We have finally made it to the end of the year, and the end of our journey of English 210: Introduction to Literature. From all the things we have studied, I feel I have been thoroughly, but yet only minutely introduced to literature. I say this only because of the vast concept that literature is. In class, we have studied novels, poems, short stories, plays, and basic literary terms, but that really only skims the surface of what literature truly is. There is only so much you can fit into a 5 month semester, but of the stuff we covered, I feel we have gone deeply into. Literature is a hard topic to learn, but an even harder one to teach. I, for one, would like to thank Mr. C for bringing us along this treacherous, but rewarding adventure. You honestly made learning literature fun and mostly easy.

English 210: Introduction to Literature, one of the few classes I do not mind attending. I feel I was fairly close with literature before I entered this class, however, I most definitely feel an immense increase in my respect for the art of it. Mr. Christensen has done a fantastic job at making that a possibility. Literature has always been a friend but now I dare say that it is family to me. I have been successfully reintroduced to the fantastical world of literature. Thanks to the Mr. Matthew Christensen. I cannot even watch movies without looking for the hidden meaning now, so thank you very much for that.

As this semester comes to a close, along with the commencement of English 210: Introduction to Literature, I am emerging a much more informed, refined individual in the art of Literature. Though at times it was immensely confusing, and others quite challenging, I feel I have been exposed to numerous novels of which have had an impact on the way I view this expanse world around me. Though we have not done a plethora of novels throughout the semester, we have learned a significant amount about each (considering how deep into our studies we went). In conclusion, I learned a lot, I feel smarter, and I am glad that I had the opportunity to enjoy this class with Mr. C as a professor. He made the experience enjoyable and that much more enlightening.

I do feel that I have been properly introduced to literature in this class. When we were talking about the literary lens and watching the Lion King, I had no idea what to write or what the literary lens were. Now, I have written a seventeen page manifesto on them and I never ran out of a thing to say. I have never looked so deeply into literature and I’m glad that I have. I do not think I would have enjoyed the books we read in this class as much if we did not analyze them like we did. I think I have a new respect for literature and I have most certainly been properly introduced.

I feel that I have been properly introduced to literature in this class. I have learned to look at novels differently and how to see their deeper meanings. We have always read novels and then took a test over them for as long as I have gone to school, and now in this class we discuss the novels in way I have never done before. Now not only do I have my own viewpoint for consideration, but also eight or nine others. It makes me understand the novel in a way I never imagined I would. This class has made me think harder and I enjoyed the challenge. I have never looked at literature in these literary lens before and now I have, without a doubt, been properly introduced to literature.

The end of the school year is nearing as is my high school experience. English 210: Intro to lit has been a challenging yet fun experience for me and I will not forget it. While at times I found myself not liking some of the essay topics or the novels that were beginning to read, I found a way to pull through them because of the great teacher that helped me accomplish those tasks. This class was the beginning for the next 4 years of my college experience and I feel it has well prepared me for the english classes that I will be taking.

English 210: Intro to Literature has been a wave of emotions for me and others. Some days it’s nice to just relax and work on whatever I want. Other days there is so much that needed to be done it felt like hell. Overall I think that Intro to Literature has been a great class that has “introduced” me to new literature and helped me accept and like it. This would have been daunting without the help of the incredible Mr. C, who is all knowing and accepting and cheerful with all.

I have read more books in the past 4 months than I have in the past 4 years. And I loved every minute of it. This course has definitely introduced me to new literature and the movements that new literature came from. Just about the only thing I liked and disliked about the class is how little of time we spent studying the history of literature and the movements, authors, reasons for books, etc. However, the reason I liked this is that I am more able to focus on reading and focusing on understanding the text in front of me, which was augmented from the forums every Friday. After I found out that I was in the class I was terrified but, now that it is almost over I am extremely happy that I decided to challenge myself in this way.

I have always had a love for English and literature, and this course strengthened that passion. This class has been the highlight of my day, everyday, for this past year. I am pursuing a career in English and I think this class has made me more excited for it than ever. I do not think anyone could ever be properly introduced to literature because of all of its complexities and double, triple, and quadruple meanings, but I do think this class has let me shake hands with it. These English courses from this year were amazing, and it is all because of Mr. C and his passion for teaching. There is no one more suited to teach this class. Because of Mr. C, I have a greater appreciation for literature, teaching, and English as a whole. My only wish would be to have more time for this course and Mr. C's teachings.

