I think I will attempt to write an extended metaphor in my classification essay. I think it will spice up the essay and make it more interesting. Also, I think I start to think about an extended metaphor, it might give me jump start to writing my classification essay. As of right now, I have no idea what to write about, but an extended metaphor might help me. An extended metaphor could help someone else reading my essay. If I put an extended metaphor in my essay and someone is reading it, they could get an idea from my mine and turn it into their own. I do think coming up with an extended metaphor is going to be tough because I am not that creative. Maybe I will take my own advice to read your example letters and my peer’s letters to spark an idea in me. In my opinion, I think the classification essay will be the most creative essay we write.

I will attempt an extended metaphor in my classification essay for a few reasons. My metaphor compares toddlers to common animals. An extended metaphor allows for more description and a more vivid way of explaining things. It also allows the reader to get a better idea of the personalities of the children. Using an extended metaphor lets people use their own knowledge, along with the information my essay provides to better understand the point I am trying to make. Some people may not understand what I am if I use a large unheard of adjective but will understand if I compare toddlers to an animal they have common knowledge about. The bright colored descriptive words used to describe animals, can now be used for my benefit in helping the reader enjoy my essay more. I think any metaphor makes writing more interesting and using an extended one will make my essay flow more as it will follow one structure. An extended metaphor will greatly benefit my essay in a variety of ways.

In my classification essay, it will be very difficult to use an extended metaphor with the way my essay is built. An extended metaphor is a very good route to go in this essay but not the route that would work for me. I am going to use many metaphors inside of the essay. I will use metaphors to make my writing relatable to other topics and to give it some more life. I was going to attempt to use an extended metaphor but I made the bold decision not to use this great technique. I think the way that my essay is set up and formatted not using the extended metaphor will benefit my essay greatly. By using different metaphors in different spots it will add a lot of life and spirit to my essay. Like I said, I really wish that my essay would have been able to incorporate an extended metaphor but my essay will work better without it.

In my classification essay, I will be attempting an extended metaphor. I am in love with extended metaphors. I love how people can take two very unrelated objects and, by using an extended metaphor, associate them together. I love not only extended metaphors but homonyms as well. I will be incorporating both of these into my essay. I decided to use fans, the kind that blow air, with fans, the kind that like bands or sports teams. I personally find this to be very humorous and interesting to write about. Now, not only will they be similar in spelling, but they will be similar in their characteristics as well. I will be showing how similar these two nonsimilar objects are with an extended metaphor, making not just their spelling the same. I'm interested to see what my other classmates will think of my essay and if they will be humored by my extended metaphor as well.

In my classification essay, I will be using an extended metaphor. I chose to compare the different types of fishermen, there is the minivan, sedan, sports car, and the pickup truck. I chose to include this extended metaphor because it adds flavor to my essay; it is not just a boring old essay about something normal. My essay is something that I thought about and had to use entirely unrelated objects to relate different groups together. This decision is beneficial to me: I will have more to talk about and for a more vast audience to relate to. Extended metaphors will help me express my thoughts more clearly by correlating more than just saying that there is an anxious-to-leave type of fisherman. Instead, that person is a minivan because it is a boring car to drive and no one ever wants to drive it. An extended metaphor will greatly increase the creativity and relatability of my essay!

I will attempt to use an extended metaphor in my essay. I think it will get my point across better. My metaphor will compare young children in a classroom to people driving. When using an extended metaphor it helps show the comparison I am trying to make. I think using a metaphor can add some interest to my essay. People will be more likely to enjoy it if they can relate to either side of the metaphor. Children and drivers are very different but very similar at the same time. A child can't drive, however, the ways they act in the classroom are the same ways adults act when they drive. Using a metaphor also gives me more information to include in my essay. Writing about two things gives you double the amount to write about. Overall, I think an extended metaphor is good for my essay because it will provide a more interesting essay to read.

I plan on using an extended metaphor in my essay for a number of reasons. I think an extended metaphor will add to my essay and make it more interesting to read. Since I’m taking two completely unrelated things and comparing them, people will want to read my essay to find out how the two are related. Extended metaphors can be interpreted in different ways depending on who is reading them, and that is another reason why I am using one. One reader may interpret my metaphor in a way different from another reader because of their own personal experience or knowledge on the topic. That is what makes extended metaphors so interesting to me. I also think that using an extended metaphor will allow me to easily get my point across without having to spend as much time explaining each class in my classification system. It will be a challenge, but in the end, the extended metaphor will only improve my essay.

I will be using an extended metaphor in my classification essay. In the essay, I chose to compare the main four types of band kids. I then related the four types of kids to an animal that is a pet. These animals are the dog, cat, parrot, and fish. The band director takes the place of the owner of the pets. I chose to use this metaphor because I thought that it would be able to help me explain my classifications. Pets are something that most people can relate to. Almost everybody has one. Along with explaining my classifications, I chose to use a metaphor because it makes the essay more interesting. That and the idea that using a metaphor will put more words in my essay, therefore helping me to get to five pages easily. I don't think many people outside of the marching band will understand my metaphor, but I know that people in the band will definitely understand it. The metaphor I am using will make my essay a lot more enjoyable to read.

I will be using an extended metaphor in my classification essay. I believe doing so will increase the creativity of and help the reader better understand my essay. Including the extended metaphor will allow me to explain my classification more in-depth and more entertaining than if I would choose not to. I will be comparing sports fans to pizza toppings. Doing so, the reader may get a clearer image of what I am attempting to classify. Everyone knows pizza so it will be easy to relate to. Comparing cheese, pepperoni and sausage, vegetables, and pineapple to sports fans will make my essay more enjoyable to read. Instead of classifying the die-hard sports fans just as they are, I can compare them to the cheese on pizza. Cheese is always there. This adds a more flavorful touch to an essay that, if done incorrectly, would be rather dull to read.

I would like to include an extended metaphor in my classification essay because it helps the readers clearly understand the classification order that the writer is trying to inform others about. Hopefully, I will be able to do so correctly because if I do it incorrectly, then the audience will not understand the basis of my essay. Since my topic revolves around classifying different social media applications, I think that people my age will be able to understand how I am classifying Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, and Twitter. Due to the fact that each application is different from the other, in addition to its purpose, creating an extended metaphor regarding my topic will be easier to create. In addition, the classification is stated more clearly, so it is easier to understand and interpret. Personally, I believe that the more creative the extended metaphor, the better the essay will be because readers will be able to read about different types of classifications that they may have never heard of before.
In my classification essay, I will be attempting to write an extended metaphor. An extended metaphor is comparing two things not using like or as and extending it throughout your entire essay. I want to use an extended metaphor in my essay because I feel that it is important to use metaphors in your essay. By using examples and comparing things, it will help the reader better understand what you are writing. It also helps the reader connect with your essay better. The good thing about metaphors is that you can use them in a variety of different ways. You can use them to connect emotions, people, places, and a variety of other things. I would recommend that everyone uses or at least attempts to write an extended metaphor. It will definitely make their essay more appealing and better for the reader to understand it. These are the many reasons why I will use an extended metaphor.

I started to write my essay, The Anatomy of an Orchestra: A Sweet Surprise, with an extended metaphor. I compared the different types of individuals to different kinds of donuts. I was struggling with writing so that the two subjects could flow together. I found out that the extended metaphor was not required, so I decided I will rewrite what I already have to remove the extended metaphor. The examples from past students who included the metaphors were well written and creative, however, with my essay, I couldn’t find a way to make the two subjects flow together. Although using an extended metaphor in my essay would enhance the creativity and make my essay funnier, I thought it would be best if I left it out. To replace the extended metaphor, I am going to attempt to use more scenarios of these individuals, compare the different groups to one another, and use more words to create a mental picture for the reader.

I plan on using extended metaphors in my classification essay. I am comparing the different types of kids you come across when babysitting to an at-bat in softball. Doing so I think it will be easier for my readers to understand the different classes of kids I am trying to describe. It will also help people relate, because some people might not be around kids very often but are involved in sports so this will help them create a connection. An extended metaphor will also make my essay more interesting and captivate my readers. I will use good describing words to make the metaphor clearer and help the readers better understand my topic. I will show how similar these two completely different things can be with the help of my extended metaphor. I think that the metaphor I am creating will benefit my essay and add a unique touch.

