be considered a genius instead of a neophyte. Essays are also weird in another way: their diversity. With a mathematics or science test (or even history test), every test received from a student is identical to the other. The answers are laid out and everything is homogeneous. With essays, however, a topic could be given to students and the essays can—and do—come out drastically different and unique. The voice and character of the student comes out in the essay, unlike virtually every other assignment without writing. Essays are weird. That is what makes them great.

All essays are weird or as I like to say it unique. Every single essay is unique because each person who writes them brings different things to a table. A kindergartener might have worse grammar than a businessman, but the kindergarten might have more creativity than the businessman. Each person is unique just like each paper is unique. Every person has different qualities because if we did not, then the world would be a dull place and each of these qualities show up in their essays. Personally, if I wrote an article and my mom wrote an article, I feel like my mom’s essay would be better because she has more world experience compared to me. So because of this, my mom would then have a unique essay compared to mine. Every person goes through different things in life like a loss of a parent, a pet passing away, etc. and each of these things that these people have to go through makes them a stronger person! When these people go through hard times, they can then tell their stories or different qualities to make their essays unique. As said earlier, ever paper is unique because the author of the paper is unique and if we didn’t have this uniqueness, then the world would be a tedious and dull place.

Essays are weird because not one single essay is the same. They’re all different. Each person composing an essay bring different thoughts to the table, even if two people are writing about the same topic. Added to that, there is no wrong way to right an essay. It’s not like math or science when you make an error, the whole problem is wrong. No, in an essay, you can make a error, and easily fix it without the entire essay being incorrect. Even more so, essays are weird in the fact that the length to be considered an essay is not rock solid. Meaning, to one teacher, an essay can be one page, but to another teacher, an essay could be five pages. There are many different types of essays to write: narration, comparison-contrast, classification, and more. If you think about it, a novel can be considered a really long essay.

I think that weird is a great way to describe essays. No two essays are exactly alike. There are always a multitude of variations of an essay, even if they pertain to the same ideas. Essays are strange because a person can use many divergent paths to express what their topic is about in a way of their choosing. An essay could be assigned or voluntary, for a grade or for fun. Essays are weird because some have cited sources and some do not, depending on the formatting or requirements. For an essay to really be personal, the students’ opinions are to be heard and considered carefully. The student is able to show how they feel about a topic in a creative, well-written way. Because there is no right or wrong way to write an essay, a person gets to freely write and emote their own specific views, whether positive or negative.

Essays are weird. Essays are very weird. Every essays are different because the person writing it is different than someone else writing the same essay prompt. Each individual has their own style of writing. Someone who is older and who have had more experience writing will compose an essay better than someone who is still learning. As your years go on in school your writing changes. You start out in kindergarten writing individual letters and words then slowly move to sentences and next paragraphs and after paragraphs, you move up in the world of writing and start composing essays with those paragraphs. There is no one way to write an essay. Everyone's minds think differently so there can not be a right and wrong way to compose an essay. Essays can be about anything there are infinite amount choices you can pick from to write about, you can compare something, contrast something or you could even classify something.

Essays are quite weird. I would say even the act of writing and reading an essay is pretty weird. There is no one set of guidelines and the possibilities of your essays purpose are pretty much endless. A lot of essays are meant to be persuasive, in order to be persuasive, you must add many other aspects to your essay. You probably want to make it somewhat funny to grab their attention, but not too funny or your audience will not take you seriously. Or you could go a completely different route and load your essay with facts and examples to help prove a point you are trying to make. Overall, there is no set in stone way to do things; and it is nothing like many of the other different types of writing people practice. You are not necessarily writing a story but instead sharing knowledge, persuading, etc. Unlike many other subjects we learn in school, there is no exact way to do it. Of course, there are some formatting techniques you must follow but other than that you are free to make it as creative and colorful as you would like, making all essay quite weird.

Essays are weird because they are a record of the author’s organized thoughts. Essays give us a look into the mind of another individual who can inform, entertain, or persuade us on a topic. To fully understand the thoughts of another, we must understand the introduction, body, and conclusion. Each of these parts to the whole are incredibly important and cannot be seen as lesser than another. In day to day conversation, thoughts cannot be portrayed in such a way that we will understand as well as if we had read them out of your speaker’s mind. However, when reading them on paper, the jumbled thoughts are gone, and the authors intellect beams through the writing. This is very weird to me because when I read my final drafts of my essay, I realize how much ability my thoughts have to prosper into something informative, entertaining, or persuasive. This ability is not always remembered when it seems that your mind cannot focus on any given task. To be able to settle your mind enough to go into the thoughts of another individual is a very weird idea.

Essays should be considered weird for multiple reasons. First of all, there is no right or wrong way to compose an essay, as long as you are using correct grammatical components and construct the essay with your heart as well as your mind. Unlike many other subjects in school, there is no correct answer when writing an essay. It is purely emotional, and therefore a quite liberating task. After considering this question, it was also made evident to me that essays are weird because of their variation. Even if an entire classroom is given the same essay prompt, no two essays will turn out alike. This is because voice and personality are inputted into each person's essay to convey mood, theme, and voice. I think inputting one's personal voice into their masterpiece is one of the most important aspects when constructing an essay. A last "weirdness" component that I find within essays, is their ability to convey moods and themes in ways that approach the reader on a personal level. Having this connection in mind when creating essays is a powerful tool, and is a great way to approach the reader and make a personal impact on them. I have read many works of diction that have impacted me in such a way that I feel I personally connect with the author. This is a method I hope to incorporate in my essays in the future, as weird as they may be!

What is a creation that will never be exactly created again by someone else? An essay. They are each unique and have the power to change the world. An essay is a written personification of what a person believes and/or wants for the world. But not even the essay is as weird as the power we give it. Humanity, in its recent years, has proclaimed the pen to be mightier than the sword. Essays have proven to sting sharper than any previous weapon conceived. They can start or end wars, or prolong them, or end them before they were supposed to end or make sure they never happen again. The essay has this power because the human race has, as a whole, decided that an essay is worth taking time to read because anything that is written is crucial to know. And that is just weird. Of course, the essay is, in some way, responsible for this. It was not humanity that decided to place the essay on its pedestal; it was the power that an essay will always have that placed itself on it. And it was humanity that evolved enough to realize it. That makes them very weird.

In a way, essays can be weird. For one, creating any of them, no matter the length, takes up a majority of the writer’s energy. Simply, all this time and effort to make each detail of your essay perfect is substantially greater than the actual, final product of the essay itself. Not to mention, essays come from all sorts of imaginative sources and purposes. Each of them deals with their own background and story, their own bias. Which brings an even crazier idea of how similarly formatted they are; yet, essays are never exactly the same! By no aspect of the universe has there been two composers of writing who have written the exact same essay with the exact same purpose/language of writing. Possibly an obvious observation, the idea still perplexes me. To add, essays can also be weird because of their stereotypical being. For a while, I believed that essays were all meant for business and dull, tedious tasks at hand in the future. However, I’ve discovered that this is hardly ever the case. Although many businesses use essays, they are only a sliver of the population to the rest who create essays with strong influence and ambition. In the past, I would’ve never have understood how weird, yet awesome essays could really be once I found my own affiliation with them.

Essays are weird because they are all unique. Everyone has their own way of writing and different points of view. Some have different backgrounds; therefore, they may have knowledge in other cultures, environments, and statuses. Some are more experienced than others making them posses numerous stories that they can expand their writing on. Essays are weird because even when given the same prompt no two essays will be identical. Two individuals may have the same core idea but both will explain and have completely different reasonings behind it. Some authors may have greater grammar or understand literary devices better. As a result, their essays sound more fluent and interesting. For example, a Freshman's essay compared to a Senior's essay will be very distinct because the senior has more knowledge, grammar, and a better understanding of the English language. Essays are unique because they are not only to persuade you but they are also intended to entertain and inform.

Essays are a combination of many variables, each variable contributes to their individual uniqueness. This makes them weird. Essays are composed based on the criteria set by the teacher, a writer’s style, and the effort put forth by the writer. The main point and content of the essay is governed by a criteria that a teacher enforces. A compare and contrast essay requirement will naturally result in students comparing things in an essay, instead of classifying them. A writer’s style is what individualizes each and every essay. A teacher may assign compare and contrast essays, but a writer’s style and mode of attack of this essay is what results in beautiful uniquenesses. A writer could rely more on studious vocabulary, descriptive language, or varying types of sentences. A writer’s effort is the last variable in determining the end product of an essay. A writer could have absolutely no interest in the topic they are writing about, which leaves them with no motivation to write, and in the end a mediocre essay. If this writer would have chosen a subject they are passionate about, they can go on and on, being more descriptive, interesting, and thorough in their writing. With these tips you can now write "weirder" essays, making them interesting and unique.