After taking this class, I feel as though I have immensely expanded my literary knowledge and “introduction” to different literature works. I definitely feel more comfortable discussing and expanding my thoughts on novels, short stories, terms, or poetry with others. Also, I have become better at digging deeper into the readings and finding my own thoughts on what the author possibly meant. Even though Mr. C has “introduced” me to literature more than I previously had been, there is never a time one should stop learning the subject area, for especially in the literature realm, there is always more to read.

Throughout my semester of English 210: Introduction to Literature, I feel as if I have been introduced to the best of my ability to just simply the beginnings of literature works and theories. I have grown in different ways of being able to expand on speaking my thoughts, finding different theories throughout readings, and showing my own "ideas" that the author has portrayed to me throughout their work. I could not have been able to achieve this without the help of Mr. C. Thank you for teaching the class in different interesting ways and allowing us to feel enthused and enjoyed in this class. I truly appreciate all you have helped me learn through my writing, reading, and speaking.

As a junior signing up for this class last year I had one thought on my mind: college class, yikes. But the way this class is taught prepares you for what is to come, not only in the rest of the semester but also for life. My writing and reading skills have grown exponentially, along with my interest for literature. I can’t think of another class that has better prepared me for college and life. After taking the class, I’d say that “yikes” is an accurate portrayal of this class. It is challenging, but it’s nothing we can’t handle when we put our best foot forward. Thank you Mr. C for what you do. Without you this class would not have been nearly as manageable as it was. I think you’ve found your purpose, and thank you for helping me as I find mine.

I feel as though I have not been introduced to literature until I enrolled in this class. I feel as though the years of English leading up to this year have been barely scratching the surface of what a novel, play, poem, or story is about. This made English classes unenjoyable to me; however, this class has instilled a love of literature in me, and although it does not make me want to perhaps pursue a career in the English/Literature field like some students, it does make me want to continue reading and expanding my knowledge. Thusly, I would like to thank Mr. C and all of the other students for making this class one of my all time favorites and for making this class enjoyable.

English 210: Introduction to Literature has been one of the few classes that I have regretted missing all year long. In the past years I have not been able to read as much as I would have liked to, which gave me a reason to take this class. This class would allow me to read classic novels in literature and as I read them my parents also remembered reading them. I do feel like I have properly been introduced into literature now and will hopefully be able to continue reading as I move past high school and even past college. I thank you, Mr. Christensen, for helping me prepare myself for 4 more years of college english classes, and for helping me obtain a better understanding of literature.

Last year, while I was deciding my senior classes, I had no idea this particular class would become one of my favorites. This class has taught me so much about not only literature but about life. I feel like I can view life and situations differently due to the knowledge I have gained while taking the class. Alongside that, I truly appreciate this class for the fact that it makes you actually think about the literature and really question it. Finally, I wanna say thank you. Mr. Christensen, you have made an impact in my life and have helped me to push my abilities. I will continue to recommend this class to all underclassman.

As the semester comes to a close, I have been reflecting on this class. I believe I have learned more in this class than in any of my other classes this semester, and I think I have been properly introduced to literature. Over the semester, I have studied several of the works in the literary canon, and I have a good base of knowledge on famous poems, short stories, and novels. I also learned more about Shakespeare by studying Othello. Furthermore, I have developed skills in literary criticism and am now able to analyze literature and movies through various literary lenses. After this class, I do not think I will ever be able to watch a movie again without analyzing it in-depth. In addition, I have learned much about literary history and categorizations. I also now understand and am able to recognize literary devices. I believe I have gained extensive foundational knowledge about literature and about a variety of literary works. Thus, I feel like I have been properly introduced to literature. I am grateful to Mr. C for being an amazing teacher and for making this class so educational and enjoyable.

With the end of the year fast approaching, I believe my first college literature class has introduced me to the literary world well. Obviously, we only scratched the surface of what literature has to offer, but the amount of things I learned in this class will help me dive into whatever comes next. With so many novels, plays, short stories, poems there is so much to learn from literature. One of the best things I will take from this class is the right way to analyze what I am reading. Before this class, I would have never thought about literary lenses and the deeper meanings behind many of the novels we read. Learning to connect history through literature has given me a better understanding of why some of the events of history have happened. Through English 210, I have a deeper appreciation and understanding for literature, and am excited to see where I can take my new knowledge outside of this class.