In my classification essay, I will be using an extended metaphor. I am comparing the different types of students in the classroom: fall, winter, summer, and spring. I am doing this because I believe that by adding a larger comparison it will make each classified group easier to point and see every day. I also believe it will make it more relatable and notable for the reader. Here in South Dakota seasons change drastically, many people have certain feelings about what season it is. For example, when it is winter most think of comfy pants, watching movies, and snow days, this would be an example of a passive student. I hope that by making this connection the reader will easily be able to remember what kind of students there are and making it easy to classify them. This will also add a twist to my essay to make it stand out from everyone else's.

In my classification essay, I plan on attempting an extended metaphor because it really delves the reader into the comparison the author is trying to make. The more that one tries to extend on the comparison of co-workers and fruits the more that they are going to start seeing it for themselves and make other connections that possibly weren't said in the essay. It makes the reader more interested in what you have to say and join in the same ideals as well. The deliverance of how these connections are made is also important so that the reader doesn't get bored. If there are only lists in the essay that explain this is to this as this is to that the reader isn't going to be that interested in what your metaphor has to say. When writing my essay I want all the readers to be intrigued by what I have to say and make good comparisons that won't bore them while reading.
I am going to strive to use an extended metaphor in my essay. I think it will add a lot to the essay and keep me from going off topic. It will also help to make my essay more organized and understandable. The clarity of the essay will be increased and it will help to link my comparison better. Extended metaphors do not use the words “like” or “as” like a simile would. I think this will make it difficult to stick to using a metaphor and not accidentally using a simile. I will need to imply the comparison instead of directly stating it. Extended metaphors also help to compare two completely unrelated things and this is exactly what I need to do in my essay. I hope that I can excel in my goal. Without an extended metaphor, I think it will be harder to complete this essay, but more importantly, to complete it well.

Throughout my classification essay I do plan on incorporating extended metaphors. I am doing this for a number of reasons, the first being that I think it really provides a testament to the fact you know what you are talking about. To be able to compare something to a totally unrelated subject is astonishing and I believe it truly makes essays more enjoyable to read. Another reason is that if you can connect your topic to something else, it is more likely to stick with the person who is reading it and they are more likely to remember what they have read. The last reasoning is that it adds so much more depth and character to the essay as a whole. Being able to compare something to multiple things and being able to explain that comparison I think really adds a sense of character as well as giving it a chance to really connect or relate to some people. I do believe that some essays do not work with having extended metaphors, but I believe that an extended metaphor will make my particular essay stronger.

In my classification essay, I will be using an extended metaphor. In this essay, I will be comparing modern athletes to that of different bird species based on appearance and personal characteristics. I believe that the extended metaphor makes it easier for the reader to fully grasp the ideas that I am trying to extend to them. Instead of creating entirely new ideas, I have decided to take already constructed ideas and thoughts and tied them directly to athletes. This creates a new grouping while helping readers to understand what their reading. I also believe that this is a fun way to create grouping as well because it shows an entirely new perspective on two separate groups. The extended metaphor will be able to show an interesting link between two things that most people could never expect to be linked. The creativity of my essay will skyrocket with this idea because it allows me to think deeply into what binds the two groups and then figure out a way to express it to others.

In my essay, I will attempt to write an extended metaphor. I will strive to use an extended metaphor because I truly believe that it helps portray what you are trying to say within the essay. I feel that it is essential to use metaphors within essays of any kind because it helps the reader along by comparing maybe unknown subjects to something more common that they would be able to understand easier. Some topics may be understandable on their own but to ensure that your reader does not get lost or confused, they have that metaphor to fall back on. Using metaphors also help the reader relate to what the essay is about. If a reader can not establish a connection between them and the original topic, they have the metaphor to hopefully help them understand what it is that you are trying to get across. These reasons are the main one that I am using an extended metaphor.
In my classification essay, I am going to attempt to include an extended metaphor. The definition of an extended metaphor is a metaphor introduced and then further developed throughout all or part of a literary work. An extended metaphor includes extensive detail which entices the reader to continue to read even if the two things that are being classified are completely unrelated. I feel that writing with an extended metaphor will be good for my essay because it will help depict my message. I will be classifying my four favorite types of fruit to different types of people you will encounter in a school. These two topics are unrelated but I will be classifying them and in the end, you will find out that they are actually related. I feel that my topics are not too difficult to understand but some other topics may be. An extended metaphor would help readers completely understand what is trying to be portrayed if the topics are difficult to understand.

With the way my essay has been built, it will be very hard to include an extended metaphor within it. At first, I had thought that we were required to use an extended metaphor but I then found out that you didn’t have to. So instead I decided to go the route of using an alliteration. I am including four different groups to help represent the different types of people when it comes to doing homework. The names of my groups are the dreadful, dawdlers, dutiful, and diligent. Then I am going to go into detail about each group and give examples of them. I feel like if I included an extended metaphor within my essay it would make it very confusing and hard to follow. But hopefully having that alliteration in there will still make it very enjoyable and interesting to the readers. Although I think using it would be a great idea for other essays I don’t think it's going to be able to work in mine.

In my essay, I am going to use an extended metaphor that relates to my topic. I am comparing workers in the hospital to organelles in a human cell. Using a metaphor that relates to each other is a good way to get people thinking about how the workers and organelles relate to each other and it will paint a good picture in the reader's mind. Using organelles is closely related to the hospital staff because they both have jobs and function in a certain way. Relating the two and describing both their functions and how they relate is how I am going to use the extended metaphor in my essay. Extended metaphors, in my perspective, helps make the essay more interesting to read because it allows you to think in a different manner to allow you to understand how the two subjects are being related to each other. Even though you do not have to use an extended metaphor, I think it would be beneficial to other students to use an extended metaphor in theirs to add more vivid effects.

In my classification essay, I will be attempting an extended metaphor. My metaphor will compare siblings or kids to types of weather. There will be the Tornados, the Breeze, the Rain, the Thunder, and the Sunshine. By comparing my subjects to things in the world that everyone knows about, people will be able to relate to it more. I think it will help me get my point across and make it more interesting to read. People will most likely enjoy it more if I do use an extended metaphor. Using an extended metaphor will show my knowledge on the topic and show that I know what I am talking about. By using an extended metaphor, it will add more character and depth to my classification essay. It will make the essay much more interesting and entertaining to read. I am looking forward to writing this essay and seeing what people think.
I am going to try and make my essay one large extended metaphor, hopefully, with more metaphors throughout. The essay will be comparing the attitudes of techies in a scene shop to different age groups. These age groups range from toddlers to adults, each having a unique name associated with them. Examples of this would be urchins for toddlers and prep for high school students. The reason I am doing this is to more clearly illustrate the different types of techies. Using this extended metaphor helps people picture what the environment of a scene shop my look like. If I can get people to picture different age groups playing with power tools and trying to build beautiful things I think they will better understand the in’s and out’s of technical theater. I think that this extended metaphor will also bring some comedy to the essay, as imagining various age groups playing with power tools is somewhat comical.
Bickley Pd.5
My classification essay will be based around an extended metaphor. I think that an extended metaphor makes the essay more intriguing, as well as more relatable. Essays that use other items or names to classify a certain person, group, etc. are much more interesting to read in my opinion. This allows the reader to better understand your message, as well as add some of their own content to your metaphor. They may have preconceived notions about those particular groups, but just not know it yet. For example, if you are talking about different friends one might have throughout high school, many ideas flood into your mind. Once the author addresses those items, the reader can better relate to the essay by agreeing or disagreeing with the author’s ideas. I am going to try to use an extended metaphor throughout my essay dealing with the types of children who are outside during recess.
I will try to use an extended metaphor in my essay because I think it will help, fully grasp the concept I am trying to show. Metaphors are a great way to help paint a picture in someone's mind or connect them to an idea using either everyday items or more complex thoughts. I am comparing plants to people's behaviors and persona in my essay. I hope to provide a different view of how plants and people are connected using alliteration titles to represent adjectives for people's behavior. By using words that describe plants and/or people; words like prickly, poised, pretty, and poisonous. I hope to provide better understanding of the types of people in the world by using creative descriptions to represent the metaphor I am describing. By successfully using an extended metaphor I hope to broaden my essay. Metaphors are extremely useful in captivating a reader’s attention and also helping them think more outside of the box.