One major reason essays are weird is because there is no right or wrong answer. For a single topic, there could be hundreds of variations in the answers. Each individual has unique thoughts and ideas that they use to compose an essay. An entire class of students may write completely different essays on the same topic. Along with variations in the composition of an essay, there is also a multitude of aspects a writer can use. Citations are used in research essays, opinions are seen in creative writing, and even persuasion can be utilized. The composer is able to decide the direction of their essay, without influence from peers. There are a few things that are completely independent of rules and influence and essays are one of them. The composition of essays is such a unique thing. There is nothing else in academics that allows students to have opinions, freely think, break some grammatical rules, and still be completely correct. One last component of essays that make them weird is their impact. Even though the intent of the composer seemed clear to them, each reader can take the message a different way. The readers make the writing personal to their own lives; therefore, they interpret the main idea on a personal level. The concept of an essay seems so ordinary, but when it is thought about on a deeper level they are actually very weird.

Essays are weird in many ways. Most of the time the hardest thing for us to do is find a way to relate the essay. You are typing it for a class and you are not very passionate about what you are doing. So the essay feels strange, you are supposed to put all this feeling and emotion into what you are doing. But honestly, you just want the grade and to be done with it. That is why essays are weird. They are full of what I like to think of as fake passion. Where a person pretends like they care about something but they really do not. That is why some people really struggle with doing much of anything in class. They do not want to feel forced to write something they do not care about. That is why an essay is weird, they are full of sarcasm and disgust for what they are about.

Essays are weird for multiple reasons. They can be based on personal opinion in any type of writing. Each person has their own way of reading dialogue or cited sources and because of that, they have a different view on the matter. Every student has a unique vocabulary and sense of style. This allows variations between papers that have the same topics but content wholly different. Also, the impact of writing on a reader makes essays weird. After reading an essay the reader determines the amount and type of impact left on them. Most choose to relate it to personal experience in their own lives, which brings up another reason. Somehow, no matter the topic or style of writing, the reader should be able to relate to the work on a personal level, creating this relationship through works of words. Now there are many reasons people write essays but the fact that they all turn out individualistic is what draws weirdness and fascination.

Essays are weird because they are just a bunch of words put together that relate to a topic. We sit down and spend hours upon hours writing them. Essays are just a test for us to show our composing skills and creative genius. We need to meet the requirements of said essays, otherwise, we get docked points. In theory, it should not be too hard at all to get a really good grade on these “tests” because of the openness of them. You get to take them home and do all the research you want to complete them. The reason people get lower grades would be because of their laziness or lack of effort. People usually get tested to show what they know but through writing an essay you can learn. You get to look up how a certain sentence works or how you need to cite a source. It's different from most other forms of tests or assessments. That is what makes essays weird.

Essays are weird in many different ways. They can be weird because there are various ways to write a great essay. There are no rules that form essays to become the same. In other classes, such as math, you work on one problem to find the only solution to it. Essays are a way to voice out your life (or opinion) without restrictions. There may be ways to create a distinguished essay, but, there is no way to make a perfect one… thankfully. Your creativeness can be written in ways other people may not understand; although, you will understand it. Now that is weird. The quirkiness of an essay just makes it all that more interesting. Attention is instantly grabbed when reading something that may be out of the blue. Essays have guidelines allowing you to compose a beautiful essay that sounds intelligent. They might be weird, yet essays are never-ending.

Essays are weird because almost all the time, the essay only makes sense to the writer. An essay is composed of a jumble of words that more than likely don't even make sense. It is very hard to read the entire essay because usually essays are not exciting and are about boring topics. Most of the time, students add random words in sentences to complete the word count, which adds to why essays are weird––they do not make sense. In school, most essay topics are about things that the students have no passion or interest in. Therefore, the essays will not be the student's best work, but will be a big grade in the grade book for them. I think essays are weird because English teachers base their student's literacy smartness on essays. Also, essays have a reputation of stressing students out to the point of crying over a paper. We know some many words, but yet it is so hard to put them into a 5-6 page jumbled mess that needs to make sense.

Essays are weird because each one is unique according to the individual that wrote it. There are so many different types of essays including narrative, persuasive, and expository. This can certainly change one essay from another. Even if the essay is about the exact same topic, the way each individual composes their essay will vary from another. Structure, word choice, and topic can make one person’s essay different from the next. Each essay is completely different and allows the writer to express themselves. To me, there is no right or wrong way to compose a essay, as long as the writer follows grammar rules. I also find it weird that what we compose for entertainment or for information, can be read by other people. By doing this we can transfer our own thoughts to other peoples and may or may not be remembered by many or few. Overall essays are weird because they vary from one individual to the next.

Essays can be categorized as “weird” for a multitude of reasons. The first of which is that each person interprets the essay prompt in their own unique way. No two people will receive the essay prompt and have the same idea as to what route to take in writing that essay. The perspective in which the student uses to write the essay makes their essay different from the next. Similarly, each person’s writing style is shown in every essay he/she writes. Another weird thing about essays is the fact that there are many different types of essays that can be used for a specific audience. It is almost as if essays have their own genres. There are argumentative, persuasive, informative, and entertaining essays. However, an argumentative essay can have traces of persuasive and informative techniques within it and many other combinations. The content of an essay is also weird. To construct an effective essay, you should use proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, pathos, ethos, logos, etc. The layout of an essay varies as well. Some essays are chronological, in medias res, flashback, etc. Although these formats/order of ideas mostly relate to longer writings, people can use these to change up their essays. Each of these things explain why essays are weird.

Essays are weird for various reasons. Each and every person writes essays in their own way. Some may even say there is no right or wrong way when writing an essay. No two essays are identical because if they were, it would be considered plagiarism. Every writer of an essay can express themselves through their essay. There is no designated purpose for essays either. Some essays are meant to persuade people, while others are meant to tell a story. Essays also can be used to show how much you know about a certain topic. Another reason essays are weird is that if you think about it, essays are just a bunch of letters put into words put into sentences. Those sentences then get put into paragraphs that make up your essay. You weren’t always able to write essays either. You first learned how to write letters and then spell. Later you were able to make sentences and paragraphs. Now you are able to express yourself in your writing using words that you never thought you'd know the meaning of.

To me, the weirdest types of essays are research-based. Students write thousands of words about a topic that we knew nothing about the day before. We are learning, processing, and sharing the information simultaneously. Essays cause us to become immediate experts on the subject matter and are a great learning tool. Essays can also be written about anything. From the ocean to asparagus, any topic can be analyzed and discussed through an essay. Some of the most weird and random essays often end up being the most entertaining to read. Sharing every thought we have about a topic is strange, but sometimes that is what it takes to fully describe the topic (and meet the length requirement.) Each person who writes an essay also has different experiences and ideas. Two people who are given the same prompt will write very different essays. They will each bring unique perspectives to their essay and share ideas that the other may not have considered. Neither idea is wrong; the differences are often embraced. Essays are weird in a multitude of ways, but these quirks bring out some of the most interesting essays to read.

Essays can be weird in different ways. An essay could be weird because of the topic it is about. An essay could also be weird because of the authors writing style. Someone could turn a completely normal essay into something very weird just in the words they use and how they use them in the sentences that make up their essay. Another example of a weird essay would be one that makes the reader think about odd things and why the author might use the words they did. A weird essay could also lead to weird discussions occurring when readers talk about the essay. The biggest reason for essays to be weird is because of language and how we communicate. This goes along with the example I already mentioned about the writing styles of different authors, but there's more to it. In the English language, there are different words that mean the same thing, so the author of the essay can choose which word they like best and use it in their writing.

Essays are weird because they have no specific way in which they can be created. An essay from one person may greatly vary from that of another simply because the person writing it has a very unique thought process for which they use to write. This is even true when the topic of the essay is the exact same. Both essays, even though they are different from one another, may receive high marks because an author of an essay can compose it any way they wish and still accomplish what is being asked. Essays are weird because they force the writer to think unlike what they normally would. Most essay topics are topics in which a writer has never thought of. The classification essay that we just completed made me think outside of my normal thought process and forced me to create connections to things that I would not normally connect. Essays are just weird compared to individual, creative writing.

Oren 1 said...