Before taking English 210: Introduction to Literature, literature was something that I did not enjoy at all. After taking this course I have found a new appreciation for literature and also realized how much I enjoy analyzing it. In this course, I found out that I enjoy reading novels that involve weird elements and have the connection between the characters and reader like in Martel's novels and in the future I will read more of his novels. Through the course we were introduced to many different types literature and we were able to choose what we like and do not like and discuss it with other people. I really enjoyed this class and would recommend it in the future. I feel like this course has properly introduced me to literature and has given me the tools to continue reading and analyzing not only literature but other forms of expression in the future.

As my high school career comes to an end I can reflect properly on all my classes and say by far this has been my favorite. Introduction to Literature has allowed me to continue my love of reading by showing me how to dive deeper into the pages and find the missing clues. Also by introducing us to forums it not only stepped me out of the comfort zone but offered other peoples opinions on the novels we read which produced me to think harder and to be more thoughtful when reading. Overall the class has presented useful knowledge that I will be continuing to use for the rest of my learning career.

As the end of the year draws near, I believe I have been properly introduced to literature which I previously had not been. Learning all about literature has been good and bad at the same time. While I now know how to analyze literature better, I also cannot watch a disney movie without trying to find a hidden symbol. The Lion King will never be the same for me again. I loved the reading aspect the books we read were for the most part easy reads. The analyzing is what made the task more daunting. Diving into the literature has been new for me as I had never even heard about the literary lens we have learned, it opened up my eyes to the new world of literature. Also, having Mr. Christensen as a teacher did not hurt my writing/analyzing; in fact, it made it one hundred times better. Mr. Christensen and Miss Bryant have been the driving force to my learning and understanding of the english language. I will highly recommend this class to others throughout the school, loved learning a whole new take on the literature of english.

I think this class completely lived up to its name, English 210: Introduction to Literature. Reading multiple novels, poems, and short stories, the class was exposed to countless examples of different literary works. It is nearly impossible to actually read everything assigned and not claim to be introduced to literature. We were exposed to a very wide variety of works, which provided even more background in literature. Written in different countries, settings, and time periods, the literature was very unique and thought-provoking. Even if a person hated every single book (which I do not think anyone did), they would still leave the class as a more intelligent and worldly person.

I really didn't know what to expect when I decided to take Introduction to Literature. I knew that we were going to be reading, yes, but I wasn't quite sure exactly what we were going to be reading. I think the course definitely is an introduction to literature. There is enough books to keep us busy throughout the semester, but the class was interesting. Some students absolutely hate reading books, and everyone that I have talked to that is in the class this year had at least one book that they enjoyed reading. There was also a wide range of literature, we didn't focus on just one genre which was nice. I personally have a really hard time reading shakespeare, but the way that it was taught in the classroom allowed me to understand it a lot more versus if we would have just read the text straight out of the book. I think this class allowed all of us to get out of our box. When we find a genre of literature that we enjoy, we usually stick to it, but with this class you have to explore other genres as well. This class allowed us to read some of the best literature that is out there, which is something that all of us can be thankful for.

This amazing year of English 210 has been very enjoyable and fun to be in. I have learned bountiful amounts of new knowledge and recapped on things that I have been introduced in the past years. I would agree 100 percent that this year has introduced me to the real meaning of literature and knowing exactly how to use the tools we have been given. I feel very confident going out of this class into my life and next years with the experience I have had in this class. I appreciate all that you (Mr. C) have done for us and the many literary works you have introduced us to. The picks you gave us an opportunity to read were by far challenging but helped me become a better reader and writer. I believe almost all of this class would be able to agree with me that you have helped us tremendously.

Throughout the course of the course English 210, I feel as if I have been properly introduced to literature. I think the best and only way to be introduced to and learn literature is simply by reading. Reading is exactly what we have accomplished in this class. By covering a decent amount of novels in various genres, I think all the students in the class have been introduced to the literature by being forced to read. Reading has never been a problem for me because I have always enjoyed it, but I think that making kids get into books is the first step to developing any appreciation to literature.