I will DEFINITELY be using an extended metaphor in my essay. In my essay, I am comparing my co-workers to colors. They are each a shade of red. I did this because Target is clearly associated with the color red! They are Cardinals, Carmines, and Crimsons. The Cardinals are the best workers, the Carmines are the average workers, and the Crimsons are the worst. I think by comparing them to colors it adds imagination and creativity to this essay. It adds a vivid and original description of these co-workers personalities and actions. Using these extended metaphors will also allow the reader to think and interpret more deeply. I want them to be able to picture what I am saying as they are reading each line of my essay. This will definitely allow them to do so. I think adding this extended metaphor to my essay will create a fun and interesting aspect for the reader.
It will be hard to attempt to use an extended metaphor on my classification essay my overarching theme is not comparing something to another. I have chosen to classify tennis players by their mentalities. These are simply not metaphors, they are rather adjectives on how they function as a player. I can perhaps use simple metaphors that are not related to the core categories that I created. I would like to compare them to things that resemble the adjective that I have chosen for them. I have chosen to classify tennis players by the Patient, the Eager, the Urgent, and the Lackadaisical. They serve the same purpose as a metaphor, to put a more vivid image in the mind of the reader, but they are not metaphors. These are all adjectives rather than nouns so I can not perform a direct metaphor in my essay. An extended metaphor would be interesting in my essay but it simply will not work. I hope to add metaphors in my essay throughout, although.

I am using an extended metaphor for my classification essay. I think that this will be the best way to put a clear picture into my readers head. In my essay, I am comparing family members to steps in a makeup routine. The mom is foundation; the dad is bronzer; the oldest child is the highlight; the middle child(s) is eyeliner; the youngest child is eyeshadow; the dog is setting spray. By carefully explaining each step and how it is used during a makeup routine the reader will clearly see that without following every step carefully or forgetting something is a crucial mistake that will cause your makeup for that day to look patchy and unfinished. This is just like a family. If you forget a member or don’t make sure that each one is doing what they are supposed to be doing then they can all fall apart and be a mess for the rest of the day. I like the extended metaphor because it was easier for me to pick a topic as well as help the reader follow along.

Extended metaphors are used commonly in essays to add a bit professionalism and zest. I think that they allow the essay to be more interesting, and adds a unique shaping along with it. I will attempt the use of an extended metaphor in my essay to hopefully provoke the reader's interest and create a unique comparison that not many minds have completely zoned in on before approaching my essay. I think extended metaphors also allow an essay to be secluded from the others, to be their own. I will be comparing paint colors to the many different personalities of this world. I will go into detail describing the thought trail that goes along with connecting these colors to certain personalities, and often they will be quite stereotypical ones to help the reader better connect with the essay. I am hoping for the use of extended metaphors to better my essay and allow it to be easier to connect with and understand.
I have chosen to not use an extended metaphor in my classification essay. Although they may be helpful, it was not the right fit for my topic. When using something to describe different types of servers, there was no group of objects that I believed fit each individual server. Each server is unique in their own qualities, and some are a combination of two types. I figured it would be best to use adjectives in order to describe each server. They are easy to remember and all start with “H”. Many people use adjectives on the daily basis to describe people, so I figured I would use some common ones in order to describe servers. Although some may compare servers to types of weather, or just the fact that they are all servers; after working in the service industry for two-plus years now it has become distinct which category each server falls into right away.

I will not use an extended metaphor in my essay because it's just way too hard to categorize Christians in a single metaphor. I am going to try to explain how seriously different groups of Christians take their faith, and an extended metaphor seems not as good at giving an image of how these groups act or don't act. Instead, I would rather relate them to the way another group takes their interests seriously. Football fans are already categorized—you know, bandwagons, psychos, tailgators, stuff like that. I feel that if I relate Christians to those, calling them different names but explaining how they act in relation to how football fans relate to their sport/team, it will give a much more realistic picture of how each group of Christians acts. Using an extended metaphor to relate the way they think to a game or a color or such doesn't feel to me like the best way to approach describing what I'm trying to explain.
I am hoping to put an extended metaphor into my essay. I have an idea that I am trying to work with. I am hoping to convey that music, in general, is like an ice cream shop and that the people involved in music are the many different flavors available. I do not know how I want to word it though. I hope that the essay I write has a clear extended message. The essay does not need to be philosophical but I would like it to be an understandable comparison to what I am trying to say. Needless to say, I am hoping that as I continue my work on my essay that it will become a beautiful piece of writing. I also hope that it is an essay that people will enjoy reading and find the comedy in it that I hope to apply. My topic is not super serious so I do not think my essay needs to be crazy serious either.
I have decided not to use an extended metaphor in my classification essay simply because I was struggling to find something to compare my topic to. Although the idea of an extended metaphor seems intriguing, I believe you need the right metaphor to describe your classification otherwise your essay could become confusing and unclear very quickly. However, when done correctly, an extended metaphor could bring out imagery in the essay that will not be a vivid with alliterative groups. My essay is going to be about different types of test takers and in order to grasp the different types well and clear, I decided it would be easier for me and the reader if I made up imaginary groups. I am hoping to still create a connection from the writing to the reader with context and imagery within the work. It may not be the same but if all writers wrote in like ways the world of reading and writing would be dull.

I will be trying to use an extended metaphor reason being I personally feel like it broadens the author's creativity when writing. This will be influential because I can have fun with writing so much. I am comparing the day in a life in a high school and all the different types of people you will find. Not even cliques but more so in-depth, critical thinking about it. I think it will be the best way to get my full point across not only how I like it but so it excites the audience when reading. I will be trying to relate to real life things in high school to allow the essay to touch the reader. I hope to establish all of the groups involved in the school in depth and make others see what I am seeing too. I am using a system of rhyming when establishing the different groups which will stick with most readers and become a more intriguing essay.

I will attempt to write an extended metaphor in my classification essay because it would allow me, the writer, to convey my thoughts and ideas more clearly to the readers. In all of the sample essays I have viewed, their extended metaphors showed more imagery that helped me picture exactly what they were thinking of. This imagery is engaging when reading essays or books because it turns the words on a page into a scene in the readers’ minds. Without this visualization, all writing becomes bland and loses its appeal. I do not currently have an idea for the topic of my essay; however, the use of an extended metaphor may help me to form my topic more clearly. Using an extended metaphor may make writing my essay more difficult, but I believe it will be worth it for the overall quality of my essay. The excellent samples I have read used extended metaphors to make their essay even better than it was before, and I believe it could make my essay better as well.
Constructing the scaffolding of an extended metaphor in my essay had begun from its inception. Adding a central creative element such as this breaks up the monotony of prompted writing contributes to the uniqueness of my paper. The extended metaphor I am implementing consists of types of lifters in the weight room being compared to different animals, including sloths, peacocks, etc. This does little to add to the complexity of the essay, but in my opinion, the almost childish nature of my metaphor makes the entire ordeal, more accessible and less of a literary swamp that the reader must wearily slog themselves through. While extended metaphors can at times become trite, I believe that this emerges not from the metaphor itself, but from the author pushing the metaphor too far. The purpose of a metaphor is to make a comparison to help the reader understand and connect with a topic. Diving into the deepest complexities of hummingbirds, for example, will do little to aid the reader and if anything will come of as verbose and boring. In order to combat this issue, I will use my extended metaphor as more of a resource than a central topic in my essay.

I am going to attempt to write an extended metaphor for my classification essay. I think writing a metaphor to classify everyday things will get people thinking about how it works. I hope that they will read my essay and either agree or disagree with me as to if the metaphor actually makes sense. Another reason as to why I think I am going to attempt to write an extended metaphor is that I want to challenge myself every day, and not do the same boring, everyday essays. One last reason that I want to attempt an extended metaphor is that I want to learn how metaphors can be written well. There is no better way to learn than to do it myself. I have been thinking of using a metaphor to compare the personalities of people as they drive to farm animal’s personalities. I will need to work on it so it makes perfect sense. I think it will be a good challenge for me, and I hope that people will enjoy it as they read.