I think that most essays are weird in the fact that they deviate from how a person would normally like to explain a topic. If someone were to explain their essay topic in person, they would probably go about explaining it in a more casual way rather than the formal way that most people will compose their essays. While writing an essay, there are certain guidelines that people will follow, and there will be specific things that they must exclude, and if any of these things are something that they would normally add into their essay, they will have to modify their sentences in a way to fit the format, resulting in an unusual sentence structure. In my case, while writing the classification essay, I found that I used a large number of expletives, such as, it is, this is, and that is. While editing my essay, I found it difficult to reword some of the sentences because I wasn't used to thinking about them in any other way than the straightforward formula that I used form the majority of my sentences. Essays will make a writer think about their writing in a way they aren't used to.

I believe that essays are weird because there is really no way to correctly judge an essay. Yes, there is length requirements and certain aspects the instructor may want you to include, but no two essays are exactly the same. This makes it very difficult for one instructor to grade multiple essays. This is why essays are not my favorite form of assignments. They do teach me about my writing ability and proper grammar usage, but it is very hard to put a grade on something that I created that is different than everyone else's essay. I believe that essays are also weird because they show an insight into a person's reasoning and creativity that a multiple choice or short answer assignment would not show. There is no right or wrong way to compose an essay, unlike multiple choice where there is only one right answer. I think essays are weird because there is no great way to grade multiple essays on the same topic and they show one's personality and writing ability.

Essays are weird because they are very diverse in their characteristics and the way they are created. They can be long or short, detailed or simple, double-spaced or single-spaced, etc. Part of what makes a certain essay weird is the person who writes it. Usually, multiple people are writing about the same topic in a class. Each person that is writing the essay could have a different view of the topic so they are more than likely all going to be somewhat different from one another. Also, depending on the author’s skill level, the essays can differ in detail and difficulty. If you have a student that has a very advanced vocabulary, their essay will be more detailed and possibly difficult for the audience to understand. However, if you have a student with an average vocabulary, the essay isn’t going to be as detailed or difficult to read as the student’s with the more advanced vocabulary.

All essays are weird, unique, and different. No essay is the same as another, even the same person can not write the same essay twice. The main reason that essays are weird or different is that they are written by different authors. Different authors have entirely different thought processes and when assigned a topic not everyone will think of the same elements to include in their essay. Essay tasks are weird because the prod the writer to think in many different ways and open up their mind to new ideas. The classification essay that I just completed is in no way the same as anyone else's in my class. It is weird that people can take the topic of the essay and interpret it into so many different essays. I have a different thought process and ended up making my essay about different types of fisherman, a group of people who are not formally classified. Essays are weird because they force you to think outside the box about different topics and how you could include information that you are an expert in.

Essays are weird because they are so different and unique from one another. Each person has a different story and each person thinks in a different way. Some essays may even contain some vocabulary words that sound weird. I think it’s cool when people write essays that have a lot of intense vocabulary words and it makes it sounds a bit weird. Essays can be weird because they can contain ellipses, alliterations, reverse sentences, and the list goes on and on. By putting those in your essay, it may make it sound a bit weird. Essays are weird because each one will never contain the exact wording as another person. Each and every essay is composed so unique and different from your neighbor. Each essay has its own form and its own special wording to it. Essays are weird because they contain special vocabulary, they contain weird terms, and each and every essay is so different.

I am sure all of us have read and most likely written a weird essay. There are lots of things that can make an essay weird. One thing can be if an essay does not flow together. It just seems like the main points are bouncing all around and do not seem to tie together in any way. The organization in these essays are nowhere to be found and are just very hard to follow. Another way an essay can be found as weird is if it has no passion. The writer of the essay just sat down and wrote simple boring sentences about a topic they knew nothing about. No research was done on that topic and all the content found in the writing is basic knowledge. When reading it you struggle to find the purpose of the essay. Lots of the times these characteristics go together on essays. No passion and having nothing tie together really make for a weird essay.

Essays are weird because there are so many different ways to write them. Just like a math problem, essays can be written many different ways and still end up with the same meaning. Unlike a math problem, however, there is not a single correct answer for an essay, but many correct answers for a math problem. Essays are also weird because they include sentences that can be arranged in hundreds of different ways. For example, the sentence “Charlie drank the water from Leo’s water bottle” can also be arranged as “The water in Leo’s water bottle was drank by Charlie”. Both ways are correct and they still have the same meaning. Essays are weird but they are also fascinating. You can tell just by reading an essay how educated a person is by how many different types of literary terms they use in their essay. The more different ways they write their sentences, the more educated they are.

Carson 1 said...

Some essays are weird in the way that they are structured. The may write their sentences in an unusual way that would sound strange if people spoke that way. However, the strange way the grammar is structured creates a diverse experience. The body paragraphs could also be structured in a way that would be considered unconventional, but as long as it makes sense and grabs the readers attention this form of essay structure would be very effective. Other essays are weird in their subject matter. Whether the topic is obscure or just not usually written about, these essays make for a more interesting read than more conventional papers. In these ways, weird essays create a better experience for the reader and more easily grab attention; making them more beneficial to the writer. The concept of essays itself is sort of strange in the way they are read. Whenever you read an essay you kind of lower your expectations of what makes something interesting because if you didn't the whole thing would not be enjoyable.

I would have to say that essays are weird because they are all different from each other. Even if they all follow the same prompt, there would never be two essays that are completely identical. Even if every essay that was ever created had exactly 1,500 words and was talking about grapes, they would all be different from each other. This is because each human, who writes an essay, has a different and creative style that is used when composing their essay. Depending on how literate you might be, you might love to use vocabulary words that aren't well-known to the common English speaker. For essays that require you to use more creative thoughts, you might write an essay that can be seen as "weird" to others but special and important to you. Some people also just have a natural skill for writing essays. There are people who can type for hours on end on their essay, never hesitating to think about if they even have the minimum requirements of their essay accomplished. Whether you are proud and disappointed about how your essay turned out, you can at least say that it isn’t the same as anybody’s else because you have a different, creative, style that was used when composing your essay.

Essays are weird because of how many different ways there are to write them. There is never really any restrictions on the content of an essay, so there is an incredible amount of different things to write for one topic. With the essays that we have done for class, there has been no given topic to write about, so the limit of ways to write an essay like that is only a person's imagination. Everybody has very different creative talents and writing styles, so are able to write very differently from anybody else. People are able to make their own liberties when writing depending on their different abilities. For someone who is an experienced and talented writer, they will write with more elaboration and with more variety in their words. For someone who is much less experienced, they will write in a way that makes their writing seem more monotone and will use words in less of a variety.

Essays are weird or unique in a variety of ways. One reason is that no essay will ever be the same as another essay because each student brings their own ideas and words to whatever they are writing about. Another way that an essay is weird is that there is no wrong way to write an essay. You can take every essay you write and add your own “spin” to it. Even if students are writing about the same topic, their essays will be entirely different because each student has their own way to go about writing their essay and making it the best they can be. There is not certain rules or guidelines you have to follow (unless created by your teacher or professor). You can write about anything you want and however you want. You can classify things, compare two or more things, and even write essays for money! Essays are unique and weird because there is not exact way to write it and you will never do the same essay more than once!

Essays are weird in many ways. Essays allow for creative freedom, which is something many problems do not allow for. Many essays about the same topic will be different because not only can the writer write how they want, they can add personality to them. This is different from many problems in school, where there is usually only one answer. Especially in math, one has to follow a certain process to get a certain answer. In an essay, there are many ways to reach many different answers. They are also weird because generally, you can write about a topic you know nothing about and still create a great essay. Through research and knowledge of the English language, you can create an essay that not only looks good but makes sense too. In school, not many things allow for actual creativity, and something that does is not commonplace, one could even call it weird. Essays fall into this zone of weirdness.

Essays are a weird way of composing thoughts into words. No essay is going to be the same as another because everyone has different opinions and life experiences that got them to where they are. If a group of people has to write an essay over the same topic, there would be multiple different views. With our classification essays, if two people wrote about the same topic, they probably wouldn't have had the same classification types. Throughout history, there have been millions of essays written, but not one has been identical to another. There may have been supporting essays, but it is not an exact copy. Essays are also weird because they come in many different forms. An essay can be composed in ten pages, one page, or even half a page. I believe that essays are a good format for writing because possibilities are endless for topics or essay lengths. As long as your opinions and thoughts are well explained, your essay is complete.

Essays are weird because they are all very different. Each and every essay is different from the last. For example, one essay could be about dragons, while another essay can be about tigers. The prompt could have said write a 500-word essay about the animal you wish to be, but people can interpret that in different ways. However, if you think about it nobody wants to read the same essay from ten different people, so it is a good thing that people write weird essays. Essays can also be weird in the way that they just do not work. You might be struggling with writing a certain sentence. The words just will not fit together the way you had planned in your head. Sometimes a whole paragraph will not work. You could have nine perfectly written sentence, but they might not make a paragraph that people can understand. There are many ways an essay can be weird including them all being different and having weird sentences or paragraphs.

