The musical has ended, tears were cast away The end of school is coming, the last day Sad as it is I’m sick of analysis And really looking forward to May.
Jane Gallop, age 65, is the author of 9 books and many articles. She is a literary theorist. Her interests include psychoanalysis, feminism, and queer theory. She is an American professor who has taught her students the methods of close reading theory for the past 35 years. In her most controversial book, "Feminist Accused of Sexual Harassment," Gallop addresses the issue of sexual harassment, calling on her own experiences of being accused of sexual harassment at her workplace. In it, she argues that harassment only applies to men and that a feminist professor couldn't sexually harass her female students. For critical essays, she uses personal narrative as a starting point in the hopes of producing a "more literary theory." She is the author of "Anecdotal Theory." The essays in this book recount a personal anecdote and then attempts to read that anecdote for the theoretical insights it affords. Gallop explains that the practice of anecdotal theory comes from psychoanalysis, deconstruction, and feminism.
The future is bright and vivid like the sunny blue sky I've kept close to ones who won't, and far from ones who will lie 100 some days down, now the school is at its ends Time to approach new people and remember those one friends About to grasp onto something and hold tight or at least try
Bright lights, sunny smiles An audience that seems to stretch for miles Music flits in the air Beautiful costumes make everyone stare The feeling as precious as a flower Up to the final hour When the lights go dim Everyone becomes grim It is time to say goodbye Every person lets out a cry The magic may be fleeting But it will always be in our hearts, beating
Senior year is ending soon Once I'm out of high school, I'll be over the moon I'll miss friends, teachers, and more But the homework? Not so much; it was quite a bore As high school stops, college starts So much in store, hopefully I keep my smarts
As the glitter of the costumes fall, and the spotlights start to fade A quiet voice grows in the darkness over black wood floors with scratches from years of memories made lies a sounds fighting its way to being heard there stands a curtain drooping in despair as it knows the maroon velvet may never fly once more the verberations push up the grand knowing it has much to share than just the word wires lye unused and strewn about with other useless objects and what lays with them is an idea struggling to be noticed the silence is ever growing, and dust hangs in the air undisturbed hoping something may finally revitalize it, but this hope is just a hope, this voice is silence, these memories are all they will ever be, and tears have been shed for the last time Until the silence is shaken by a single set of footsteps walking into the darkness a soft thump as each foot hits the ground making pace the center of this stage the dust moves in the direction of this figure to see what this individual could be up to, soon glitter is falling to the ground but from where this makes no sense the black floor is turned to the shiny polish of an opening night and wires seamlessly connected to ports then the sounds of a single rope are heard, and the magnificent magenta flies around in glee for the first time in years and last a flip of a switch brings on the buzz of a machine and the striking lighting beam of light hitting the center of the commotion and here stands what turns hope into truth, memories into reality, and tears into laughter a single voice has fought to be heard and heard it shall be, for even though the time may pass, a heart of passion can never be silenced
What a mess, The approaching storm brings, Causing distress And fraught with reschedulings Complaints, grumbles, and fears, “I can’t believe they can do that to prom!” I guess they can, as it appears Gather your aplomb, For Friday, not Saturday, is the night And hopefully our ending to senior year will be alright...
A storm approaches Threatening and stressful Rescheduling, replanning, revising What a mess! How could we know? Why is it so? But.......... This too will pass Triumphantly this class will march onward 2018 A class of Strength Endurance and intelligence Hundreds of hearts Hundreds of dreams and wishes and plans Hundreds of paths that will be taken Planned and unplanned Here and there Left and right Up and Down Hundreds of jobs Thousands of lives touched However Each unique Each wonderful beautiful beloved becoming loving learning and leaving Each important
Goodbye is what I will say When all my friends go their own way. Smiles go to a frown Everything goes upside down. A journey is ahead of us There is no need to fuss. Happy times will come The feeling will go numb. It is our time to shine Just wait in line.
A senior retreat has brightened my mood Only to be crushed by prom getting moved The musical is over and all I can say Is that I’m glad i’m a senior and it’s almost may
The senior Retreat is over It is hard to keep my composure That is because the end is near for the 2018 senior year
I didn't know how much you wanted so I just wrote a second one.
