Super Bowl Advertisements

What is your thesis statement? Is it arguable? Could there be a counterpoint? Is it clear and direct? Is it a statement and not a question? Is it your most profound declaration? A good example: Advertisements like Old Spice's "Get noticed" body spray make men think they can/will be irresistible to women; this creation of false bravado leads to objectification of women and, moreover, distorted notions of what healthy relationships should be.
WHAT TECHNIQUES ARE BEING USED DURING THE SUPER BOWL? ARE THESE ADS EFFECTIVE? (ADVERTISERS SPENT $2.7 MILLION TO GET 30 SECONDS OF TIME DURING THE COMMERCIAL BREAKS!) THESE ADS PROVED EFFECTIVE FOR GODADDY.COM, WHICH SAW A MAJOR BOOM AFTER THEIR PROVOCATIVE SUPER BOWL ADS AIRED WHILE MILLIONS WATCHED.

Mr. C. your example is a decient one, however, there are men who do not think that, "Hey if I buy this Old Spice body spray that girls will flock to me." and the same would be true with Axe and Bod. Axe is using the "boost your esp" (for the sent(?) boost) edge in there commercial ads. In which "esp" means extra sexual perception.

Now, for my add I am using the two from Honda. One is the CR-V where Honda is using food, and tell their potential customers to CRAVE something differnt. The other is for the super rare '08 Honda Civic MugenSI, in the add there are three different ways you can order your steak ie. well, medium-well, medium-rare, then of course the Civic for rare.

To tell the truth Mr. Christensen, I need your help to gather my thoughts.

What do you think of my thesis re: Google AdWords/AdSense?

Will this simple technology prove to be an invasion of privacy, or is it even an effective means of advertising?

CrazyForDynamite--remember that your thesis statement must not be a question, but a claim you make about this Google AdSense. You should boldly state that you believe it is an invasion of privacy, then prove that fact through your essay, if that is what you believe.

this is my thesis statement for my burberry london perfume ad:

If we smelled like them, then we would probably be a classy European couple wearing clothing purchased from Saks Fifth Avenue instead of a shabby prairie couple wearing clothes purchased from St. Vinny’s (aka St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Store).

i like the fact that it relates to me, as i am writing, and expresses the idea of what the perfume represents to the consumer. it is very long, though.

Opponents of wearing animals use cuteness and emotional attachment to prevent animal death.

Thesis statements are very important in college writing. About 98% of the thesis statements I got in your essays were ideal; remember--they must be the main point of your essay and they must be arguable. Then, in the body of your paper, you support your thesis claim with facts, experts' opinions, contradiction, hypothetical solutions/scenarios, evidence, stories, and statistics.

I personally don't think that people who see ads think so hard about what they are selling...if there is a picture of a man wearing cologne and women all over him...I don't believe that men look at that ad and say to themselves that if I wear that then I will get all of the girls. I think the people who make the ads are the people who are deep into them...and put alot of thought into the ads.

Catwoman, what do you mean?

Ad analysis is absolutely fascinating to me, because advertisements have such an impact on our culture. I know that advertising affects us mentally. No wonder there are skyscrapers full of people who work to advertise more effectively. Advertising is a multi-trillion-dollar industry!

I don't think it is worth paying so much money for an ad to be on during the super bowl. They try to relate to fans that normally watch football and drink beer... but also to girls who will be watching because it's the superbowl. I believe that companies should spend the money they put for one commercial during the superbowl into alot of the same ads just run over and over on regular tv.