There are many reasons why essays are weird, they are hated by students and are marginally different from your normal school assignments. But, why are the hated so much and how do they differ from other assignments? One reason is that essay questions don't have a concrete answer and rely mostly on the writer's thoughts and opinions as well as facts to back them up. Students hate the fact that they have no idea if they are doing an assignment right or if they are doing it wrong and essays are an amazing example of these types of problems. An essay also usually has a required limit making it so that the student has to look up additional information to go along with their opinions which take up more of their time. In reality, if you know how to set up an essay and make it clear and cohesive then you shouldn't have too many problems with essays.

Essays can be weird when you really think about it. First of all, an essay is basically like someone talking to you for a very long time, and you do not get a chance to reply to them at all. They are almost like a lecture. An essay is usually composed to be five or more pages long, having hundreds or thousands of words, so it is like someone is talking to you but you do not get to speak until the end. Not only that, but every essay that you read will have some minor differences than others, even if they are by the same person or the same subject. Some essays can be written on the same topic but they will never have the same writing style or tone. Take my sister, Caitlynn, and I for example. Our parents have said more than once that we have the same intelligence level, but somehow, my essays are always more interesting to proofread. They say that I have a more creative writing style than my sister, who has a common template that she reuses for every essay she writes. Everyone has their own personality that they will compose with, making every essay unique.

Essays are weird. Why are essays weird? Every single essay is individually unique. There is no right or wrong way to compose an essay. To break down an essay, start at the beginning. The topic options for essays are limitless. You can literally choose to write over anything. After deciding what you are writing about, you decide what your opinion on the subject is, are you trying to defend it or attack it, or are you attempting to persuade people to think like you. This another reason essays are weird, you can write about limitless topics in many different styles. You can break it down even farther yet, down to individual words and sentences. The English language is very strange and complex. You can arrange words in countless ways to convey the same meaning of the sentence. You can say "I like dogs" or you can say "I tend to prefer the company of mans best friend, the furry companion, the dog." Both mean the same thing but are said in very different ways, so different you get a different feeling from it. This is why English is strange, and essays are weird.

There is no right way a person can write an essay and no essay will ever be the same. This is what makes essays weird. There are so many different kinds of essays and different ways to go about writing essays that it makes it hard to determine if one essay is better or worse than another essay. Unlike solving a math problem, performing a science experiment, or conjugating verbs in Spanish class, there is more than one, (in fact thousands) way to write a flawless essay. Essays are weird but in a good way because each essay can be so unique and express a variety of different points so well. Essays are able to make any person an author which is also weird but this is one of the many things that makes them so cool! Essays can also express views, thoughts, beliefs, and ideas that a person may have.

There are many reasons as to why essays can be considered weird. For example, there is no right or wrong way to compose one. Each composed essay is contrastingly different from another; they convey the thought process of the author who wrote the essay. Essays represent the singularity of an individual because no two people could ever write the exact essay word for word. In addition, essay topics can range from animals to ancient artifacts; there are a billion topics that can be selected. Experience is another factor that contributes to the thought of essays appearing to be weird. There would be major differences of an essay written by an adult while comparing to a second grader. First, there would be differences in the grammatical stance because that is the age when children are first being exposed to vocabulary and the rules of grammar. Second, an adult has had more experience with people and life situations that a child may not understand of since they are so young. All of the previous examples listed are reasons as to why essays are considered weird.

I think essays are weird in many ways. If you are writing essays for English teachers, it is expected that you have a thesis followed by paragraphs for each item. They also want you to add things in that you are learning in class or words you get from a vocabulary book. An English essay should be detailed and extensive in order to explain yourself thoroughly. On the other hand, writing an essay for a history teacher is different compared to an English essay. History teachers want you to keep your papers short and to the point. They want facts instead of flowing paragraphs. You should still have a thesis and paragraphs for each item, but the main difference is the length of the essays and how they are composed. Essays are weird because there are many ways to write them and many different types. One essay can be written in ten different ways.

Essays are in many ways weird. In this day and age, it seems almost anyone above the age of 13 can take out a pen and a paper, and begin to write any kind of essay their heart desires. In the earliest centuries of earth writing was mere pictures to tell a story, slowly over time those picture became hieroglyphics, and those hieroglyphics became words. Words that can now be put on display for the entire world to see with the click of a button. Essays can be informative, persuasive, entertaining, etc. People now have the ability to share whatever they want to whomever they want. To us, this is not strange or weird; if we were to time hop, the fundamental ideas of an essay would seem overwhelming and odd. The large sums of knowledge it takes to write an essay and the thought that must be put into it beforehand would be unparalleled to anything they would have ever known.

Essays are weird because of the different composers. With different people come different writers, and in turn, different essays. While using the same 26 letters in their words, each and every writer has a different approach to composing his or her story. Though given the same prompt in writing, it is fascinating how all of the writers can create something so unique with a different effect. When reading, one can tell how educated and motivated an author is by the words and terms that he or she uses, whether that is using a hypophora, or big, sophisticated words. Through writing, different opinions can be expressed by different people. It is strange to think that almost everyone has a different opinion and approach to all topics, including this blog task post. We all read the same question Mr. C has posted, but will think about it differently. Some may answer in a long, elaborate way, and others may not even agree with the suggested prompt. This shows that all individuals are unique, as they contain different ideas within their minds, shown through the composition of their essays.

Essays are odd in many ways. The idea of essays are weird and the process of creating them is also weird. An essay is a story created to inform, persuade, and many more things. These ideas are different between every person as each human creates different stories in their minds. Essays can come from prompts in order to spark ideas and give direction in which the essay should be constructed. It is weird because you are controlled and not controlled. You are confined to specific ideas and structure with the prompt, but you can literally write about anything. The process of creating essays is weird. Following a prompt and instructions to fulfill criteria while still being creative. The language you use in an essay is more than likely way more formal than that of a speaking vocabulary. This is weird because it is like we are talking in a different language inside an essay and out. Essays are all unique and ideas from individuals all vary. Essays do not have right or wrong answers, but they have expectations, making them weird.

Essays are incredibly weird. It is strange to me that, through years of practice, we can learn to transform our jumbled thoughts into neatly structured sentences that then form essays. It is weird that we are graded on how well we organize our thoughts on paper. Essays are similar to art projects in the sense that in a whole classroom of students, there will not be two that are exactly alike. However, essays tend to be graded much more strictly, which is weird to me since they are both ways to express yourself and get your point across. It is weird that we can trade essays for money by writing about a specific topic. There are thousands of scholarship essays out there that we could write, and no two would be exactly the same. We are constantly thinking ahead in everyday life, sorting out our thoughts by asking ourselves things like “What should I eat for lunch today?” or “What days do I work next week?” but when we are forced to think ahead about how an essay should be organized, we get stuck.

Essays are weird on many different levels. Practically a bunch of words plastered on a paper about any topic one could possibly think of would be considered an essay. They can be all different genres: from fiction, nonfiction, narratives, biographies, and the list goes on. Sometimes they don’t really serve much of a purpose but to put our thoughts down on paper. In other cases, it’s to write about something that has already been written before but we are just putting it into our own words. In classes, essays are just a way for teachers to see how much their students really know about a topic or how to compose one in general. It is a different form to reach an audience. It’s crazy to think about because essays aren’t the first things that pop into peoples heads when they think about learning new information. Not to mention that essays can be any length the writer or instructor wants it to be. There are no limits except the ones that a higher authoritative figure may put on them. Essays are just classy ways to get points across.

Most people tend to think of essays as a beautiful masterpiece, as art. However, essays can be described as both beautiful and weird depending on your perspective. Unlike most skills, there isn't a range to measure your success with essays unless you are taking an AP test and even then, it is the matter of the grader's opinion. The weird thing is that people think you can master writing and you can't. Just like art, weird art can be good art and there really is no such thing as bad art. Yes, there is techniques and grammar you are suggested to follow, but it isn't mandatory and everyone has seen pieces called art that they don't think should be called art. Essays are the same. The greatest thing about essays being a skill you can't genuinely master is that every piece of writing and every essay is so different and can be so weird and still seen as beautiful to someone. There is so much originality that can be put into writing essays it can be as weird as you please by adding odd connections, strange metaphors, discussing unthought of topics, and so much more.