Another school year, come and gone But this one is different, it hits you like a bomb Cause this is the last year of grade school And May is coming close The true talent of the class of 2018 will finally be exposed
We are woven together our experiences interlaced. Memories are made, tears are shed, and ourselves is what we reflect. It may be awkward, but we grow. Growing makes wisdom and wisdom gives confidence. The confidence we need to succeed. Through music and fun, We share honor and respect. To one day look back and know that we left nothing behind
Our year is coming to an end Doing our best to make amends Enjoying the time we have left Making more and more memories to be kept Time at Brandon Valley has been fun Looking forward to whats to come
Prom is being moved At the high school will it be It is the last one
Graduation is near The unknown of the future is a fear Cheers when they call your name All of us are feeling the same Prom, grad parties, and senior retreat Think of all the people we’ll meet Senior year is coming to an end Saying goodbye to your teachers, classmates, & a best friend Class of 2018 will always be the best Our journeys will take us north, south, east, and west Thank you to the class of 2018
Friends have come and, Friends have gone, Some will stick around, And some will move along,
But no matter who they are, I can truly say, Even if they don’t stay, Because I know either way, They’ll remain,
If you ever let go, True friends will hold on tighter, If you ever go dark, True friends will shine brighter,
If you ever feel scared, True friends will be brave, And if you ever feel like giving up, True friends will be there every day,
Strangers will offer you words of hope, Friends will cheer you up with hugs when you need it the most, Best friends will always be there whenever you feel down, But your true friends are already crying with you on the ground,
Remember who your true friends are, And keep them like a hoarder, Because true friends stick to you like an octopus, With Dependent Personality Disorder,
Senior year comes to a halt Only to leave and start new I'm no longer trapped in a vault And I will be forced to find a new crew Senior year flew by And it's almost done I can't help but sigh It's been a long run High school will be missed But I'm glad to move on My true identity will untwist see ya...I'm gone
New beginings are coming Old times are coming to an end So excited for the future And for what is near Separate ways we part Mabye coming together again Pray for all of us As we leave the past behind
Together one last time About to part our ways Class of 2018 is in their prime Write down our feelings as we lay
A room full of people that you have seen years Through the good and the bad We will laugh through the tears There is no time to be sad
We will walk across the stage, standing tall Look around the room As we walk down the hall, one last time I try as I might stall We waited for this day, it did not come soon enough, yet it is gone too soon
Class of 2018, together one last time To pray for everyone to succeed For everyone to achieve their greatest dreams
Graduation is quickly approaching. All the seniors have had much coaching in the ways to live, to learn, and to love. Although school is something we are sick of, we will cherish the memories forever and carry them with us on our next endeavor.
Words of wisdom I try to find But as I do I lose my mind Let's just hope we will be able to cope For the long journey ahead And so... the adventure begins they say With old memories fading away Only for new ones to be made Senior year is almost over let's just hope we all stay sober
Our days here are coming to an end Soon we will have to leave all of our friends I am thankful for all the memories made We have finished 1st through 12th grade Prom being moved changed our plan I have no doubt it will still be grand We walk across the stage very soon Class of 2018 will be over the moon
The senior retreat was full of fun Signaling that high school is almost done High school is just one segment of life It is time to lay down any strife "Everyone has a purpose ahead" We say at the retreat with tears being shed
Emotions running left and right Days past by quick night after night Graduation is coming in a blink of an eye Everyone is ready to give out a sigh Of happiness, exhaustion, and fright too Soon we will no longer have high school classmates to woo We are moving forward preparing for amazing things a head But no matter what I will always love coming home to sleep in my own bed
School is almost over We are as lucky as a four leaf clover Although I will miss my friends I hope we started new trends Brandon Valley has my heart I am sad we have to part Mankato will be my new city I am sure it will be pretty
As high school comes to a close Faces change and children grow Moving to places that we’ve chose Bidding farewell to all we know
Carrying on to something new Classmates now, strangers soon USD, State, Mines, Army, SMSU I’ll miss hanging every afternoon…
We’ve all got to move onward though Different goals take us to different places Goodbye friends, it’s been fun, you know. I’ll see you soon, I await your embraces.
It's the beginning of the end of senior year Slowly, but surely the end is near Time is going slow, but it is also fast Everything we do is becoming a last Eating lunch with friends, going to football games Worried I’m going to forget their names
College plans are all in order My high school career is in its last quarter These are the last times I will see most of my friends Summer 2k18 will be stocked with full sends Send it send it send it I hear my friends say I know that nothing can get in my way of making more memories with the people I love!
Snow about to shine down It makes me wanna frown April showers are no more All this snow is such a bore Prom is coming up Everyone is ready to say sup Put on your snow boots And your snowsuits Making memories good and bad Once the snow is gone I'll be glad
Snow will come this month of April The feeling really is quite painful We were hoping for a sunny sky All we can say to that is "Nice try!" Maybe soon we will feel spring Thus ending this school year with a zing!
Graduation is near It is almost here I will miss my friends when we go off to the college we will attend Summer is coming it is as fun as high school's homecoming I am happy to still be able to play soccer I cannot wait to see what the future will hold!
The night was young It was Friday the 13th The clock had just rung It was time for Prom The bros want Brom Everyone looked so nice We were all having fun The teachers we would entice Then all at once, we said we must run
Soccer season is done The state championship we should've won I'll miss the bright lights above the grass And all the other memories that have now come to pass
a plethora of memories, good and bad but never to be forgotten. friendships forged, fun times we had, but soon to be no longer... sad. for years we saw eachother every day, the memories will never fade. thank you, class of 2018 for the memories we have made.
I wish I had opened my tired eyes earlier in high school. I wish I had looked to others and practiced the Golden Rule. Did I make a difference? Was it enough? A life did I change, a heart did I touch? As I go forth and start my career, I will look back on this time so dear. Thank you, Brandon Valley, for a wonderful time. I will remember you for all of my life.