Will I be attempting to write an extended metaphor in my essay? The answer to the question is yes. I am going to compare the personalities of volleyball players to animals. An extended metaphor would be very wise to use in this essay because it will allow for more description, and a comparison to someone or something else can provide a better understanding of the subject to the reader. When the reader can get a better understanding of the main idea from something like an extended metaphor, I think it can make the reading much more desirable to read because the reader might be able to connect with the writing. I personally like the idea of using an extended metaphor because some readers may interpret the metaphor differently, which adds more fun and curiosity when reading something like a classification essay. All in all, I think an extended metaphor will make my essay stronger.

In my essay, I will most definitely be using an extended metaphor. I am using athletes and saying that they are different types of fire. I am comparing these athletes to fire by saying some are firepits, lighters, matches, scented candles, and the fake decorative candles. When I compare these I am using an extended metaphor and making my essay much more interesting and a lot better. I am making it much more intriguing to the reader and making it much easier to read without getting bored. These comparisons will also help the readers understand more about what I am talking about. It will help the better comprehend what type of athletes there and show them how these different athletes act and what their real motives for playing are. It also gives the essay more structure, going from one paragraph to the next.

Will I try and use an extended metaphor in my essay? Yes, I do believe I will try to use an extended metaphor. First, I think by using one it will help further my essay in being more descriptive and create more of a vivid visual for the audience and also help show them what I am comparing instead of just saying it. Also, by using an extended metaphor it adds a good flow to the start of my essay and would really help move it along and give me a great starting point. Along with that, if I use a metaphor in that way it will help me order my essay more easily because I will be able to just go in order of the list that I used for the metaphor which will make my essay construction easier than just trying to do it on the fly. I believe that by using an extended metaphor it will help better my essay, move along and create great flow, and lastly will make constructing my essay easier and make my time writing the essay more enjoyable and hopefully it will come out fantastic.
I will include an extended metaphor in my classification essay because it is easier to classify something when it is compared to something. I find it a lot easier if you can visually compare an object with something because then your readers have a better understanding of what you are trying to classify. Also using an extended metaphor makes the reading a lot more enjoyable to read rather if you didn’t compare it to anything it would just be a boring classification essay. It is also difficult to try to find a metaphor for your topic because it has to make sense and yet still be entertaining. In my essay, I am comparing toddlers to the characters in Toy Story 3. I have the maleficent, moody, and mature. The Maleficent is Lotso, the big pink bear. For the Moody, they are Big Baby. Lastly, for the mature, they will be Woody.

I will not attempt an extended metaphor with my classification essay. Although it would make my essay seem more interesting, it may make my essay harder to understand. This would be especially true if I could not deliver the metaphor in a way that all people could understand. The metaphor may even distract readers from the point of my essay. Also, I couldn’t think of a good metaphor that fit my description of different passengers in long car rides. Using an extended metaphor would make writing the essay much more difficult because I would have to always be comparing one thing to another or else the reader may not understand the comparison. Since using an extended metaphor wouldn’t work as well with what I’m writing about, I am using an alliteration with the letter “s” instead. I am describing the different passengers as the Stopper, the Snacker, the Squimer, the Smasher, and the Sleeper. Hopefully, giving each type of passenger a unique name that fits the alliteration, it will be just as interesting to the reader.
I will attempt an extended metaphor with my classification essay. By doing so, the extended metaphors will help readers to better comprehend my classifications and remember them. The extending metaphors Allow writers to create lager comparisons between things. They intensively highlight whatever the writer is comparing and because of this intensity the reader is able to have a thorough understanding. Also they will make my essay more intriguing, colorful and original. Since my classifications have to be consistent and complete, always bouncing back to support my thesis, using metaphors that extend throughout my entire essay will help make it more persuasive and convincing to readers. Coming up with these extended metaphors will be somewhat of a challenge for me. Whenever it comes to writing about something that I actually have expertise in, I become extremely picky. Most likely, I will end up using them but not too heavily. I fear if I oversaturate my essay with metaphors like these, my essay will lose structure and turn itself into an epic poem.
Yes, I am attempting to write an extended metaphor in my classification essay. I believe doing is more interesting for the reader. If I use an extended metaphor in my essay, I feel like it could help me explain some of my topics more. I think it could grab the reader's attention more easily if you use two topics that don’t really relate to each other and bring them together. At first, I did not think about doing an extended metaphor because I was not sure how I could make two unrelated topics come together. But after quite a bit of thought and writing down some of my ideas with the metaphors. It really comes together nicely. My classification essay is based on types of customers you can get at a coffee shop. When I thought about it, animals can act the same as some types of people. So I just put two and two together and now I am very excited to write this essay.

As of now, I am not planning to use an extended metaphor in my classification essay. I am classifying different types of musicians based on the amount of drive they have; I simply have not thought of a good metaphor to go with that theme. However, I believe the use of an extended metaphor would greatly benefit my essay in two ways. First, I believe a metaphorical framework with which to write around would make the overall writing process far easier than trying to flounder around bereft of a model to follow. If I were to implement an extended metaphor, I could plug ideas into categories I have already decided on. Second, the addition of a framework such as this would give my work more cohesion and connection. It would be less complicated to read, have better flow, and establish a clear connection between the gist of the essay and the reader. I hope to formulate something to fill this gap quite soon.
I will not be choosing to use an extended metaphor when composing my essay. When deciding this I needed to think of how I wanted the essay to feel and also what point I wanted to convey. I wanted to create my own classes instead of using existing material. I find it to be slightly more enjoyable to read than an extended metaphor but only if it is composed correctly. If not done correctly this style of writing can become boring or tedious; whereas the extended metaphor can go to the other end of the spectrum and can sometimes seem overly childish or immature. I wanted to put forth an essay that would encourage the reader to examine their surroundings when at a sporting event instead of imagining the extended metaphor that was derived from an existing thing. Although the image of an extended metaphor will stir in your head, the classification groups when not using one will prove to be more recognizable in your everyday life.
DeCurtins 7
Although using an extended metaphor is a clever way of comparing things, I do not believe I will be using one in my classification essay. I do not have my essay set in stone, but I would prefer to use some form of rhyme or alliteration to describe my groups. Extended metaphors are a creative way of making analogies. These metaphors almost give the reader an easy way of understanding how groups of things work together. However, I like the more witty approach of the classification groups when you don't use an extended metaphor. As shown in some of the sample essays, the groups had unique titles that captivates the audience. When alliteration or rhyming is used, to me it’s stimulating. It makes the reader interested and curious enough to want to know more. If one of the classifications is an odd but absorbing word, they will continue reading for a better understanding of what they are being told. This is the path I wish to follow in writing my essay.

At this exact moment I do not intend to use a metaphor in my classification essay mainly because of the topic I am doing and how I split it up into groups, it simply just does not work to have a metaphor. Secondly, I am not completely sure that I want to continue writing about the topic. If I do choose another topic to write about I would strongly consider it because it would help me not only come up with the categories but also help make it simplified by comparing it to one category at first instead of splitting the objects off into groups right away. Plus, using one just makes the essay sound so much better and helps it sound smoother. Lastly, it helps simplify, I think, the essay because it does not split into the groups right away and it also helps the reader make a better understanding right away because they know the group of things you are comparing it to. As I had said earlier, right now I am not planning on using one because of the topic I am writing about, but if I do choose another I would highly consider using one.
Olthoff: I will not attempt to use an extended metaphor in my essay. I believe that by trying to accomplish that feat, I will focus to much on that aspect of my essay opposed to the actual quality of my essay. In my essay, I will be categorizing the different types of students in the student section at athletic events. With this topic, I feel that an extended metaphor would not do a great job of painting a picture. I will use these terms to describe the student section: The Cheerers, The Talkers, The Phone Users, and The Know it Alls. I believe that the first three are self explanatory but the fourth one is a little confusing but will make sense after my essay. I think that by using these instead of an extended metaphor that I will paint a much clearer picture in the reader's mind and connect to the students that are actually in the student section.