Most people assume essays are long blocks of writing about dull facts or statistics that nobody reads in their free time. Not all essays make you feel so bored, that your only option is to give up reading. Creative writers can make an essay unique, colorful, interesting, or even —weird! Weird essays are the rare few works that involve comedy, odd subject matter, contrasting writing styles, fresh ideas, and uses different words that grab the reader's attention. These essays are labeled as “weird” because they seem nontraditional, or too informal. These writings create vivid imagery that leads to the goal every essay tries to obtain: being memorable. You can read an essay just to be done reading it as soon as possible, and forget it minutes later. Weird essays are somehow preserved in readers minds because they are different than the other boring monotonous works. The usage of different word choices, different grammatical sentences, outside sources, and witty banter to give your message across can label your essay as “weird” or “nontraditional”, but also become memorable to the audience. Good authors need to know how to write formal essays with proper formats; however, a great author knows how to write both formal and the eye-catching weird essays.

Everyone has all written or read about an essay and thought that maybe it was kind of weird. There are many things that make up an essay and make it different from others. Essays are weird because they each a different sort style and are written by different people. In class, when are given an essay, you are given a topic to write about. But where you take that topic and what you do with it, is all up to you. It is weird because they all start the same but end so much differently. Essays are not just found in schools, but everywhere you go. You may use essays for job applications, or maybe use essays for a contest. Essays help to describe the individual that you are and define you as a person. As for reading essays, we can all interpret them in a different way. Each person thinks differently. When we read we may each take away a different message that a piece of writing gives. But all in all each essay is different and unique in its own way and it is all based on how we write and interpret it. That itself is kind of weird.

Essays could be weird in the way they are structured. A weird essay doesn't follow very nicely and seems to go off track of the main point of the essay. The writer might seem to bounce around from topic to topic. The sentences might be arranged differently so that the meaning is misunderstood. You could also take being weird as a good thing when writing an essay. There is not one specific way to write an essay and everyone's essays are all different. There might be specific guidelines for writing an essay but the content and writing style between everyone is completely different. Your different thought and opinions might be weird to others but to you, they completely make sense and are the basis for A+ work. You could be writing about the same topic just like this blog task and still, everyone comes up with their own unique way to compose 150 words about weird essays. I believe essays are weird because they show the creativity and an insight into the different thought process of every person. Even if you don't think you are a good writer you can still say they you have a completely unique style of writing that fits you and only you.

Essays are weird because you can have one essay topic or question and get a multitude of answers. I believe the reason behind why people classify essays as weird is because everyone’s brain works in different ways. Every person is unique so each brain has a different perspective of how to write an essay on a question. People have different interest and will write about things that not every person will get. For example, someone who loves sports could think of an analogy that would go right over someone’s head who has not watched a single sporting event in their life. The avid sports fan would consider that his essay is normal, but the person who has never watched sports would consider this essay as very weird since they did not understand it. Writers also have different ways they like to write and capabilities of writing. For example, a child who has just started writing is not going to be able to write something super complex, but they could write something with more imagination than an adult who has been writer for many years.

Essays are weird. Every year, millions of essays are written. Some are composed for an audience of millions while others are created only to be destroyed by the teeth of a paper shredder. Thousands of languages with thousands of words waiting to be arranged into infinite combinations, no two essays will ever be exactly alike. Essays are weird. They can act as an outlet for creativity, bringing a smile to the face of the author, or they can act as an assessment of knowledge, sending unprepared students into a trench of despair. The power of an essay cannot be underestimated. Essays have the potential to set a country free. They hold the authority to decide between life and death. Yet, most commonly, the main difference they decide is one between letters in the alphabet. An A or a B. Essays are weird.

Essay’s are weird for many reasons. For starters, no two essay’s are the same. This is because the people composing the essay’s are all different. Even though it may be about the same topic, each person is going to approach it differently. You can see glimpses of a person’s personality through their writing in their essays. Essay’s are also weird because of the freedom of writing. Even with criteria to follow, essays allow for a lot of freedom. This causes every essay to be different, whether in style of writing, topic, or just the types of sentences they use and the order they use them in. There isn’t a right way to compose an essay. There are many wrong ways, such as not following the requirements, but there isn’t one set way to write an essay. This results in a variety of essay’s from each person. If you gave a class the same requirements for an essay, no two essays would be the same. This is why an essay is weird.

Essays are weird because of limited restrictions that are set on writings. For example, in our class, we get to choose what to write about so people can come up with really weird ideas. Or in books, authors need something that will grab the readers attention, not just something truthful and boring. In order to be a successful and well-known writer, you have to be able to be creative and put weird stories into essays. There is not a set answer with most essays. As a writer, you can throw whatever you want into an essay. Essays are more unique then weird because there are no essays alike; even about the same topic. Everyone writes with their own styles and thoughts, making everyone's essay weird to an extent.

Depending on the essay, there may be various different types of oddities about it. Depending on your definition of weird, these oddities can be good or bad. If your definition has a positive connotation to it, it could be something such as standing out from other essays using better grammar or vocab. This is one of my favorite ways to be weird, standing out because you do something better than what is expected of you. If your definition of weird has a negative connotation, it might be using incorrect sentence structure or un-organized paragraphs. Having a paper that is so incorrect that someone can only describe it as “weird” is not something you should aim for. I prefer to think of weird in a positive way, believing that being weird can make you stand out or be noticed. I love being weird, and if you do it properly your essay can be just weird enough to get noticed by your favorite teacher, a good college, or even a newspaper.

One could make the argument for weirdness in almost every category. It varies, however, depending on the subject. Essays are no outlier in this statement, they are simply weird. Regardless of the topic of the essay, the delivery of the words is often different than how someone would just normally speak. Words in an essay are often more specific, complex, and arranged in a different way than a normal conversation would go. Several factors go into this, the main being that in an essay, you have a significant amount of time to compose your wordage, whereas a conversation is usually on the spot and time is not given to prepare. This may cause an essay to feel extremely formal, and without a relaxed flow. This feeling of formalness, however, can help in the message of the essay, delivering a more powerful impact with the words used. Nonetheless, essays come in many different forms, but all are weird.

Essays are weird because they can be written about anything or anyway. Limited by the mental strength of the writer, essays can be as weird as the writer desires. There are 171,476 words that can be used when writing these essays. The combination of these words is what makes all essays unique. Millions and millions of combinations are available when words and punctuation are considered. The rules of the English language are complex and confusing, they make essays weird if uncommon rules are used effectively. Essays are never alike, constructed by different people with different views. Even if two students write about the same topic, the essays will be different. Essays can be constructed in any way imaginable, they can become super weird or very bland. Writing essays are unlike any other thing in school, there is freedom in writing. Weirdness is judged by the reader, so all essays can be considered weird.

Essays are just one of those things that do not make sense in a lot of ways. Some people may even think weird. They can be weird in a sense of how they are composed. I sometimes think it is weird that essays are a thing that people do. Who thought just to compose words into a series of pages to convey a message? And who thought of all of the grammar and formatting rules that go with it. I also think that the contents of an essay can be weird. The topics presented may not make sense and you just have to roll with it or what you write may just have odd quirks embedded in it. I think that when writing to a friends or something informal, then using weird words is completely fine and maybe even encouraged. But, when writing scholarships or for something important then you should stray away from language that may come across as odd or unprofessional

Essays are a weird thing. They are basically a written report of what we are thinking. It’s interesting how there is a bunch of different types of essays and a bunch of different ways to write them. Yet, everyone writes them in their own unique way. You could give a room of 100 people and tell them to all write about the same thing, and everyone would have a different view or perspective of that topic. Everyone writes different just like everyone thinks a little different. Because everyone has their own way of speaking and interpreting topics, essay’s can give a broad idea into the human brain. It’s also crazy how essays, a paper with words on it, can impact lives. Essays don’t just give letter grades, but can also invoke change. They are a very powerful tool to putting our thoughts and ideas into a written report to share with others.

Essays are weird for a few reasons. The first reason is that essays written on the same topic by multiple people can end up complete opposites of each other. Everyone has different perspectives on topics that have been shaped by their individual experiences. Also, people have completely different writing styles depending on how they have been taught and the message they are trying to convey with that specific essay. Essays are also weird because of how many different types or ways to organize them. There are an unlimited amount of ways to compose essays depending on style choice, organization, topics, and many other variables. Another reason essays are weird is because of the fact that essays are one person’s inner thoughts composed an organized into a single paper that makes logical sense. Essays are the way we keep records of these people’s thoughts for many years and refer back to them when we need help to write essays of our own. All of these reasons show why essays are weird.

Essays can be weird, I write weird essays. Essays that can be weird may also be good essays. They can be good by having great composition and the order that the words are written, used, and expressed. Weird essays can be considered weird by their topics. The topics can be weird and make the reader feel weird just by what they are reading, not that the essay is bad in anyway it just is weird to read. Probably like this right now. Weird essays may be the best essays to other people because the people reading it may think that you are special, one of a kind, creative, and also very unique for composing such a weird essay that is surprisingly very good. Weird essays are written all the time and should be composed more often to change and persuade the readers that you are an even better writer for doing so.