Our time here is coming to an end We begin to say goodbye As for hurt friendships, it’s time to mend Because soon, we will leave, flying high
We want to leave, but not forget Only a few more months of simplicity remain Because very soon we will sink into a sea of debt But, it is worth it because of the knowledge we’ll gain
We look ahead to life away from home A new home we’ll create We will be free to move and roam But the realization of this independence comes with a weight
Our simple family upbringing creates a feeling of sad love Already, we know we will miss our old simple life We will have to make our own choices and learn to soar above The excitement of things to come can cut the sadness like a knife
Over all the chaos, excitement reigns Our time has come to stand on our own It is time to run and take the reins It is time to stand with a backbone
The end is near That is quite clear Excitement is evident Sadness is also an element
Brandon Valley pride we will always feel The sad feelings that are soon to come are real Leaving behind all we have known Going off into the world alone
The future is near For that, we can cheer Soon it will be graduation day We will finally be on our way
As senior year comes to a close Our responsibility in life only grows With that being said Let's hope we do not drop dead Goodluck to my classmates Life is now in the hands of fate
As senior year comes to a close Our responsibility in life only grows With that being said Let's hope we do not drop dead Goodluck to my classmates Life is now in the hands of fate
Never forget where you came from, No matter how far you come, Remember the good, Don't dwell on the could or would, The memories will beat in your heart like a drum
Spring We are told it is here But the weather does not agree and so it remains cold
Spring visited early in the beginning months Giving us joy that her brother was just about to leave But Winter came back and took us all for chumps And all we can do now is stay in our homes and grieve
The end of our high school career is nearly here You could not tell that by listening to our fears But when the weather warms up you will hear us cheer Not long before we leave our families in tears
Then we will be on our way Starting anew the very next day But we will always have a place to return to The place where the father molded you
Time is always marching forward But I sometimes I wish it would slow Our lives are always moving So quickly and never stop
Now they move faster than ever We forget to pause and look At the ones we love and care for And all too soon They are gone on their own path Leading far away to something new
It is time to keep moving forward It is time to experience new things It is time to plan for the future But it is also time to stop And spend time with the ones we will miss We must cherish the moments we live now
graduation the time that all things expire 2018 I remember 3 months back in December when I peer my eyes out the snow of the midwinters eve I ponder to myself I hope there won't be any snow on prom as we approached the majestic high school I wonder will there be punch sadly there was no punch now I want to punch'
(This poem came directly from the mind of my little brother reflecting about me graduating and how his life will change without his siblings home. Also, he thinks he's hilarious.)
Blues and reds converse As the melody changed, But can only be heard By those estranged From the restraints of common Sonic detectors. Their powers they summon, Act as collectors. They pick and they choose From a pallet of hues To paint the picture. Audiovisual conjecture.
Struggle Enjoyable Not wanting to leave Intense Overwhelming Relaxing Year of lasts Eager for the final year Acting like adults Realizing college is soon
here comes the date I think it will be great looking forward to may even with all the dismay constantly planning most girls are tanning April is finally here even if we shed a tear graduation is soon we all sing a tune but goodbyes are hard so here is a graduation card time is winding down but do not frown summer will be here soon can not wait for June Hailey Stengel
The days are coming to an end Soon it will be our last Saying goodbye to our friends Soon it will be the past Many memories have been made Some never to be lost While others fade But all of them worth the cost Moving on to the next stage Everyone going their separate way Finally, time to flip the page And see where life takes you, good day
Plans were made Now they’ve changed The weatherman said A blizzard’s coming my friends Saturday to Friday New days of the week But don’t worry it’ll be okay So don’t you squeak Tuxes and dresses With lots of stresses We will have fun So don’t you run
burnt orange flashes across the plain birds fly through the breeze without pain the sound of an engine blowing at fifty-five a police car screeching round the corner bright and alive them boys will act like they never been told their story never gets old soaring high as the sky over a bridge they go even though the law never wanted it to be like so blue stripes with white stars shall glow forever freedom their hearts and values shall show that one day the world may know the true quality of this "foe" summer sun heat shinning down laughter gathers all around the one story that brought family together with genuine bond that shall last forever.
With so many eyes, Why will no one see? With so many words, Why will no one speak? The kind words that prove more than meaningless deed; To share love is what this world truly needs.
just a reminder that if you feel unappreciated you are not. the sun rises every single day and not everyone basks in its entirety but that does not make it any less beautiful. you are beauty because you found the courage to rise this morning.
As our senior year comes to a close The future is scary I suppose It will be sad for people to leave But it will be exciting to see what everyone will achieve As we go remember to have pride For all that we have accomplished at Brandon Valley High
Regret crawls out of the shadows— A deep darkness seen by all eyes. Choking, it will dispose peace at the gallows. Shame is heard in voiceless empty cries— A creep in dark restless meadows. Haunting, pain comes with disturbing lies.