I do feel that I have been properly introduced to literature. This course covered all different types of literature. I loved that we read novels, plays, and poems. I thought the essays were good ways of using literary lenses (also important aspects of literature) to understand what we were studying on a deeper level. The manifesto kind of combines both comp and lit. I get to use the tools I learned in comp to write about literature. I am doing the narrative. I’m finding that my understanding of literature and how authors write has provided me with the tools necessary to write a 24 page story. Thank you to Mr. C for wholly introducing me to literature.

Even though Intro to Lit is technically a college class, taking it in a high school setting with parts of high school english immersed in it has made it a bit more understandable. This class was amazing for getting me prepared for college and I feel like I will be able to help my friends who are taking the class next year to some ability. The same goes for composition. I was able to write papers beforehand but I can tell that I have improved in my writing so much and it honestly feels great! Next year I have to take composition 2 and I feel like I will have a better chance than many of my classmates due to the experience I have had. I’m really glad that Mr. C was the teacher for this class because I feel like he made it enjoyable in his own unique way. He’s very passionate about his class and he tries to not only get us into it, but random students in the hallways. Thanks Mr. C for the amazing year and I’ll definitely be taking what I’ve learned with me throughout life.

I believe that I have been properly introduced to literature through not only Literature 210 but also the Honours English programme at the high school. Introduction to Literature 210 was more of a seamless extension to the Honours courses that gave a sturdy foundation for the college class. This course in particular taught me the works of Kesey and Golding that I would have never experienced before. The concept of analyzing the Lion King (Who knew it had such subtle symbols and messages!?) was great fun and a great teaching tool. It prepared me and allowed me to understand the in-depth analysis that is required to succeed at this course. Because of this course, I believe that I will be well prepared for any reading or creative analysis required from me in university.

As English 201: Introduction to Literature is coming to an end, I do feel as if I have retained and learned great amounts of information. At the beginning of the semester, when we watched The Lion King, I was confused as if to know what any of the literary lenses even were. As the semester continued on, reading the novels improved my skills and expanded my knowledge of the outside world. I learned how to dig into the deeper meanings of these novels, my favorite being Life of Pi. I enjoyed the challenge of this class, because english classes have not been my strong point in school.

Ending near my lit experience I look back and see how creatively it was all set out. Knowing how some professors teach their courses I am very thankful that you, Mr. C has taken our lives into consideration. You have pushed us the right amount to where it is challenging but attainable. I will say at the start of the year I was freaked knowing I was going to have and write five page essays about things I probably wouldn’t care about, but you have made it fun and interesting to learn about. Thank you for helping me grow inside and outside of the classroom. There are no amount of words I can say to truly thank you.

Yes, I do feel that I have been properly introduced to literature because of this class, English 210: Introduction to Literature. I have learned to analyze the deeper meanings of books rather than just read them and not process the message it is telling. It has been challenging at times, but nothing I could not handle. It has made me reach higher for the goals that I want to accomplish. I want to thank you, Mr. C, for preparing me for life after high school, and for pushing me to perform at the best of my abilities.

5 Novels, 23 short stories and 31 poems. If, by this time, you believe you still need more of an introduction to literature, I don’t know how to help you. An introductory course is necessary only to set you on the right path. It provides basic skills that are critical to the continuation of your own learning. Assignments such as the literary lens essay, have furnished an appreciation for different worldviews, and have added another tool to utilize while deciphering and pondering a novel. The weekly forums have facilitated an environment in which every person in the class has had the opportunity to develop not only their critical analysis skills, but also communication and study skills. Even after all this, we have just barely scratched the surface. It will take several lifetimes to fully understand everything there is in literature, but this class has provided an amazing springboard to start my own personal study. Thank you for the truly wonderful opportunity it has been to be in your class!

This course, I feel, has been highly beneficial to me. Not only have I learned about so much Literature, I have also learned about time management and just trying your best. This is one of the few classes that I have actually enjoyed attending and it did not feel like a drag. It is interesting and entertaining while also being informing. I liked how most of the time you were being taught by other students which helps make it much more relatable and easier to soak in. Although many seniors have very low motivation, Mr C. helps us push through that lack of motivation by giving us class time in order to complete these assignments. I am glad I was able to take this class to learn more about Literature in a fun way, thanks Mr. Christensen!