Weird is a wonderful adjective to describe an essay. Essays are something that some people may see as common and normal, but I do not. One reason that essays may seem weird is the uncanny format of all essays. All essays can be formatted differently, written differently, and used differently. When an essay is beginning the writer must decide what format he is going to use and what type of flow he will use. One can use many different approaches to the flow of the essay. Essays are also weird because you can write to them about anything in the world. To one person an essay topic can be easy and they may feel like they can write forever, while other topics may stump them and not allow them to write very much. Although all of these reasons make essays weird, one reason stands above the rest. Essays of all types can persuade and change the minds of its readers. A well-written essay can change peoples views and even their whole lives. Essays are awesome because they are weird!

One word to describe essays is strange. Without essays, the world would not go round. Writing is a key-component in everyone’s lives. Have you ever read the newspaper? A letter? Watched the news? These are all essays— whether they’re written or spoken. Essays are strange because there is no perfect way to write an essay. Many people write their essay based on a certain outline they created before. There is no right or wrong way to create an essay. Of course, there are basic guidelines for meeting the requirements, but there is no such thing as a perfect essay. There is such a variety of essays between students, that you can’t really judge the best essay in the class, or grade, or school. Essays are all different because the writers are all different. We all think in different ways, so that explains why we all compose in different ways.

To me, the reason that essays are so weird is because they are a string of words that are meant to provoke a feeling or inform the reader. It is really strange to me that we have created a system with words that have individual meanings and putting those words together can create a whole idea. It also amazes me that somehow everyone learns what these words mean, how they work in sentences, their connotations, and ways that words or sentences can break the rules. The thought that we write down many words in a specific order to convey a deeper meaning and to get ideas to others is really interesting to me. Also knowing that the words we write down can take on a meaning that we may have never thought of or inspire someone to do more is really cool. The essays that we write usually become more than we ever thought that they could be.

Essays are very weird in many aspects. For starters, there are a million right answers or responses. A way that you interpret an essay prompt could be entirely different from another person. No two people would write the exact same thing, with the same ideas, same sentence structure, and same format; yet both could be 100% right. In a math or science class, assignments have right answers and wrong answers. In essays, there are good responses, and not so good responses; but no essay would ever be called wrong. Another aspect in which I feel makes essays weird, is how they tend to define a person. Most of the time, people are not afraid to judge you by your writing. In today's world, it is used as a huge measure of your academic capability. Maybe this is why to get money for college, you have to write essays instead of solving math problems.

Essays could be considered weird for an array of reasons. Firstly, essays are unique to every individual. The writing style, grammar, and emotion—all things that can portray one’s personality into writing. Also, for many essays, there is not definite/clear way to understand it. It is almost entirely based off the beholder. For example, many younger people despise the novel “The Tale of Two Cities”. On the other hand, critics and literary experts believe it is one of the best pieces of literature ever written. One final reason that contributes to the weirdness of essays is the fact that there is not definite way to write them. The most someone can give you is the requirements and the prompt, the rest is up to the writer. This is unlike other subjects like math and science where you have to follow a very specific set of procedures and guidelines to get the specific response or else it is incorrect.

Essays are weird because they are all different. No two essays are the same. A whole class could write an essay about fish and they will all end up different. The essays will be structured differently everything from the number of sentences to the format of the sentences. The weirdest part is the different types of essays. Some essays can use first person, other essays better not have an, I, in sight. Then there are research essays, persuasive essays, narrative essays, etc…) all of which have different formats to follow. On certain essays, you have to have a works cited page. Those even have different formats to follow such as APA, MLA, and Chicago. So many things have to go into an essay for it to make sense. Even if you gave multiple different people the same information to write with, the essay would still be different. All of these things together make essays and writing essays weird.

Essays are all different because the person that is writing them has a different story. Everyone has had different life experiences, so each story is unique. I think that it is strange how we write about different topics then turn it in for a grade. Even for scholarships, it is weird how we write and our essay gets judged and measured up to others’ essays. I think that there are other ways that students are able to show how smart they are, and not just by their writing. Other students may be stronger in other subjects or able to show who they really are in a more creative way. I am not a very good writer, I am better with art projects or items like that. Essays are weird because we are writing for a grade and not out of the love for writing. Some of us are not as passionate as others are.

Essays are weird, or unique, in many ways. For starters, an essay is never the same as another one. Even if the topic or question is the same, people bring different perspectives to the table and can interpret the question in a complete opposite way than someone else. People also have different experiences and can relate to different topics, making them have a different perspective than other writers. Another way is that there is no wrong way. For other subjects there are right and wrong answers but with writing essays you can’t really be graded on being right or wrong because everyone has a different interpretation. Because of not being able to be either “right or wrong” and the fact that they are never the same, essays can really show academic capability in the fact that you aren’t memorizing words or definitions or events, you are simply using your thoughts and ideas to compose one big idea.

Essays are weird. One could argue that the word “weird” can have several different connotations. Weird can have a variety of meanings as well. Synonyms for weird are: funky, magical, mysterious, and eccentric. All essays are different and unique. Some are formal, some are informal. Some are interesting, some are boring. Essays are just weird. They are all unique in their own way. Since every human’s brain works differently, they are all going to compose different essays. People will use different words, different sentence structures, and even different tones. Essays are also weird in the way that they are just a bunch of words compiled together for a specific audience or a professor. A student may type thousands and thousands of words to be read by a few people and, then thrown into a garbage folder for eternity. What a complete waste. He or she could have put hours and hours into that essay. Now it is in someone’s Google Drive all alone.

Essays are weird in a multitude of ways. Many essays are composed of sweat, tears, and hard work. Writers that compose artistic essays have dug deep into their imaginations to uncover; unleash their thoughts, for others to hear. Essays are weird because it comes every person has different thoughts which make each essay unique. They take lots of effort and a serious compression of work. They make you work at the peak of your abilities to show your knowledge. They allow you to adapt to different topics and discussions. The essay that you will compose can affect each person differently, which makes essays so strong. Every person has a different come about of how they write their essays. Essays are weird because they all can mean different things and have different interpretations or perspectives.

Essays are weird in many different ways. Most essays are very unrestricted in the way that you compose them. They may have to only be about one concept or idea, but one idea can go down hundreds of different pathways and various trails of thought. The beautiful thing about essays is that every essay is going to be at least a little bit different unless its plagiarism, of course. It is one of the only assignments in school where not everyone gets the same answer, but every person may be correct. It is so different from math or science and is easily the most creative way to think in school. Essays allow so much room for improvement in a separate person mind. While one person may believe that they are done with their essay, a new person could read it and think of twenty new ideas and changes to put into it to make it more interesting. Essays and writings are weird because they are never fully finished and there is always room for new ideas and improvement.

Essays are weird because they have a tendency to scare people. People may be scared to write essays because there are so many grammatical stylings and components that need to be taken into play if they want their essay to be written properly. However, people need to realize that there really isn't a wrong or right way to write essays. There are tons of different options on how to write or style essays, such as writing in first or third person or writing a narrative or informational essay. People should enjoy the art of composing essays because it can be a way for them to express feelings through writing multiple pages to form and convey a message. I think writing is spectacular because of its uniqueness. Everyone thinks differently and when they write their thoughts down and form it into an essay, it truly is a work of art. Writing shouldn't be considered weird, it should be a privilege.

Essays are very weird. There are many different ways to write essays and many different types of essays. There are narrative essays; these tell a story, usually about a real-life experience. Descriptive essays, which paint a picture for the audience. Expository essays which are mainly just to inform and teach the reader the facts of their topic. Lastly, there are persuasive essays which are used to convince the reader of something. Along with the many different types, there are many different formats such as MLA, APA or Chicago Style. Mostly these all just depend on what your teacher prefers you to write with. Sometimes there is a right and wrong way to write an essay, but some of the time there is not. Essays are what you can make of them. You have to be able to use your own creativity and imagination to think up a topic, outline, and structure of an essay. Essays are all different and unique in their own way.

Essays are weird in many different ways. Essays do not have set ways they have to be written which allows for each one to be different from the next one. Also, everyone has their own writing style so every essay is going to be a different kind of weird or unique. I think that if essays are weird it is a good thing because then that means they are not boring and worthless to read instead they keep you involved and wanting to read page after page. Essays are also weird because they can be set up multiple different ways depending on the subject and how you want to set them up which makes them all have their unique style. I think if essays were, all the same, there would be no point in writing them because you are just going to keep reading the same thing over and over which is why essays have loose guidelines because then each one means something different and has their own quirks about them. In all, essays are very weird because they have no set way to write them and each possesses their own personality and this is what makes writing essays so fun.