The past creeps up, baring its teeth to grace. Never forgetting, it clings to old fears. Relentless is the chase to overtake the peaceful place, But take heart, for light rises to expose new frontiers. Redemption’s light will shine on every face. With glory and grace, forgiveness will wipe lingering tears.
Like morning's first light, the lost will shine bright as gold. No fear! The past is defeated: left dead and pale. Shame and regret have no place in redemption’s hold. Unforgiveness has died, it will fail to tell another tale. At last, rest is found; feel no fear within the Lord’s fold. To the saver of souls, forgiver of all, to the King, all hail.
Everyone is ready to leave, Because they believe. Not knowing it won’t come with ease. There are the people that tease. People look to the next chapter, In the school, it will be last time we are dapper. What is next is unknown to many, But for some their plans are steady. Everyone is ready to leave, Because they believe.
Sometimes you win, Sometimes you lose, Sometimes you're unscathed, And sometimes you bruise, Sometimes you strikeout, And sometimes you hit, Sometimes you're starting, And sometimes you sit, Sometimes you fail, And sometimes you pass, But no matter the outcome, You do it with class.
Excitement is high, temperature is low, plans are crashing and it's all because of snow, Ski U Mah, that's what I now say, goodbye to BV it's the end of my day.
It was the beginning of the end, saying goodbye to my dear friend. High school ending is bitter sweet, college will bring new people to meet. BVHS is one to never forget, thankful for all the people I have met. Now I wish you all good luck on the rest of your journeys and I hope we will all live forever in your memories.
Homecoming has passed, Graduation is coming at last. Winter formal came and went, To Sunday prom was sent.
Confusion, excitement, and sadness is present, Leaving with these feelings make me hesitant. Goodbyes to friends new and old, Hello to North Dakota, ready for the cold.
to a peaceful end we come but we'll all stay under the same sun we can all agree it has been fun the goal is about to be won we are who we are and we did this together all these years despite the weather these memories will last forever to the next chapter, stoping never soon we will part our ways we will see each other another day for our teacher's help we can never repay and the uncountable thank you's I know I could say the thought of the future is very exciting but the journey before was mesmerizing
Anxiety has enveloped my being What are your plans after high school they ask A question ever repeating Searching to find a career is a constantly brooding task
I saw the friends that I will miss Time to reflect and reminisce I said the things I needed to say And then moved on to another day Grade through grade, I had some fun I will be missing everyone From kindergarten to 12 grade I'm happy for the memories I've made

The future is bright and vivid like the sunny blue sky
I've kept close to ones who won't, and far from ones who will lie
100 some days down, now the school is at its ends
Time to approach new people and remember those one friends
About to grasp onto something and hold tight or at least try
Prom is coming
Prom is near,
I hope it does not snow
Or I will have fear
Bright lights, sunny smiles
An audience that seems to stretch for miles
Music flits in the air
Beautiful costumes make everyone stare
The feeling as precious as a flower
Up to the final hour
When the lights go dim
Everyone becomes grim
It is time to say goodbye
Every person lets out a cry
The magic may be fleeting
But it will always be in our hearts, beating
Senior year is ending soon
Once I'm out of high school, I'll be over the moon
I'll miss friends, teachers, and more
But the homework? Not so much; it was quite a bore
As high school stops, college starts
So much in store, hopefully I keep my smarts
As the glitter of the costumes fall, and the spotlights start to fade
A quiet voice grows in the darkness
over black wood floors with scratches from years of memories made
lies a sounds fighting its way to being heard
there stands a curtain drooping in despair as it knows the maroon velvet may never fly once more
the verberations push up the grand knowing it has much to share than just the word
wires lye unused and strewn about with other useless objects
and what lays with them is an idea struggling to be noticed
the silence is ever growing, and dust hangs in the air undisturbed hoping something may finally revitalize it,
but this hope is just a hope, this voice is silence, these memories are all they will ever be, and tears have been shed for the last time
Until the silence is shaken by a single set of footsteps walking into the darkness
a soft thump as each foot hits the ground making pace the center of this stage
the dust moves in the direction of this figure to see what this individual could be up to,
soon glitter is falling to the ground but from where this makes no sense
the black floor is turned to the shiny polish of an opening night and wires seamlessly connected to ports
then the sounds of a single rope are heard, and the magnificent magenta flies around in glee for the first time in years
and last a flip of a switch brings on the buzz of a machine and the striking lighting beam of light hitting the center of the commotion
and here stands what turns hope into truth, memories into reality, and tears into laughter
a single voice has fought to be heard and heard it shall be, for even though the time may pass, a heart of passion can never be silenced
What a mess,
The approaching storm brings,
Causing distress
And fraught with reschedulings
Complaints, grumbles, and fears,
“I can’t believe they can do that to prom!”
I guess they can, as it appears
Gather your aplomb,
For Friday, not Saturday, is the night
And hopefully our ending to senior year will be alright...
A storm approaches
Threatening and stressful
Rescheduling, replanning, revising
What a mess!
How could we know?
Why is it so?
But..........