In my classification essay, I will be utilizing the idea of using an extended metaphor. I believe it is a good and unique way to create types of classification as well as help create an image in the reader's mind. I have chosen to classify various types of mental disorders/problematic emotional tendencies and compare them to different tools that may be found in a toolbox. I feel that this will be a unique topic, and may even spark some interest and intrigue in the audience. I believe that the topic of mental disorders is incredibly relevant in today's world, and I want to do my part of breaking down the stigma that surrounds mental instability. I truly believe that if I can force people to think about how others may be feeling it will result in a more understanding and compassionate society which will be productive for all involved. I know that I can achieve my goal through this opportunity to write and I know it will be best accompanied with an extended metaphor!
I have chosen to refrain from using an extended metaphor. With the topic I have chosen I feel that it would not be for the betterment of my paper to use such a metaphor. I instead chose to use four descriptive words that will set a tone for each paragraph on the four types. The words I used are: bashful, boastful, blithe, and bold. Each word having a far different meaning from the others as well as being an example of alliteration. The use of an alliteration fits my essay well. There are not many comparisons that could be made with an extended metaphor that would make sense. In other cases, using an alliteration would not benefit the paper as it does mine. Extended metaphors can and should be used if it will intensify the strength of an essay and add to it. However, I believe if an extended metaphor is used incorrectly or in a way that simply does not make sense, it could make someone’s paper seem unfinished and even childlike in some cases. Who knows, I may end up changing my mind if an idea comes up. As of now I will not be using an extended metaphor in my classification essay.

Yes, I will be sure to attempt using an extended metaphor in the writing of my comparison essay. I think it is the easiest and a creative way to get your classification points through to the reader. I hope to use creative words and keep the essay interesting with good vocabulary and comparisons. I want the readers to be able to connect with what I am talking about to their own lives. I chose to compare how everyone you know falls into some type of drink: the Sparkling, the Sweet, and the Sour. The Sparkling are fizzy drinks like pop, the Sweet are fruity and sweet drinks like tea, and the Sour are the bitter and hard to stand drinks like cranberry juice and limeade. With this metaphor and alliteration, the readers will be able to connect with who they associate with in their lives to everyday things in my essay.
I have not yet included an extended metaphor into my essay, but I would like to. Connecting two unrelated topics is always very interesting it to me. I find it is a fairly easy way to catch the attention of the readers and make them understand what you are trying to convey. I can explain each of my classifications thoroughly in a unique way. It can also capture images in the audiences head and make the essay more interesting and easier to read. Using this style of writing can showcase creativity and writing ability. Including an extended metaphor would definitely improve my essay and make it more enjoyable and memorable to both read and write. I hope I am able to incorporate an extended metaphor into my essay to compare different types of people at the movie theatres and make it extremely relatable to my audience.

I am going to attempt to write an extended metaphor in my classification essay. I think that having a metaphor will help get the reader interested and want to continue to read. Metaphors really help paint a picture of what you are trying to describe. This will also make it easier for the reader to fully understand my topic. Using a metaphor will help get my point across in a more descriptive and exciting way. I am going to be describing the different high school students. I am hoping that using an extended metaphor will keep my essay exciting and enjoyable for the reader. In the essays that I have read, when there was some sort of a metaphor it caught my attention and helped me stay focused on the essay better instead of not fully grasping what I was reading. My goal is to use a metaphor in a way that interests, and helps the reader understand my essay better!
I will attempt an extended metaphor in my essay. I think extended metaphors are a great way to intrigue the readers because it really makes them wonder about your topic. I think extended metaphors are also a great way to compare things that are unrelated. It also makes it an easy way for the reader to understand what you are trying to convey in your writing. In my essay, I am going to classify my cousins as animals. I think that everyone’s families are very unique, yet similar at the core. I think every family has cousins that have similar personalities and these personalities can be compared to different animals. I think it will be a challenge to fit all of these personalities into a few categories, but I think that it will make my essay more interesting to read. I think using an extended metaphor will really improve my writing skills.
Rima 1: I have decided that I will be trying to use an extended metaphor in my essay. I believe that extended metaphors are an incredibly useful tool. I think that every time they are used, they can be interpreted differently, and that is why I think they are so useful. Every reader may interpret the metaphor differently depending on what the objects are and how they relate to them. For example, if a reader loves the qualities of a koala, and the writer is comparing koalas to people, this reader can also understand that they will love the qualities of that person. I will try to use the extended metaphor in my essay to make the reader try to understand what I am thinking as I write; as well as relate my essay to themselves. I believe the way to engage your reader the most is to relate to them as much as possible.

I think I will attempt to write an extended metaphor throughout my classification essay for many reasons. I believe that it will make the essay more interesting as a whole. With the different comparisons throughout the essay using an extended metaphor will cause there to be a lot more imagery, which I believe is crucial in an essay. Also comparing things or people to different objects helps to prove the point that I am trying to get across. I am writing about the different type of siblings where I might classify the oldest as a trophy or something along those lines because they are considered the “prized possession” of the parents as they made them parents. Using an extended metaphor also helps the essay to flow more smoothly and get your point across more accurately. I believe that using an extended metaphor will really bring my essay to life and make it possible for me to make comparisons that people will understand and be able to relate to.

I will try to use an extended metaphor in my essay since I am comparing soccer athletes to different animals. I am going to do the extended metaphor because I feel that it would be the easiest on how I am trying to write it. I think that writing an extended metaphor would help to portray what I think more clearly. The reader would understand what I mean more than if I were to write about soccer without comparing it to something else. Since most people do not play soccer they will not be able to connect with my essay; however, they do know about the characteristics of deer, bears, lions, and sharks so it will help the reader understand how soccer players play during a game and how aggressive they can be. Overall, I think that using an extended metaphor would be the best way to write my essay.

I will be attempting to do an extended metaphor. I will be comparing online gamers to different types of animals. I am trying this out because I feel like it will grow my skills as a composer. Trying to do the extra stuff will push me a bit and grow skills that I otherwise wouldn’t use. Having a slight struggle when writing is good for every writer. It may not seem fun at the time, but in the end, it will be worth it. I think that this comparison will also be pretty easy. There are a lot of animals representing different things. So it will help me try and use my imagination a bit. By doing this, it will show what kind of imagination I have and how that impacts me as a composing. I am happy for a challenge and it will bring out the best composer in me.
I have not decided what I am going to do my classification essay about yet. I might use an extended metaphor in my essay, but I have not decided. I like extended metaphors but it might not fit in my classification system. It would be a good challenge for me to include an extended metaphor in my essay so I might try to incorporate one. I have seen some really good extended metaphors about lots of different things; therefore, I should be able to come up with one no matter what my essay is about. One reason I might not use an extended metaphor is that I am already having trouble finding something to classify for my essay and I am a little bit behind on writing. I haven’t even chosen a topic for my essay yet so I probably won’t include an extended metaphor in my classification essay. It will all depend on if I can think of one based off of what I choose for my topic.
I do not think I will be using an extended metaphor in my essay. Although it can be a very useful tool used to portray the topic more clearly, I do not believe it has a place in my essay. My essay discusses the different people at the gym you are likely to meet. I divided them into multiple subcategories based on attitudes, demeanor, physique, and overall attitude. So to portray it more clearly I will be using multiple metaphors throughout the essay instead. The hope is that the topic will be just as clear and easy to understand. However, if I find it more applicable in my essay the further I progress, I will most likely flip sides and find a way to intertwine an extended metaphor in. At this point, I do not believe that it has a place and will most likely not include it in there.
Because of the very nature of an extended metaphor, I do plan on attempting to use an extended metaphor in my classification essay. The nature of an extended metaphor is that I, as a writer, am classifying something by calling it something completely different, while explaining how the two completely different things are related. I will attempt to make an extended metaphor by classifying the different types of bowlers as something completely different that I have not yet decided on at this present moment. My hope is that I will be able to come up with some clever way to classify them to make it into an extended metaphor. I am trying to classify them through their attitudes about the sport using my preconceived knowledge of the Brandon Valley Lynx Bowling Team that I am a part of. So the attitudes that I want to compare are the people that are completely competitive to a point where it isn't really all that fun anymore, the people that are still competitive, but find a lot of enjoyment out of it, the people that are really only there to hang out and have a good time with some friends, and the people that are there really only because someone convinced them to join.