Essays are weird for a number of reasons. Just like a snowflake, no two essays are the exact same. They are all created from the different thoughts and ideas of unique people. Everyone has their own ideas to make an essay more engaging or interesting. Some might add wit, intelligent, or rude remarks in their essays to spaz it up. They could be long or short, and still be excellent. There is no right or wrong way to write an essay. Essays are weird because they can make a simple item such as a brick seem so much more interesting than it actually is, or rather, make the sun seem so much less important than it is. Your imagination can run anywhere when you are writing an essay. I believe essays really bring out the creative side of people and show what they can accomplice in writing. Essays are weird, I believe, because the weirder you make them, the better they are.

Essays are very weird. Why do we take so much time to write something? Sometimes we have writer’s block, and sometimes our words flow out of us like no other. Another aspect that makes essays weird is how you cannot go wrong. Sure there are grammatical errors and spelling mistakes but unlike other subjects in school, there really is no wrong way to write an essay. Essays are weird because they are all original. Essays help the writer express themselves in ways no other subjects can. In math, there is only one way to do the problem. In writing an essay, you write how you want to write. Yes, there are sometimes guidelines and topics but that is the only part you do not get to choose. No one person can come up with the same way to write and say the same exact thing as another person. Just like a fingerprint, essays are all unique and weird in their own way.

Essays are weird in many ways. This is because there is so many different ways to write them. There is no right or wrong way to write an essay. Essays are unique in this way because they can be arranged in hundred of thousands of different ways. The writer has full control of the content and information they are putting into the essay. They have the power to include personal life stories, factual details from different resources, and the ability to make up information if they would like to. However, the structure of the essay is chosen by the writer and how they would like to see it come together. Some writers will choose a traditional way of just using an MLA formatting, while others will put there own “spin on it”. Overall, there are many different ways to write essays. Each essay is unique and can be “weird” in their own special way in accordance with the writer.

I think all essays are weird because most are written by different people who have different styles of writing and different viewpoints on the world. The more weird and outlandish an essay is the more it stands out top people. Some people use weird vocabulary in their essays to help describe their ideas while some people are very concise while writing. It also can depend on the topic of how weird the essay will be, for example, an essay about how a zombie apocalypse would occur would catch the eye of many people just based on the topic. I believe the weirder the essay is the more interesting and entertaining it is to read. Weird essays may be easy or hard to follow depending on the writer, but they always keep you on your toes. Overall, the things that make an essay weird are the writers themselves, the topic they write about, the words they use, and how they write it. The weirder it is the more it will stand out to people and catch their eye.

Essays are not weird in the way people assume weird means. Essays are weird as in that they are unique. Every single essay ever composed has something unique or different about it. Some things in the essay will reflect the certain person that wrote it and how they act. They are weird because even if a whole class composes essays on a specific topic like sports, almost every single one of them is going to differ very widely from another. To me, it is crazy when you read through essays to see how every single mind works and to look at the similarities and differences that exist in other peoples thoughts. Another reason essays are weird because everyone is weird about something. I am very weird about sports like basketball and baseball because I love to look at stats and analytics to see how teams or individuals are doing. I go to the extreme when watching sports and love to know a lot about players and teams. Someone else might hate sports but be weird about something else like movies. All this can be shown in certain essays which make them weird.

Essays are very weird because they can be about any topic you wish. There are not any rules that you have to follow when writing an essay. All essays are very unique because one person is not the same to another person. It’s almost like fingerprints they may be similar in looks but the patterns or contents are very much different. Essays are also weird because they are never quite finished. There is always room to grow and critique your essay. It is almost like a never-ending story. The possibilities are limitless with essays you can do just about anything with them. Essays really make the writer dig deep into their feelings during the writing process and almost discover a new side of themselves. The writer may never speak such ideas out loud but they will write it down somewhere. Essays give people the opportunity to say ideas that they can never say out loud.

I would not say essays are weird but more interestingly different. When someone is composing an essay, they have the option of using multiple different word choices in one given sentence. If 100 students were given the same essay topic, there would be a very small likelihood of two students having the same exact sentence as each other regardless of the length of the essay. Essays in and of themselves are not weird, but the writer and his/her thought processes. Some students may choose to compose their essays in a highly formal manner, whereas other students choose to take on a more relaxed and playful sort of writing. The number of ways students can use wordplay and grammar makes each essay uniquely its own. Another perspective could be an essay as a whole rather than its individual parts. If someone who was a more formal writer were to read an essay of a more playful writer, the chance that they might characterize that essay as ‘weird’ is highly probable. As would a more playful writer characterize a formal essay as such. In terms of reading, it is largely dependent upon the individual that is reading the essay and how they believe an essay should be composed. I personally do not believe any essay is weird but rather one of a kind.

All essays are weird because not one essay is written in the same way, which makes them unique. All essays are unique because they are all from different people, writing about different topics. Even when writing about the same topic, every person would describe and write about something that another person wouldn’t even think about. When composing an essay, there are countless ways to get your point across, along with countless things to write your essay about. Every essay is unique to each person because one could have a past experience that helps them inform the reader on their point of view. Whereas a reader that has no personal experience of the topic they are writing about, could cause their essay to talk about something completely different. All essays are weird because every person has their own vocabulary and own personal backgrounds that shape their essay into something different than everyone else.

The reason why essays are weird can be found in their diversity. For example, If one class is writing an essay with the same exact prompt and requirements they will be only a little similar. Everyone writes with their own unique style. Different kinds of words or phrases come to mind and different opinions are proven. No two essay are ever entirely the same, because no two minds think in the same sense. Also due to different prompts with structural requirements there lyes even more room for variety. Maybe an essay is catering towards providing someone with a scholarship, therefore it needs to pertain to the person's past achievements and have a persuasive theme, but another essay might be for a history class and it needs to show off what that writer has learned in the chapter of that class while also comparing an outside source of new found knowledge. Essays are weird because they are all different and there really isn't a wrong or right, yet some are more fluent.

Essays can be weird in multiple ways. If every person is given the same prompt to write about, each essay is going to be different. In a way that is very weird that each person can have the same thing to do but take entirely different spins on it to produce their own unique essay. Within that same essay prompt, the whole organization between two peoples essays can be completely different. Take the compare-and-contrast essay that we are writing right now, one person could be writing using block organization and the person sitting across the table could be using alternating organization. Each and every essay is going to be different, just like every single person’s thoughts are different. This may be seen as weird but it doesn’t necessarily make them weird, but in fact, unique. Essays can also be seen as weird in the fact that they are a way to see how a certain person thinks and processes words onto paper. Each person is unique and so is everything they do. Essays are only weird because of how each human mind works differently.

Essays, compared to standard writings, are an entirely different beast. Essays demand a daunting proposition: the uninterrupted flow of thought. This is by no means a menial task. The difficulty of adequately writing an essay tends to accentuate the weird qualities everyone possesses. Constructing simple sentences leaves little room for writers to insert their personal tone. Because of the lengthy, artistic sentence structures required to compose an essay that is not entirely unentertaining, more of the writer can be gleaned through the paper. The creative liberty composing an essay entirely of your device provides is both freeing and intimidating. In my opinion, the genuinely peculiar nature of an essay is the breadth from which it is distanced from everyday conversations. No person communicates like an essay does; doing so would be uncomfortable for all parties involved. While essays seem unnatural because of their overly structured nature, this does allow an essay to convey even more reasoning and information than standard writing—an impressive feat.

I believe essays become weird when they do not start with an introduction and do not end with a conclusion. It just gets weird when it is just the body and it states why they believe in it and gives examples, but it does not specifically state what is about. The introduction of an essay is the part claiming what they are going to start talking about like an essay on a belief; you would have to add an introduction or your reader will read through, but it will be either too boring to finish or too hard to completely understand. The conclusion, on the other hand, is the part that they will read at the end of the essay to summarize what was just said or the closing statement. If the reader reads to this point of the essay they might need a little wrapping up at the end to remember all that was said to make sure the writer has given his message and this might include a statement to encourage the use of this advice in the reader's life. If there is no conclusion it is a cliffhanger, like the television episodes that have Rosana’s husband just got into a car accident; everyone does not know until the next episode, but if the series is finished like an essay without a conclusion then it just makes the reader sad, because they did not hear what you fully wanted to say and the point of your essay will hit a wall and not come across as smoothly as it should and makes it weird. For an essay to not be weird you need an introduction and a conclusion to support the topic you will present to the audience.