This too will pass
Triumphantly this class will march onward
2018
A class of Strength
Endurance and intelligence
Hundreds of hearts
Hundreds of dreams and wishes and plans
Hundreds of paths that will be taken
Planned and unplanned
Here and there
Left and right
Up and Down
Hundreds of jobs
Thousands of lives touched
However
Each unique
Each wonderful
beautiful beloved becoming
loving learning and leaving
Each important
Graduation is almost here
People going near and far
Chest rising up with fear
Will I ever see my friends again?
Goodbyes said
Tears shed
Each one going their own way
Living out a different day
But no matter how far
We may drift apart
The miles on the car
One thing is for certain
We stay close at heart
The end of our time here is coming near,
But one thing is clear:
We must go our separate ways
In just a few short days.
We must pave our own paths and follow our dreams.
Pretty soon, too, it seems.
Everyone should connect with old friends
Before high school ends.
As our time comes to a close,
We are going to find out what we will miss the most.
Soon we must say goodbye
And then become BVHS alumni.
Goodbye is what I will say
When all my friends go their own way.
Smiles go to a frown
Everything goes upside down.
A journey is ahead of us
There is no need to fuss.
Happy times will come
The feeling will go numb.
It is our time to shine
Just wait in line.
Excitement is all I feel
As graduation day approaches
Excitement for what the future holds
The inevitability encroaches
Independence is near
On that stage, one foot after the other
We will all say our good-byes
But I am really going to miss my mother
Hugs were given
Goodbyes were said
But late at night as I laid in my bed
Words unspoken filled me like lead.
Words of
"It's over!"
"So glad we're done!"
"Man, high school has really been fun!"
"I thought you would miss me."
"What haven't I done?"
"I should have invited her to come."
Some good
And some bad
Tragically happy
My thoughts were either
Sappy or snappy.
But in the end,
We can all agree
That high school will
Always be part of our memory.
A senior retreat has brightened my mood
Only to be crushed by prom getting moved
The musical is over and all I can say
Is that I’m glad i’m a senior and it’s almost may
The senior Retreat is over
It is hard to keep my composure
That is because the end is near
for the 2018 senior year
I didn't know how much you wanted so I just wrote a second one.
Another school year, come and gone
But this one is different, it hits you like a bomb
Cause this is the last year of grade school

The true talent of the class of 2018 will finally be exposed

To one day look back
and know that we left nothing behind
Our year is coming to an end
Doing our best to make amends
Enjoying the time we have left
Making more and more memories to be kept
Time at Brandon Valley has been fun
Looking forward to whats to come
Prom is being moved
At the high school will it be
It is the last one
Graduation is near
The unknown of the future is a fear
Cheers when they call your name
All of us are feeling the same
Prom, grad parties, and senior retreat
Think of all the people we’ll meet
Senior year is coming to an end
Saying goodbye to your teachers, classmates, & a best friend
Class of 2018 will always be the best
Our journeys will take us north, south, east, and west
Thank you to the class of 2018

Remember who your true friends are,
And keep them like a hoarder,
Because true friends stick to you like an octopus,
With Dependent Personality Disorder,
Senior year comes to a halt
Only to leave and start new
I'm no longer trapped in a vault
And I will be forced to find a new crew
Senior year flew by
And it's almost done
I can't help but sigh
It's been a long run
High school will be missed
But I'm glad to move on
My true identity will untwist
see ya...I'm gone
A few weeks of school is all thats left
homework and tests coming to an end
students letting out their final breath
hopping on the summer trend.
As the year draws to an end,
I hope that we can leave as friends,
Although the years have been tough,
I feel like I still haven't had enough,
I have left it all on the field,
I have had my hopes repealed,
I have given it all for my brothers,
I have lost none to the others,
Now it is time to say goodbye,
All I can say is that I try,
I hope that all of the others succeed,
Maybe one day hope is all they need.
Excitement but sadness
finally the end to all this stress
senior year is coming to an end
but a goodbye to a good friend
lots of memories have come about
everyone wants to scream and shout
the end is near
but have no fear
The end is coming
The end is near
Oh boy
Oh dear.

Separate ways we part
Mabye coming together again
Pray for all of us
As we leave the past behind
Together one last time
About to part our ways
Class of 2018 is in their prime
Write down our feelings as we lay
A room full of people that you have seen years
Through the good and the bad
We will laugh through the tears
There is no time to be sad
We will walk across the stage, standing tall
Look around the room
As we walk down the hall, one last time I try as I might stall
We waited for this day, it did not come soon enough, yet it is gone too soon
Class of 2018, together one last time

With old memories fading away
Only for new ones to be made
Senior year is almost over
let's just hope we all stay sober
heels do not go
with all of the snow
hip hip hooray
moved to Friday
dinner and dates
hope prom will be great!