I feel like I have been thoroughly introduced to literature. I really enjoy reading books and being able to discuss them on a deeper level than just what is going on in my own head. I don't think that I would have voluntarily chosen the books that we have read in the class of my own accord, but having read them, I am glad to say that I have had the opportunity to enjoy such wondrous literature. Thank you for teaching me about all of the different types of books out there that I do not think I would have chosen to read on my own if it wasn't for you. So thank you, Mr. C.

I consider myself a pretty well read man, to the surprise of many. I have read a multitude of books in many genres throughout my life. I used to loath reading back in the day but that changed my 3rd grade year thanks to my teacher, Mrs. Zimmer. Who knows what she did but she unlocked my passion for reading. Once it was unlocked I couldn't read enough; but, as the school years progressed I found myself with less and less time to read. With the time I did have I found myself going back to the same genre over and over again since I enjoyed a magical, alternative world that was an escape from reality. For my free reading time I stayed with one style of book, I limited myself. But through this class, I re-found the joy that other style of books can bring. Reading books in the class didn't feel much like a chore to do but something I wanted to do, unlike some of my other English Classes. I feel like this class re-introduced me to Literature but on a much broader and deeper scale than I was before.

I would have to say that in my opinion I have been properly introduced to Literature. Coming into this class I did not have the right idea about Literature. I thought that it would just be another class where we had to read a lot of books, poems, and hard to understand stories and then we would be asked questions about. That to me is not enjoyable. Before this year I never liked English classes and I always had the perception that I was bad at them. This year I learned that there is so much more to the English course of Literature. It is truly an art. We were introduced to some of the many literary works of art that exist. I loved how there was so much deeper thinking involved in reading the novels and that we were encouraged to discover the small secrets that each one held. I also learned that literature is meant to be and fun to talk about with peers. It is cool how many different perspectives and thoughts people can have about the same subjects. I also would have to say that my confidence in my English abilities as a whole has improved and I looked forward to the class many days. All in all I would have to say that this class Introduction to Literature was a great introduction to Literature as it changed my perspective of the subject as a whole and helped me realize how fun and rewarding it can be to read books that cause you think deeper than just the surface of the text.

As the year is coming to an end, I can clearly say that this has been the most positive experience I have ever had in an english class. English 210: Introduction to Literature has properly introduced me to literature. Before this class I did not like to read literature. I really started to value literature when I realized I could gain valuable life lessons from the various novels we read. I am very thankful for Mr. C for always making this an exciting and interesting class to attend and for showing me how cool literature actually can be.

After taking this course, I can 100% agree that I have been properly introduced into Literature. Before, I really struggled with English. Reading novels and understanding them was something I did not enjoy doing. Writing essays was always a laborious task for me as well. Now, I am much more comfortable with reading books and understanding the symbolism and/or allegories mentioned in the novel. Plus, after reading Othello, understanding shakespeare is much easier for me now than it was before. After all the essays we have written, I am much more comfortable with writing essays and coming up with outlines, varying my sentence structure, and integrating sources/quotes. This class really taught me a lot, and I appreciate how encouraging and positive Mr. C was every single day. I will definitely miss this class after I graduate.

At the beginning of the second semester I was extremely anxious because I have never been head over heels to read a book that I did not pick myself. Previous years, I dreaded reading books that teachers forced us to read. I do feel that I have been properly introduced to literature after taking this class. The books that we have read have become some of my favorite books. I struggled with the literary lens when we were first introduced to them, but overtime they have been immensely helpful while studying other novels. Though this class has been very challenging, I feel that it has helped me prepare for the next four years of my life.

With the year coming to a close, I am grateful that I took this course. At first, I was not looking forward to this class because it was all about reading. I enjoy reading for very short periods of time. I cannot stay focussed on a book for the death of me though. This course really changed my outlook on books. It makes it a lot easier to read when you analyze books and figure out the deeper meanings of the novels. The books we read kept me captivated and needless to say, I learned a lot. This class will definitely prepare me for the future college experience I am about to endure.

As the year winds down to a close, I think most of us could honestly say that we have had a very good introduction to literature, thanks to Mr. C. When we started at the beginning of the semester, we all thought that we had already been introduced to literature, but I think this class even furthered and expanded on what we thought we knew. I have always struggled to pull deeper meanings out of books and I think the forums really helped me learn how to do it on my own, as well as using my classmates to gain an even better understanding of the books we read. It will have the tools going forwards to analyze literature, and the knowledge of how to find resources to help in the process. Taking this class really has taught me a lot, and has really helped me prepare for college classes in the future.