I will attempt to use an extended metaphor in my essay. When using metaphors, readers are often much more intrigued by the story. It makes a reader wonder how the two things you are writing about are related to one another. When using a metaphor it really shows that you are familiar with the topic that you are writing about. Using metaphors can also help readers understand something better. When comparing something that is unfamiliar to something that is familiar, a reader can better comprehend what it is you are talking about. In my essay, I am comparing band students to the Kardashian sisters. Some people may not be very familiar with what different band sections are like. On the other hand, nearly everyone knows something about the Kardashians. By connecting the two and explaining their similarities, a reader is able to make connections and make sense of the metaphor.
Yes I will be attempting an extended metaphor in my classification essay. I really liked the extended metaphors in the essays I read from previous students. Reading the introductory paragraph and seeing it end with an extended metaphor really gets your brain moving and involved with the writing. Using them in your essay really adds more imagery to it. It makes you think and visualize what it’s being compared to. I really think imagery is the best way to make your writing better. When you use words and compare things in a way that makes the reader really imagine what they are reading it brings them in and they want to read more. Nobody ever wants to read a boring essay. I want to write something that people will read and want to keep reading because it is drawing them in. That is why I will attempt an extended metaphor. To make my reading more interesting and to create great imagery.

In my composition essay, I have decided to compare all little dancers to candy and sweet treats as an extended metaphor. The fighters are Sour Patch Kids, the angels are Hershey Bars, and so on. By comparing the little dancers to sweet treats it helps the readers understand the personalities of the dancers more completely because they are familiar with those common treats and how they make your mouth feel. Also, by using an extended metaphor it creates unity between the characteristics so they aren’t just random titles. Already I am pulling a million different details into the essay to explain these little beings and if the titles weren’t connected in some way then it would lose clarity in my scenario. After reading the sample essays, I recognized that the extended metaphors added more character and liveliness to the essay so it wouldn’t seem like a bland expository that had no purpose or entertainment to the reader. I hope my extended metaphor will bring more clarity and creative to my composition.
Andresen 2
I think that writing a extended metaphor is quite difficult depending on what kind of paper you are writing. However, they can also be easy if your paper has the right fit for an extended metaphor. In my essay I will not be using an extended metaphor because I think my essay will be stronger without using them. I will still use several metaphors throughout my essay to make it as strong as possible and to make the reader understand my point better. I choose to compare the different types of coffee drinkers that exist in todays society and I believe that an extended metaphor is not the way to go when writing my paper. I think that extended metaphors are a very good way of getting your view and point across in an essay or paper and they put very good images in the reader's mind as they read, but my paper will not contain them.
Talcott 2
In my classification essay, I will be using an extended metaphor. I feel that using an extended metaphor is a great way to give people a different perspective and comparison on my topic, athlete characteristics. Also, I feel like it will give my essay more description and imagery. It will also be a better way to lengthen my essay. My extended metaphor is how athlete characteristics are like lights. The five light examples that I am using are a lighthouse, flashlight, lamp, strobe light, and firework. I feel like using these five light sources will be an easy and good way to compare to a leader, follower, rebel, playmaker, and the encourager of a team. I believe that using this extended metaphor will make my essay more enjoyable and entertaining to read. It will also make writing my essay more enjoyable because it will challenge me to come up with how lights can be like athlete characteristics.
In my classification essay, I will be using an extended metaphor. My essay’s main thesis is comparing the many types of drivers with types of foods. Extended metaphors allow the writer to elaborate on which they are comparing more. It also allows the reader to understand the topic thoroughly. Extended metaphors give readers a more relatable and tangible idea which helps them be more engaged while reading. I believe extended metaphors are important with classification essays as they allow for more description within the essay. The comparison within my essay needs to have extended metaphors to compare correctly. Describing a scene relating road rage to spicy foods needs to have elaboration within to justify the comparison. Not only is it needed to justify the comparison, but extended metaphors in my essay to allow the comparisons to make sense. This can only be done with the use of extended metaphors which is why I am using them in my essay.
I will attempt to use an extended metaphor in my essay. I feel that using this it will get my point across better. My metaphor will be comparing young children that I work with to animals in a jungle. With using this extended metaphor it will help show the comparison between the two I am trying to make in my classification. Using an extended metaphor I feel will bring some more interest into my essay. Some readers may show more interest if my metaphor is something they can relate to. Children in daycares or elementary schools are very similar to animals, but at the same time very different. Using this metaphor style in my essay will help me to include more information into my essay. Also by comparing the two concepts of children and animals it will give me more information to write about in my essay. Overall, an extended metaphor will bring more interest into my essay, while giving the readers something to relate to.
I think I will attempt to use an extended metaphor in my essay because it will help compare and contrast my classifications easier. I will classify something very broad that is I am going to narrow down to a few categories. Using an extended metaphor will make the classification clearer and more understandable. Instead of just categorizing something that people don’t have much knowledge about does not allow others to get a grasp on its understanding. However, using a metaphor to link your classification to something most people are familiar with makes it easier for them to understand the concept. Many previous students have used extended metaphors in their essays very effectively. Their doing so has helped me understand their points of view because they linked their classification to things I am more familiar with. I hope to use one in my essay to help people understand my classification the best they can.

I plan to attempt to write an extended metaphor in my essay. I am comparing Walmart customers with everyday genres of music. I think this will add much character to my essay as well as uniqueness. I think by being a cashier at Walmart as well as being an avid fan of almost all music, I am more than prepared to write this essay. I feel by using an extended metaphor, my readers will be able to better understand my classification, rather than using adjectives to describe them. I also think that using a metaphor that is so not closely related , my readers will clearly understand exactly what I am trying to convey. I also feel this will add a creative challenge for me as the writer. I don’t know that I have ever written an extended metaphor to this length. I am particularly excited for this writing assignment because of the creativity I am able to explore.
In my essay, I will not be attempting to use an extended metaphor. I read some of the example essays and I liked the one without better. I believe in extended metaphor would make it harder for me to write my essay. It's a lot of think about and I would probably get confused and my writing would get off track. Instead of helping my essay I believe it would actually make it harder for the reader to understand it. Also at first, I thought we had to use an extended metaphor, so I tried to think of one but I couldn't even come up with any. In place of an extended metaphor, I'm probably going to go with alliteration or even a rhyme scheme if I can come up with one. Maybe even both, that would really bring the reader in. In doing this I think it would be just as interesting as if I use an extended metaphor.
I plan to use an extended metaphor in my essay. By using an extended metaphor my essay will tell more of a story. Someone rather read a fun essay than what appears to be a scientific essay. By comparing two completely unrelated things you will have your read wondering how you are going to compare them. Even if they have already been compared before a reader would want to know your take on the comparison. My essay compares people to animals. This is a very common day comparison but my take on it is not commonplace. It's not very often you get to write fun essays like these in class. I feel that you should take advantage of it and make the essay fun to write. By comparing two different things it makes it more interesting to read and write. This is why I will attempt an extended metaphor in my classification essay.

I plan to use an extended metaphor in my essay. I think it will be easier for the reader to visualize and interpret my essay if there is an extended metaphor to help them. My essay compares dogs to punctuation marks, which might intrigue the reader and encourage them to continue reading. I have not read an essay like this before this class period, and I think that it is a fun way to improve your writing and composition ability. I will use an extended metaphor in my essay because I have never written one before, and I think it will be a good opportunity to learn more about composition and writing.

In my classification essay, I don't think that I will be attempting to write an extended metaphor. I think that the object that I'm writing about is pretty straightforward in the way that I plan to classify it. I could probably attempt to create an extended metaphor, but I think that it would be far simpler and comprehensive for the reader if I were to classify my group without a metaphor. I plan to be classifying sheet music by its difficulty in practice and how intimidating it looks. Now that I think about it, I could probably relate that to people that look hard to approach but are actually really nice people, or something of that nature, but I still think that I would like to not attempt a metaphor in my essay.