Essays can be described as "weird" for a variety of different reasons. For an essay to be considered "weird," it has to have something to set it apart from any other trite, commonplace piece of work. It must be unique. Every writer has their own distinct style of composition, and, in addition, every essay a given author writes has its own microbial nuances that tell it apart from others. These are involuntary quirks that an author typically has little control over. What truly makes an essay "weird" to a reader, however, is its overlying theme and structure. This is an aspect that the writer always has complete control over; it is the voluntary side of composition. Anybody can write a standard 5-paragraph essay; the best (or weirdest, if you will) writers shun this traditional method and think outside the box to specially style their work. Weird essays are superior, for they challenge the reader to perceive it differently.

There are many reasons why someone would consider essays to be weird. Essays are simply expressions of a person's thoughts and each is done slightly different than its predecessors. They contain various nuances that can help distinguish between authors. An essay could be considered weird if it was simply over a weird topic making the essay weird no matter how it is written. If one was to write an essay over how aliens are secretly living among us, it will be weird in nature even before it is conceived. However, the topic of the essay being written is not the only variable that could make it weird. The style in which the essay was written could make it strange as well. For example, if someone wrote an essay about different ways to tie their shoes but wrote it as if it were a Shakespearian tragedy, it may be considered weird due to the fact that the style of writing does not directly correlate with the subject of the essay. These are just some ways that one might consider an essay to be weird.

In my opinion, being called weird is a compliment. To be called weird is to say you are one of a kind, something special, and truly one in a million. The same thing can be applied to an essay. One person may call an essay weird, while another calls it brilliant. Often times essays are on a set outline: intro, 3 body paragraphs, and conclusion. While this is a common foundation, it can be boring. No one wants to read the same essay made by different people a hundred times with only a slight difference in each one. Writers can keep the common essay format while also spicing it up. Tell a story, use different techniques to display ideas, emotions, or be “weird”. An essay that stands out from the rest is an essay that will win. It may win a scholarship, an admission to Yale, or even just a good grade. Admissions offices that read thousands of scholarships merely skim them. If an essay is out of the ordinary it will be more likely to capture their attention and leave them wanting more. They will be more apt to choose you to be a student in their school because you have a gift, uniqueness like no other. Whether the topic, style, or emotion in an essay is what causes it to be weird, it also causes it to be remarkable. Essays are weird due to their differences. When people are unfamiliar with something they automatically associate it as bad, or their idea of weird. However, writing weird is writing right. If everything was written the same, life would be boring and we would not have the joy we do from reading unique works of art.

Olthoff: One thing about weirdness is that everything is weird. Just because one person does not think something is weird does not mean that someone else can not think it is normal. Essays are no exception. I think that essays are very weird. Essays are weird for a number of reasons. For one, there is no right or wrong way to compose them. They can be super long and complex or they can be short and simple. There are so many different formats of essays. You can use your imagination as and long as it sounds good and flows good, it’s good. Essays are also weird because they can be about whatever you want. Words in an essay are often more specific, complex, and arranged in a different way than a normal conversation would go. Even if you gave multiple different people the same information to write with, the essay would still be different. All of these things together make essays and writing essays weird.

Because of the large variety that is present between each individual essay, essays can be considered weird. This variety is present in the numerous types of essays and essay topics that are shown throughout an individual’s writing, as well as the different individuals writing each essay. Due to the individuality of each piece, essays could be considered weird. No two essays will be written in the same manner because no two writers use the same style and word choice when composing their essays. Even if two essays had been nearly identical in their composition, the reader’s interpretation of each piece will be slightly different based on their perspective and opinion regarding the discussed topic. Each keystroke or penstroke gives the author an opportunity to differentiate their work from another based on their own personal writing style. This rarity that is present in essays can be described as weird because there are few other works that will yield the level of originality that is possible while writing essays.

Essays are a strange concept when you think about it. An essay can be a short piece of writing about literally any topic you can think of. They can be written about anything from a mundane biography research project to a fictitious story of an alien living on a distant planet. Not only can they be written about anything, but no two essays will ever be identical—even if they happen to be about the same subjects. The author’s thoughts, feelings, and experiences help to shape an essay, which causes diversity among similar topics. It is because of this that there is no right answer with an essay. In the event of persuasive writing, the author is able to describe their viewpoint to others in an attempt to sway the audience. Although this style of writing is meant to change the view of the reader, it must be written in a way that appeals to all audiences. One of the strangest parts of writing is the idea of plagiarism… someone found your work so moving, resourceful, or useful that they want to pass it off as their own?

Essays are weird because every single one of them is different. Every essay is written by someone different and everyone has their own unique thought process. It would be weird if every essay was not weird because that would probably mean someone copied someone else's work. Essays are also weird because there is so many different forms of writing and not one of them is right or wrong when composing an essay. Essays can be any topic you can think of which can make some essays weirder than others. Even if you were to give our whole class the same topic to write about the information would be arranged differently in all of our essays. The uniqueness of your writing might not seem weird to you but there is definitely one person out there that thinks your way of writing is weird. Just like you think others have a weird way of writing, they probably do not think their writing is weird.

Essays are weird in a variety of ways. The composition of essays consists of many different thoughts and there are millions of ways you can write and compose an essay. I think the content of the essay all depends on how the writer is feeling that day, which can make essays weird. I believe that the content of the essay and the quality of it results from how the writer is feeling the particular day they sit down to write the essay. Essays can be weird because if every writer is writing from the same prompt, the essays will most likely all be completely different. Essays tend to be weird, especially in this class, because there really isn’t a set guideline to compose from. The freedom in the class allows for each essay to have it’s own twist and for each essay to become alive in it’s own way. Each person writes in a different way which can also make essays weird. Each individual person is so unique and the diversity is unreal throughout the world which can result in some odd essays. Essays can also have a weird twist to them because not every writing prompt is intriguing to each student and if not every student is enjoying what they are writing, they may throw a couple twists into their writing to keep the reader’s attention and to distract from the fact that they indeed have no idea what they’re actually writing about.

Essays are weird in many different ways. I think essays are weird because all of them are different. This is just like how all people are weird because all people are different. No two people write in the same way or think the same thoughts. English is different than other subjects because it does not have right and wrong answers. An essay cannot be right or wrong; it is all subjective. A terrible essay to someone might be a great essay to another person. Each person has their own thoughts that they write down in their essay. Everyone’s mind thinks in a different way. Each person also uses their own vocabulary and style of writing. I think it is a good thing that essays are weird because being weird is better than being boring. I think in order for an essay to be good, it has to be at least a little weird.

Essays. Words grouped in different sentence styles to convey a multitude of themes and ideas to others. Essays can come in all shapes and sizes depending on the writer. What's weird about essays is that no two essays are the same. You can have an essay conveying a heavy topic in favor of one side or the other. You could have an essay talking about how to make the perfect PB & J sandwich. The possibilities for essay topics are endless. I find essays weird because although they can be multiple different things, essays always have a certain professionalism within them. You can easily write a paper about dogs but if you were to write an essay on dogs, all of a sudden an air of sophistication is enclosed around that essay. In school, you do not write essays, you write paragraphs to form a story; however, as soon as you get older, those same papers can be called essays and immediately make the paper sound smarter. To write a good essay you need that intelligence, while still maintaining the youthful creativity from those elementary papers. Everything you have learned in English up until the point in your life where you write essays has prepared you for the level of simple complexity that is known as an essay.

Essays are weird because they are different. Each essay that you write in your life will most likely have different sentence structures, different types of punctuation, and different vocabulary. Each person could write an essay on the same thing yet they would all have different essays. Essays are weird because of all the different ways that you can write, and format them. Each essay should be unique just like each person because of all these different traits. Essays require more thought, process, and time. The reason that you must put more effort into essays is because they need to be unique, or weird. They need to be different in order to be interesting, and seeming of interest to the reader. Without having interest to the reader there is no point in the essay. So what I am saying is essays must be weird in order to have worth. Readers enjoy weirdness, so make your essays weird.

I don't think essays are weird. Sorry! It is language and expression. We have to write somehow, right? Essays incorporate both those aspects, language and expression. An essay is a long, organized way to give our thoughts on a top in a way that educates and persuades others. Of course there needs to be formatting! It's not weird; if there was no formatting then what would identify a good essay from a bad one? Formatting organizes what you want to say, what others have said, why you are saying what you do, in a way that states it clearly and is easy to read. The length of an essay is always on purpose. It's not weird that whom you are writing for wants your essay in this format, in this length, with this criteria. That's how you get your audience to read your essay, you do it right! And if you choose not to follow that, you can end up looking like you do not know what you are talking about, or maybe you can stun the world by perfecting something different. That is not weird, rather like I said earlier, it is expression, individuality.