As the school year comes to an end, the English 210: Introduction to Literature class does as well. This class has been one of my favorites to attend all year. I enjoy the atmosphere and the assignments are not terrible (as they are in some classes). Overall, I think that I have definitely made progress in the english subject. I have been introduced to novelists, poets, and short story writers. These vastly different authors have showed me that no author has the same writing style. This class has influenced my perspective on literature, and for that, I am grateful.

The end of the semester is quickly approaching, and with that the end of Introduction to Literature. This has been an interesting course for me. I enjoy reading and so expected to enjoy this class. My expectation was correct, though this class did not fail to challenge me. It forced me to become more comfortable sharing and expanding on my thoughts with my classmates. Throughout the semester, I feel that I have learned just as much about this as I have about literature, and I am so thankful for that! I loved this class! I do feel as though I have been “introduced to literature”, but I do not think that learning should ever cease, and I will continue to seek knowledge regarding literature.

Introduction to Literature is coming to an end and I feel that I have been introduced very well to literature. We have studied so so much going from novels, to poems, to Shakespeare. I didn't really know much about literature before I took this class, I have come such a far way from where I started. I still have more learning to do, but I know that I have learned an immense amount from taking "Introduction to Literature." Going into this class I could barely write a 3 page paper, and now I am writing 11 page papers and analyzing it along with writing it. It is fun to look at a book and analyze it to a deeper meaning. I am so grateful to have taken a course like this and it will help me immensely in college.

It does not seem real that this year is finally coming to a close. I feel like it was just yesterday when I stepped into Composition, scared I would not meet any deadline set for my essays. Lol. However, I got through it. And I certainly enjoyed it. Not only did I just read literature this year, but I really felt I was immersed in it. I created, I observed, and I partook in numerous activities concerning Literature. Because of this, I would just like to say thank you, Mr. C. Thank you for being concerned about our actual understanding of content, rather than the grade we receive.

As this year is coming to an end as well as my senior year, I am very glad I chose to take Composition and Literature. I feel as if I am more knowledgeable and confident in writing and analyzing all different types of works. I especially appreciated how Matt Christensen ran his classroom as a college professor would; better preparing me for years ahead. Since the beginning of my senior year I have become a more proficient and organized writer, and do not feel as intimidated as before. While learning to be a writer, I also found myself interested in the material that was being taught, unlike other classes I have no interest in. English has never been one of my strong characteristics, but now it is a part of me because of this class.

English 210: Introduction to Literature, this class has helped me immensely. Before entering this class I struggled when writing essays and reading novels. I often created very choppy essay works. After completing the rigorous essay topic assignments I feel a lot better with my writing abilities. As for my reading I have never enjoyed reading I would always go for the movie rather than the literary work. After reading Life of Pi and One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest I have a completely different view on reading. They contain emotions and details that even movies can’t outdo. Books have so much more to them and I appreciate my new found enjoyment. This is a very rewarding class in my opinion. It is a great way to prepare for what we face in college. I feel more confident entering my English classes next year.

When I first signed up for this class my junior year, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I knew it involved writing essays, vocab, and reading books, but what I didn’t know was that it involved me to grow and improve as a reader, writer, and student. I have definitely been introduced to Literature, even though it was not easy. Some parts of this class were a struggle for me to get through, but with such an amazing teacher leading the class it made the class smoother and easier to get through. This class has been an eye opening experience for what is to come in my future. Thank you so much Mr. C for everything you have done for myself and my classmates! None of us could have passed this class without your help and knowledge!

I fully believe that this class has opened my mind to a lot of new views on different types of literature. Before I came to this class I was someone who thought that people who saw symbolism in everything were just searching for something that wasn’t there or that they were seeing things they wanted to see. Now my favorite thing to do in novels or other forms of literature is to pick out symbolism or foreshadowing. I’ve enjoyed this class more than any other this year and I’m extremely glad that I decided to take it. Thank you for making the class interesting and fun.

I do feel as though I have been properly introduced to literature. This class has introduced me to many novels that I most likely would not have read on my own. At the beginning of the semester while watching the Lion King, Mr. C had many ideas and thoughts for us about the Lion King, most were thoughts none of us had ever even thought about. Now after spending a semester focused on literature and what it means and how to infer things further I can now see things and ideas written into the novels that I normally would not have noticed. I can safely say that I have been properly introduced to literature.