Our days here are coming to an end
Soon we will have to leave all of our friends
I am thankful for all the memories made
We have finished 1st through 12th grade
Prom being moved changed our plan
I have no doubt it will still be grand
We walk across the stage very soon
Class of 2018 will be over the moon
The senior retreat was full of fun
Signaling that high school is almost done
High school is just one segment of life
It is time to lay down any strife
"Everyone has a purpose ahead"
We say at the retreat with tears being shed
Senior Year
Emotions running left and right
Days past by quick night after night
Graduation is coming in a blink of an eye
Everyone is ready to give out a sigh
Of happiness, exhaustion, and fright too
Soon we will no longer have high school classmates to woo
We are moving forward preparing for amazing things a head
But no matter what I will always love coming home to sleep in my own bed
School is almost over
We are as lucky as a four leaf clover
Although I will miss my friends
I hope we started new trends
Brandon Valley has my heart
I am sad we have to part
Mankato will be my new city
I am sure it will be pretty
As high school comes to a close
Faces change and children grow
Moving to places that we’ve chose
Bidding farewell to all we know
Carrying on to something new
Classmates now, strangers soon
USD, State, Mines, Army, SMSU
I’ll miss hanging every afternoon…
We’ve all got to move onward though
Different goals take us to different places
Goodbye friends, it’s been fun, you know.
I’ll see you soon, I await your embraces.
It's the beginning of the end of senior year
Slowly, but surely the end is near
Time is going slow, but it is also fast
Everything we do is becoming a last
Eating lunch with friends, going to football games
Worried I’m going to forget their names
College plans are all in order
My high school career is in its last quarter
These are the last times I will see most of my friends
Summer 2k18 will be stocked with full sends
Send it send it send it
I hear my friends say
I know that nothing can get in my way
of making more memories with the people I love!
Snow about to shine down
It makes me wanna frown
April showers are no more
All this snow is such a bore
Prom is coming up
Everyone is ready to say sup
Put on your snow boots
And your snowsuits
Making memories good and bad
Once the snow is gone I'll be glad
Snow will come this month of April
The feeling really is quite painful
We were hoping for a sunny sky
All we can say to that is "Nice try!"
Maybe soon we will feel spring
Thus ending this school year with a zing!
It's getting closer to May
I can not wait for that day
Going to be free
Oh how happy I'll be
Finally on my way
Prom comes and goes
Hopefully, none of us create foes
And yet time flies
Just got to think about the good times
Graduation Day is near
Yet I have no fear
Just look at classmates as they smile
For each and every one has some guile
Growing up so fast
Man how the time has past
Felt like high school was going so slow
Hard to think that I came here four years ago
Friends are made and people are forgot
Everyone is different but most never fought
Amazing things are learned while in school
People try to fit in with the cool
The year is almost done
It is time to have some fun
The final prom is here
A happy sad time of the year
A huge part of life about to be finished
Man will it be reminisced
Graduation is near
It is almost here
I will miss my friends
when we go off to the college we will attend
Summer is coming
it is as fun as high school's homecoming
I am happy to still be able to play soccer
I cannot wait to see what the future will hold!
The night was young
It was Friday the 13th
The clock had just rung
It was time for Prom
The bros want Brom
Everyone looked so nice
We were all having fun
The teachers we would entice
Then all at once, we said we must run
Soccer season is done
The state championship we should've won
I'll miss the bright lights above the grass
And all the other memories that have now come to pass
a plethora of memories,
good and bad
but never to be forgotten.
friendships forged, fun times
we had, but soon
to be no longer... sad.
for years we saw eachother
every day, the memories
will never fade. thank you, class of 2018
for the memories we have made.
Snow on prom haiku
Covered in snow, me and you
I guess we'll make do
Four long years come to an end
Homework, tests, projects, then,
Worse than school, falling outs with friends
Four short years come to a close,
The end is here before we know
Separate ways we all will go
High-school, Good, Bad? Who knows.
I wish I had opened my tired eyes earlier in high school.
I wish I had looked to others and practiced the Golden Rule.
Did I make a difference? Was it enough?
A life did I change, a heart did I touch?
As I go forth and start my career,
I will look back on this time so dear.
Thank you, Brandon Valley, for a wonderful time.
I will remember you for all of my life.
Our time here is coming to an end
We begin to say goodbye
As for hurt friendships, it’s time to mend
Because soon, we will leave, flying high
We want to leave, but not forget
Only a few more months of simplicity remain
Because very soon we will sink into a sea of debt
But, it is worth it because of the knowledge we’ll gain
We look ahead to life away from home
A new home we’ll create
We will be free to move and roam
But the realization of this independence comes with a weight
Our simple family upbringing creates a feeling of sad love
Already, we know we will miss our old simple life
We will have to make our own choices and learn to soar above
The excitement of things to come can cut the sadness like a knife
Over all the chaos, excitement reigns
Our time has come to stand on our own
It is time to run and take the reins
It is time to stand with a backbone
The end is near
That is quite clear
Excitement is evident
Sadness is also an element
Brandon Valley pride we will always feel
The sad feelings that are soon to come are real
Leaving behind all we have known
Going off into the world alone
The future is near
For that, we can cheer
Soon it will be graduation day
We will finally be on our way
Cinderella has closed
My heart feels exposed
While lasts are sad
Firsts will be glad
Graduation is near
The day will be dear
We will celebrate accomplishments
And accept acknowledgements
As senior year comes to a close
Our responsibility in life only grows
With that being said
Let's hope we do not drop dead
Goodluck to my classmates
Life is now in the hands of fate
As senior year comes to a close
Our responsibility in life only grows
With that being said
Let's hope we do not drop dead
Goodluck to my classmates
Life is now in the hands of fate
Never forget where you came from,
No matter how far you come,
Remember the good,
Don't dwell on the could or would,
The memories will beat in your heart like a drum
I died to start it all.