Grammar has always been one of those subjects that I have always struggled with in school. I usually pick up on things fairly easily, but grammar is not one of them. That being said I will attempt one, but I don’t know if it will be successful or not. I think it would be a good thing to add to my essay because it will make me seem a bit more educated than I am at this point in my learning career. I have always been good at coming up with metaphors and similes, but similes are always easier. You just simply need to use “like” or “as” and pretty much anything can become a simile. Metaphors, however, are a little bit trickier because you cannot use like or as or it would just be a simile. I will have to use words such as “is” instead of “like” or “as”.

My classification essay puts friends in categories of different movie cliches. because of my topic, I think it would be very difficult to put it as an extended metaphor. If I was comparing them to objects or something with a specific name it would be possible. If I am able to I would like to somehow write it as an extended metaphor. I would want to do this because I think that it would make it easier for the reader to understand. It also makes it more fun. In my essay, my classification is a little silly, I want there to be some humor in it. I think straightforwardly calling your friend a slow-motion scream of no is a bit humorous. So if I am able I want to write my classifications as extended metaphors. However, I think that this is only possible if I came up with a quick, catchy, one-word term for each cliche. Otherwise reading my essay it would be hard to understand what exactly I am saying.
Yes, I will attempt to put an extended metaphor in my essay for many reasons. I want to put description in my essay and extended metaphors help a lot with that. They help with not seeming to drag on descriptions. I also like that it gives purpose to the listing method. They give a chance to put a visual image in the readers mind and that helps lure them into an essay. I am not good with grammar and do not have a full understanding of metaphors but I will do my best to incorporate it into my essay. Also they are good to have to show different lengths and types of sentences in an essay. They show emphasis in my opinion of what you are describing.
No, I do not believe that I will be attempting an extended metaphor in my classification essay. I know that these types of metaphor can be very effective and give a good understanding to the reader, but it is hard to create such a powerful comparison. If part of it doesn't make sense, I feel the whole essay wouldn't work as well. I believe that it is easier to classify something using subclasses or something similar. Having a more coherent classification will give the reader a better understanding than a somewhat effective extended metaphor. With that being said I may change my mind. As of now, I haven't come up with any good metaphors. If I do, I most likely will attempt to use one because they are better. It is not that I do not like metaphors, it is that I am extremely uncreative when it comes to writing.

I am not sure if I will or not. I am stuck between two topics right now, and I'm having a bit of a writers block. I hope I can begin focusing better soon, and not get so stuck on how to start my essay. The two topics I have picked out are customers of Red Lobster, and people of doog parks, or maybe even dogs of dog parks. That may be what I choose I didn't really think of that till now. This blog has helped me make my decision on my essay, wow. Maybe extended metaphor will help me with writing this essay, and it may help my readers understand just what I'm trying to explain. Either way I will give an A+ effort on it.
I will not be attempting to write an extended metaphor in my essay. I thought about writing one but ended up deciding against it. I was originally going to compare types of relationships to different TV shows but discovered it was not coming to me as smoothly as I had hoped. I decided to go for a different style of categorizing so that I could do my absolute best work and not waste time just staring at my screen.

After pondering about whether I want to use a metaphor or not for my classification essay, I have now concluded that I do, indeed, want to use an extended metaphor. The metaphor will help others understand what my classification essay is about. I have decided to compare my coworkers to Oscar categories. Each category that I put my coworkers in will truly help the reader understand the people that you always see when you enter my workplace. SImilar to the other essays that I have read, it will help create an image in your head that could help you get a better explanation of all the workers you find in Target. My essay will help entice people, and possibly lure them to read the entire thing, rather than just skimming through it. It was kind of hard coming up with the Oscar categories that my coworkers fit into, but overall I think my essay is quite successful.

Using extended metaphors in my essay would be absolutely crucial to getting a better grade on my characterization essay. In my essay I am not characterizing them on things. But, I am characterizing them based on cats and their traits based on how they act. So, in a way I am using an extended metaphor, but I am not using things to describe them. Why I am doing this is for my audience to better understand the ways and the certain things that neighbors and cats have in common. By using an extended metaphor, this would enhance my essay more than what it is right now. By not using an extended metaphor it may hurt my audience's ability to fully understand the full potential of my essay and the message that it is trying to be conveyed to my audience. By doing that it will ultimately help my essay tenfold.
Extended metaphors make essays so much more interesting. Not only do they add curiosity to the reader, but it makes them more intrigued. When I write essays, I want (and need) to make sure the ones who read it are not bored with my writing. I will add extended metaphors to my essay. This could be a challenge because these types of metaphors can be very difficult to come up with. Having to compare two random things is already difficult, but comparing using an extended metaphor takes the toughness to another level. If I were to not use an extended metaphor in my essay, it would take away a lot of character to my essay. I will try my hardest to correctly insert an extended metaphor— having a poorly based metaphor will be hard for the audience to understand my thought process. Putting this in my essay will, hopefully, conclude with more curious readers than bored readers.

In my classification essay, I will try to intelligently incorporate an extended metaphor into the writing. I will attempt this because I am not just writing to fill a prompt, but hopefully, entertain the reader as well as inform through creative connections. As of right now, I have just written what has come to my mind, and haven’t too much focused on the criteria that is needed. When I am all done with simply writing I will go back and look to places that either seems dull and boring or places that certain criteria would completely improve the overall of the context. That is the game plan I have with the extended metaphor, I will look to where it most smoothly fits in to add an intelligent comparison. As of right now, I am thinking that it will look like this “All offensive football plays are like job fields. There is lawyers, stockbrokers, carnival workers, doctors, and construction workers”

I am going to try and attempt an extended metaphor with my classification essay. What I was planning on doing was comparing the characteristics of athletes to animals. What I am comparing is Lemmings, Leeches, and Lions. All athletes are animals. They are either: Lions, Leeches, or Lemmings. The Lemmings are the people who unthinkingly joins a mass movement and only goes through the motions at practices. They are usually the only ones who flow with the group. Lemmings go through the motion and so do the animals. Leeches are the people who suck off other people and steal credit but isn’t trying hard. Leeches are just like real life leeches they suck off other people for their “life source.” Lions are like the lions because both are the leaders. Lions are the leaders, leeches are the slackers, and lemmings are the followers. Throughout my essay, I explain each animal and how their characteristics compared to the nature of the athletes; I also give situations, so the picture is clear when I distinguish each product.

I will be attempting an extended metaphor in my essay. I will be comparing the positions in a football team to the parts of a car. This would help my essay get out and resonate with people who aren’t fans of football. If they are a car person, they will likely understand my essay and then they would learn about a football team because the ideas would be coherent with them. The only problem I may have is that there is a lot of positions on the team and there is going to be a lot of parts that I can compare them to. This means that it will be challenging to fit all of my ideas onto five pages but I will make it work. I am excited to write this essay because it will be a means to show off my creativity and I get to write about something that I am passionate about, that being football.

I will try to extend my metaphor to a certain degree, but it may be quite difficult to do when my topic is of the qualities and attitudes of dancers themselves. Therefore, I won't be comparing two completely opposite things, but I would like to add in some minor ones in order to enhance the meaning and purpose of my essay. With these metaphors, I'll be able to allow the audience to better relate and understand the purpose for classifying dancers for their attitudes. My reasoning be: dancers have exuberant amounts of personality due to the performing arts’ skills required in order to complete their jobs. Using metaphors, however, would help me to expand my reasoning for classifying these in the first place. For example, comparing the potential that each dancer has to a juicy apple in a tall tree, spotting even juicier apples as you keep climbing, helps to visually describe what potential is, no matter who is reading my essay.
An extended metaphor is a great way to explain a foreign idea to someone new. It is a tool that will relate the new concept and pair it with which something the person is familiar with. I will be using an extended metaphor for the sake of convenience and detail. Normally the two do not go hand in hand, but more detail will result in a more faster and more streamlined realization for the learners. I could use go with an essay that does not have an extended metaphor but the difficulty of understanding will increase the more I try to pitch my new classification system. An extended metaphor is the best way of making sure the learners can stay grounded as they figure out my system. My system is about the neighboring towns and their athletic programs. Many students will come to a new town and not know what to expect, this system is designed to help them quickly figure out what their town does and how they are represented and viewed by the surrounding towns. I am using characters from "That 70s show" as a way of using already represented personalities that a common person would be familiar with. I think the extended metaphor will greatly expedite the understanding of the system.
In my classification essay, I will attempt to use an extended metaphor. I believe that metaphors make your essay more interesting and better for the reader to read. It helps readers stay engaged and maybe even relate somewhat. In my classification essay, I am going to compare three types of a 17-year-old girl's relationships to fast food meals. One of the relationships is a girl's first love, which I am comparing to a Jimmy John's sandwich and chips. I am using metaphors and analogies to explain the similarities. The second type of relationship is a toxic/bad relationship whether it's with a friend or boyfriend. That is compared to a spicy beef burrito from Qdoba. Last, I am comparing a best friend to eating sweet and sour chicken from Panda Express. These three types of relationships which I relate to food are something some people may have experienced or eaten before, helping them stay interested and relate to the essay.
I will not be attempting to use an extended metaphor in my essay. I want to create a clear understanding about my classification system. Creating a metaphor that is not necessary would force the reader to make an additional connection that could cause confusion. Metaphors can mean one thing to one person, and something else to another. Metaphors could also distract from the thesis that I have stated. I am classifying trucks based on their appearance, uses, and those who drive them. I want this main idea to be represented throughout the whole essay without interruptions. I do not believe I have to use an extended metaphor to make this topic interesting either. Adding a more complex connection in my classification system does not seem to create a more entertaining read. An organized, well put together essay without rabbit trails would be a better product than an essay that seems to make bizarre connections that create confusion or seem childish.