I wanna start off by saying that you made this class a whole lot more interesting and fun than a normal english class or even an honors class, even though it included a lot more work as well but that's what a college class is. The only way you could not be introduced to literature in this class is if you didn’t care or try. Most of the books we read are actually good and allow for us to read them without it dragging on and us just reading it cause we have too. Overall, I really enjoyed this class and my interpretation of literature expanded throughout the year.

During the last semester, I have been exposed to an entirely new world of literature. Typically, I have read high fantasy, a genre obsessed with comprehension and creation rather than symbolism. In contrast, the literature we read in class is permeated with symbolism. Looking at our class literature in a different light compared to my out of class reading has allowed me to to find purpose in everything I see. Too often, we as humans think in terms of “what” and not in terms of “why.” This class has allowed me to expand my thinking to understand an author’s purpose, not just in literature, but in everyday life as well. This is a perfect representation of Oscar Wilde’s claim that life imitates art more than art imitates life. We as a people define the mechanisms of society through the constant changing of art. While the this theory was presented to us last year in Honors English 11, it is only now that I truly understand Wilde’s train of thought. Overall, this class has given me a completely different viewpoint to analyze as I continue my education.

I do indeed believe that I have been properly introduced to literature at this point. Before this year, I would not think of English in the same way I do today; maybe that is simply a given. I have never had a proper understanding of meaning or literature, I have always preferred movies over books and saw things in stories as simple filler. As of today, there is no chance I would watch a movie before I read a book and any circumstance that enters my life, I always wonder what it may mean, who people mean in my life, what the symbolism is. I am glad to have been introduced to literature and am glad to see what else there is to come.

I do feel that I have been properly introduced to literature during this semester. I have enjoyed reading classic novels, specifically Life of Pi. Mr. C, you have said before that this novel has changed your life and I feel that it has done the same for me. Before this class I did not have a favorite author or really any desire to read for fun, but I can say now that I love Yann Martel and his work and will be reading more of his novels and poems in the future. Through this class and your teaching I have become a better writer and I can now look for symbols and better understand deeper meanings in novels. I would like to thank you Mr. C for helping me become a better writer, a better student, and a better person.

The end of the year is now within sight and I can say that I have received a wonderful introduction to literature. I have enjoyed reading since a very young age (perhaps due to the fact my mom is a reading teacher) and have always loved attending my English classes most of all. I am so incredibly grateful for all the wonderful people I was able to work with this year. I can honestly count it among one of my most favorite years in English, and I’ve had a lot of good years of English. Even after this introduction, there is still so much more to learn. Great literature is everywhere and more is being published every day. Now I feel that I possess the skills to be able to read this material and analyze it properly, giving whatever piece of writing I may be reading the true credit it deserves.

This class by far has been my favorite English class throughout high school. I feel a lot more confident in writing and analyzing books. The books we read for this class were all awesome. I was not looking forward to reading a few because I thought I would not like them. When it turns out they ended up being my favorites ones this semester. I would have never picked them up outside of class to read because I already had a preconceived idea about them. So thank you Mr. C! Life of Pi was one of the books that I was a little hesitant about because you loved the book and I didn’t know if I would truly like it or like the book because you did. After reading it I would definitely read it again and I wish I could have kept the copy from class. Beatrice and Virgil was the other book I kind of had lackluster feelings towards. But as I began to read it I became more and more intrigued by it. It along with Life of Pi have been my favorite books this semester.
I will truly miss you Mr. C, but keep doing what you are doing because it works. Teachers like you are the ones who make a difference in students like me.
Thank you.
Stay sane out there.

I can say with 100% certainty that this class has properly introduced me to literature. I have never been much of a reader, nor was I ever really interested in poetry, short stories, etc. I also had never truly studied a piece of literature in depth and analyzed the meaning of certain things before this year. To my pleasant surprise, this class has been an amazing experience. I have learned to appreciate literature, and have learned how to think on my own and express my opinions openly in the forums. This class has surely changed me academically and as a person, in the best way. This has become clear to me as I write my manifesto. In doing the Games for Gustav, I have been able to create stories of people in the Holocaust, use literary devices to evoke emotions, and use what I have learned from the stories we’ve read in class to create my own stories. I surely would not have been able to do this without this class. Thank you Mr. C for teaching in such a way that engages students and expands their knowledge, while also making your students better people overall. I am going to miss this class a lot.