I died to give my child a vocation.
I died when I heard a call.
I died to start a nation.
I died for something holy.
I died to make a quick buck.
I died to give myself some glory.
I died for somebody else’s luck.
I died for social change.
I died defending that.
I died trying to stop that change.
I died while others sat.
All of my predecessors died for something,
all of them had meaning in their lives,
what if I were to die for nothing?
Spring
We are told it is here
But the weather does not agree
and so it remains cold
Spring visited early in the beginning months
Giving us joy that her brother was just about to leave
But Winter came back and took us all for chumps
And all we can do now is stay in our homes and grieve
The end of our high school career is nearly here
You could not tell that by listening to our fears
But when the weather warms up you will hear us cheer
Not long before we leave our families in tears
Then we will be on our way
Starting anew the very next day
But we will always have a place to return to
The place where the father molded you
Our last year is almost at its end,
It's hard to believe and comprehend.
Although our paths may go different ways,
we must never forget these amazing days.
As we begin a journey like never before,
we must be brave and open up the new door.
As we spread our wings and take flight,
we are going to start on a path that is o so bright.
When we leave each other in what will be the blink of an eye
always remember to say see you later not goodbye.
Time is always marching forward
But I sometimes I wish it would slow
Our lives are always moving
So quickly and never stop
Now they move faster than ever
We forget to pause and look
At the ones we love and care for
And all too soon
They are gone on their own path
Leading far away to something new
It is time to keep moving forward
It is time to experience new things
It is time to plan for the future
But it is also time to stop
And spend time with the ones we will miss
We must cherish the moments we live now
Ice, moving slow, grows,
crystallizing over glass
Nothing, through window shows,
clouding to slate
graduation the time that all things expire
2018 I remember 3 months back in December
when I peer my eyes out the snow of the midwinters eve
I ponder to myself I hope there won't be any snow on prom
as we approached the majestic high school
I wonder will there be punch
sadly there was no punch
now I want to punch'
(This poem came directly from the mind of my little brother reflecting about me graduating and how his life will change without his siblings home. Also, he thinks he's hilarious.)
Our final year has come to an end
We never thought we would depend
On snow in April to ruin our fun
And never being able to see the sun
Many games have been postponed
Which sends a shiver down our bones
Like the snow, we cannot comprehend
Our final year has come to an end
The retreat was fun
but it's ironically named
it is now done
and no one was maimed
some tears were shed
some fun times were had
the seniors will ebb
and many are sad
though we're happy to progress
our emotions are a mess
I wish you all the best
and your lives full of zest
There is no summer
Only winter part two
It really is a bummer
I want some sun too
The Midwest is a mess
What are we all to do?
Maybe play some chess
Or make hot chocolate too
Our final year is almost done
It has been very fun
I can't wait for summer
Yet working will be a bummer
I hope this summer is not a fast one
The weather is oh so dreary
People are not very cheery
The ground may be white
My eyes full of fright
I hope it’s just a theory
Blues and reds converse
As the melody changed,
But can only be heard
By those estranged
From the restraints of common
Sonic detectors.
Their powers they summon,
Act as collectors.
They pick and they choose
From a pallet of hues
To paint the picture.
Audiovisual conjecture.
An acrostic poem representing senior year
Struggle
Enjoyable
Not wanting to leave
Intense
Overwhelming
Relaxing
Year of lasts
Eager for the final year
Acting like adults
Realizing college is soon
here comes the date
I think it will be great
looking forward to may
even with all the dismay
constantly planning
most girls are tanning
April is finally here
even if we shed a tear
graduation is soon
we all sing a tune
but goodbyes are hard
so here is a graduation card
time is winding down
but do not frown
summer will be here soon
can not wait for June
Hailey Stengel
The days are coming to an end
Soon it will be our last
Saying goodbye to our friends
Soon it will be the past
Many memories have been made
Some never to be lost
While others fade
But all of them worth the cost
Moving on to the next stage
Everyone going their separate way
Finally, time to flip the page
And see where life takes you, good day
Plans were made
Now they’ve changed
The weatherman said
A blizzard’s coming my friends
Saturday to Friday
New days of the week
But don’t worry it’ll be okay
So don’t you squeak
Tuxes and dresses
With lots of stresses
We will have fun
So don’t you run
I know it now, it’s clear to me
The time is coming soon you see
We shall wear our cap and gown
We are to say goodbye now
Change is good, I hear this daily
But I don’t believe what the are saying
I like it here, I know my place
I’ll miss seeing your smiling face
Sign my book and keep in touch
I just love you all so much
Suddenly I feel so alone
Can I really do this on my own?