Even though metaphors are fun and interesting in essays or stories, they are not always a good thing. My essay is pretty straightforward and to add a mysterious metaphor in it would just make it even more confusing. I am classifying love based on drugs in particular girlfriends because many drugs have a womens name as a slang term. I am a very blunt person and when it comes to this idea or concept it has to be blunt because of how the world views this concept which is drugs.
I will be refraining from the use of an extended metaphor in my classification essay. For some topics, it may make it easier to understand; however, I feel my topic would become more complicated. I feel as though an extended metaphor would distract the readers from the main idea of my essay. The types of staff on Capitol Hill are described as the Enthusiastic, the Entitled, and the Egotistical in my essay. The use of alliteration in my categories is a method that I felt would work better to grab the reader’s attention, and it strengthens my essay more than an extended metaphor. When deciding how to classify my subject, I thought that the categories were very individual and could not be compared to a lot. By eliminating an extended metaphor from my essay, readers will have a greater fascination in the reasons for my three categories and retain my argument. I want the readers to survey their surroundings, not just imagine something that already exists. An extended metaphor should only be used to strengthen a paper, and I do not feel as though it would for me.

An extended metaphor is a very easy, effective, and clear way of showing your audience what you are comparing. However, I do not think that I will be using one in my classification essay. In my essay, I am not so much comparing two things as I am describing why one thing is like the other. I am comparing movie endings with different types of weather. For example, in my essay I am describing happy movie endings as sunny weather. In this case, I don't believe that I would have to use an extended metaphor. So, an extended metaphor doesn't really fit into my essay like it would others. I can see how using an extended metaphor would be very helpful in this specific kind of essay. But, I think that I will be able to get my point across to my audience clearly and effectively without using one.

An extended metaphor is a good, easy way to explain your classification system. However, I will not be attempting one in my essay. When coming up with my classification system, it did not occur to me to use an extended metaphor. Instead I will just be describing each category and its characteristics, instead of explaining it through a metaphor. I did think about doing one after reading the example essays, however, I was unable to come up with a metaphor that I could use while describing the different types of children. I thought about doing fruit or weather, but was unable to come up with an effective way of comparing them to children. Instead, I will most likely stick with what I have done so far on my essay. I feel that I will be able to effectively and clearly explain without the use of an extended metaphor; but may consider it if there is opportunity for it in an upcoming essay.

In my classification essay, I will not attempt to use an extended metaphor because I have put together my essay in a format different way than directly stating that A is B. Using an extended metaphor in my essay could be useful in certain ways, such as helping the reader to understand what each category is based on. However, my classification essay does not necessarily need that specific format to make it understandable and can be completed well with a more structured format. Incorporating an extended metaphor would have been a good idea for my classification essay, or any essay, but, as I have already written out a perfectly fine comparison sentence, the extended metaphor will not be needed. I certainly would have liked the promise of having an extended metaphor in my classification essay and using it to its fullest extent, except that it just does not work in this instance.

In my classification essay, I will not be using an extended metaphor due to the fact that I am simply making a comparison between Fortnite players and how they prepare for fights and essayists (how they prepare their essays). Such a metaphor would not work in my essay, however such thinking is not conducive to improvement in life nor in my writing. Perhaps I will find a way to stick a metaphor inside my writing in order to create more interest and involvement in my essay. However, builders in Fortnite are not necessarily meticulous essayists who always write outlines for their essays. They are not always the same thing, so an extended metaphor may not be the best choice or option for my essay. Using such a metaphor would certainly create an interesting and engaging essay though, so perhaps I will find a way to make it work. As of right now, I do not plan on using an extended metaphor in my essay simply due to the fact that it would make more logical sense and would be easier to explain without such a metaphor.

I thought about this a lot before starting my essay and I decided to not to do an extended metaphor for my classification for the reason that it was just easier. With the way my essay is written so far, I believe that it would just overcomplicate things if I tried to make it into an extended metaphor. I decided to classify the different types of gamers that someone might come across while online. I have tried to look at this from many different angles like connecting them to food, different environment, etc. but I still can not find a way to transform it into an extended metaphor. Even looking at two of the examples, I noticed that both were less of a metaphor and more of a categorizing situation that I am using. The use of a metaphor would help set up for some amazing imagery and earn some extra creativity points but I just don't have a good way to implement that in my essay.

Yes, i will try to use an extended metaphor in my classification essay. I believe that this will help people relate more to the situation and topic I am trying to communicate across the essay. It is much easier for people to attach to. It is like if you are not understanding the homework in school and you are a great baseball player and they give you anallagious about baseball relating to your homework to understand it. It helps the reader understand what it is like and gives them something they can compare it with. I am relating my essay to music. I am comparing categories of emotions to categories of music that relate to each other. This will help the readers that do not understand music fully and help them relate it to something we all have… emotions. We have times that we are sad, angry, confused, joyful… This is what I am using to help many more understand how music impacts your thoughts and attitude. This is why I am using an extended metaphor to help my point relate and reach further to people.
I do not plan on using an extended metaphor in my classification essay. Personally, it is rare for me to find an allegory interesting to read. Writing something of that nature seems like it would be a chore, rather than a project I could pour my heart into. I plan to paint a scene of the types of Drum Corp International (DCI) performers personalities. I feel that I have a rare insight into this subject because I plan to audition for the Boston Crusaders in November. If I were to turn this topic into an extended metaphor, I do not believe that I would be able to adequately get my point across because many people are unfamiliar with DCI. A metaphor would muddle my ideas, rather than entice readers to read my essay.

In my classification essay, I had originally started to craft an extended metaphor because, in the examples that I had looked at, this seemed like the most effective way of classifying things. At first, this seemed like it would be the easiest way to categorize things but I soon realized that it was not as simple as I had originally thought. I would have my idea of something to write about and I could maybe think of one really good metaphor that lined up in every way for a single category but it felt nearly impossible to come up with even two or three additional relevant comparisons. I felt like I was trying to stretch the reality of the classification and that using an extended metaphor made my writing less effective and accurate. I applaud the people that were able to use this writing style in a way to enhance their writing as it is not always the easiest route to take.

I will choose to have an extended metaphor in my essay. My metaphor will be about the common hardcore
drugs to bad relationships. The audience I hope to read my essay is teenagers and young adults. But if a reader is not ‘in the audience” then the metaphors in my essay can make it easier for them to understand the concept/theory I am attempting to write about. Also, metaphors make a boring essay become interesting and intense with a lot of depth that is open for more room to write new ideas. The only con of using a metaphor in one’s essay is that metaphors are different for everybody. Everybody’s brain works differently, so one person may think it’s about a red car and the next might think it’s about a heart. When I write my metaphors, my number one priority is to make it a clear metaphor that is not necessarily easy to comprehend, but easy to grasp.