College life will be ten times harder
But with support, it won't be a bother
I hope I make some new friends soon
And of course, I wish the same for you
burnt orange flashes across the plain
birds fly through the breeze without pain
the sound of an engine blowing at fifty-five
a police car screeching round the corner bright and alive
them boys will act like they never been told
their story never gets old
soaring high as the sky over a bridge they go
even though the law never wanted it to be like so
blue stripes with white stars shall glow
forever freedom their hearts and values shall show
that one day the world may know
the true quality of this "foe"
summer sun heat shinning down
laughter gathers all around
the one story that brought family together
with genuine bond that shall last forever.
Spring does not want to come
It hopes to ruin our fun
We will not let it
Prom will still be lit
But I will be happy when it is done
As senior year comes to an end
we all mourn as we lose our friends,
but do not fear this tragic loss
for in the future, our paths may cross
a whole new world will open wide
and one great leap we will stride
for all of us, our future is bright,
but for now, let's keep senior year light
With so many eyes,
Why will no one see?
With so many words,
Why will no one speak?
The kind words that prove more than meaningless deed;
To share love is what this world truly needs.
just a reminder that if you feel unappreciated you are not. the sun rises every single day and not everyone basks in its entirety but that does not make it any less beautiful. you are beauty because you found the courage to rise this morning.
As our senior year comes to a close
The future is scary I suppose
It will be sad for people to leave
But it will be exciting to see what everyone will achieve
As we go remember to have pride
For all that we have accomplished at Brandon Valley High
Regret crawls out of the shadows—
A deep darkness seen by all eyes.
Choking, it will dispose peace at the gallows.
Shame is heard in voiceless empty cries—
A creep in dark restless meadows.
Haunting, pain comes with disturbing lies.
The past creeps up, baring its teeth to grace.
Never forgetting, it clings to old fears.
Relentless is the chase to overtake the peaceful place,
But take heart, for light rises to expose new frontiers.
Everyone is ready to leave,
Because they believe.
Not knowing it won’t come with ease.
There are the people that tease.
People look to the next chapter,
In the school, it will be last time we are dapper.
What is next is unknown to many,
But for some their plans are steady.
Everyone is ready to leave,
Because they believe.
Sometimes you win,
Sometimes you lose,
Sometimes you're unscathed,
And sometimes you bruise,
Sometimes you strikeout,
And sometimes you hit,
Sometimes you're starting,
And sometimes you sit,
Sometimes you fail,
And sometimes you pass,
But no matter the outcome,
You do it with class.
Excitement is high,
temperature is low,
plans are crashing
and it's all because of snow,
Ski U Mah,
that's what I now say,
goodbye to BV
it's the end of my day.
It was the beginning of the end,
saying goodbye to my dear friend.
High school ending is bitter sweet,
college will bring new people to meet.
BVHS is one to never forget,
thankful for all the people I have met.
Now I wish you all good luck on the rest of your journeys
and I hope we will all live forever in your memories.
Grace Bennett
should run for Senate
she is awesome
like a possum
her voice is loud
her words are proud
Homecoming has passed,
Graduation is coming at last.
Winter formal came and went,
To Sunday prom was sent.
Confusion, excitement, and sadness is present,
Leaving with these feelings make me hesitant.
Goodbyes to friends new and old,
Hello to North Dakota, ready for the cold.
to a peaceful end we come
but we'll all stay under the same sun
we can all agree it has been fun
the goal is about to be won
we are who we are and we did this together
all these years despite the weather
these memories will last forever
to the next chapter, stoping never
soon we will part our ways
we will see each other another day
for our teacher's help we can never repay
and the uncountable thank you's I know I could say
the thought of the future is very exciting
but the journey before was mesmerizing
Anxiety has enveloped my being
What are your plans after high school they ask
A question ever repeating
Searching to find a career is a constantly brooding task
Hard work for twelve years,
all the projects we made,
the blood, sweat, and tears
that we poured into our grades
Through frenemies and friends,
through relationships we grew,
we made our amends,
and realized we knew
That through the awkwardness of middle school
most made it out alright,
now we are at a time where seniors rule
and greeted with respite
Until we move on next year
to wherever we may go,
some will find a new fear
of being forced to fly solo
There seems so much to do
and there's so little time that's left,
not sure yet how we'll get through
each day gets stolen in a theft
Senioritis, in our case,
is the foe of GPA,
now we enter a new place,
where to learn things we must pay
But with all we leave behind
through all the fun and all the stress,
I wish I simply could rewind
to all the times that we've been blessed
Because when it all goes down,
when all our memories are unfurled,
When we wear that cap and gown,
we wouldn't trade any of it for the world
I saw the friends that I will miss
Time to reflect and reminisce
I said the things I needed to say
And then moved on to another day
Grade through grade, I had some fun
I will be missing everyone
From kindergarten to 12 grade
I'm happy for the memories I've made
It is all over soon
The last one, come and gone
Classmates you've been with forever
Soon you may never see
Enjoy the final days
It is all over soon