Throughout my high school years, reading has been something that I would never do or enjoyed. This all changed this semester. In English 210: Introduction to Literature, I have really enjoyed all the books we have read. Before this class, I feel like I only knew the famous authors and was not introduced to literature in the slightest. This class has helped introduce me to literature greatly even though there is still a lot I could learn. This class has made reading fun which is not always the case with my past teachers. Also, this class has shown me how college is going to be like next year. Lastly, this class has been a joy for me to come to everyday and I will miss having an excellent teacher like Mr. C.

As my senior year comes to a close, I can honestly say that this literature class has helped me greatly. Because of this class, I have lost all fear towards future english classes I might have to take in the near future. If you would’ve asked me last year, when I was a junior signing up for this class, how I felt about taking this class, I would’ve told you that I was extremely nervous because I wasn’t sure if I could handle it and live up to the expectations. But I surprised myself and excelled tremendously in this lit class and it is all thanks to Mr. Christensen. I have never learned so much and had fun while doing so, you introduced various new ways of teaching and it was an awesome experience.

I have no doubt in my mind I have properly been introduced to literature and world behind it because of taking English 210. One of the biggest things I come to realize after taking this class is how enjoyable reading a novel could be. This class has also helped me take a deeper look into things such as books and wonder if writers put certain things in to represent something more than they may appear right away. Thank you Mr. C for everything you do and making a class that can be hard to enjoy enjoyable.

Out of all my english classes at this high school, I have never felt so involved in the stories we have read. I was able to look deeper analytically and use those views to apply them for my own pursuits. I once again enjoy reading. I definitely feel I have been properly introduced to literature, so the class is aptly named. My favorite book that we read had to be One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. This was because the book had the great power to keep my attention and made me feel I had a connection to the characters. I also loved the Life of Pi. Though not my favorite, there were a few passages and lines in the story that I could either relate to, or feel like I was apart of, and that was an inspiring experience. Thank you Mr. C for showing me all of these wonderful stories and poems that I will definitely re-read in the future.

I do believe that through this class I have become more familiar with not only specific literary works, but also with the study of literature itself. I have always loved reading, but as responsibilities increase with age, the time allotted for reading decreases. Therefore, I was somewhat excited for this class, as I knew reading would be a big part of it. However, we have done much more than just read works of literature. Each little aspect of this class have combined together to form a solid base to continue growing upon as we continue to study literature, and whatever else the future might throw at us.

I absolutely feel like I have been properly introduced to literature. I feel I have a much better understanding of literature today then I did when we began this class. I feel like I have learned how to interpret a book in my way and find my own meaning in the book. I feel like I better understand how to find symbolism in the books I read also. I believe that the books I read this semester helped my understand how to use literary lenses. I have really enjoyed this class, and I am so thankful for the things that it has taught me.

The class English 210: Introduction to Literature has far beyond introduced me to literature properly. I never truly understood what I all knew, but this class has tremendously displayed that I do know more. Before taking this class, I read books just to read. I never understood the true and deeper meanings of the novels and poems we have read throughout the year. I am truly grateful for having the opportunity to take this class. I am positive it has successfully prepared me for the future as I have expanded my knowledge on literature.

I value this course, and appreciate all the creative wisdom it has bestowed upon me throughout the semester. I learned to do something that I will harness to the day I die. I learned how to analyze art--be it novels, short stories, poems, or films--in ways I had never been able to do before. Now these forms of analyzing are burned into my brain, and come to fruition instinctually. I have always loved stories, but this has reignited a flame to probe deeper, reflect more, and gain more from the literature I explore. SInce it is the end of the year, I have no reason to brown nose, and with that said, I can confidently say this course would not of intrigued me 1/100 of what it does if you were not the instructor. You care about what you teach, and better more, you care about who you teach. You impact students so immensely that I found myself working harder on essays and analyzing novels not only to get the best possible grade, but to impress you, make you proud, and assure that you are making a difference in all of our lives. For all that, I thank you.

Literature is such a vast topic. Understanding all the components that come with Literature is inconceivable. We took an entire semester course on it, and we have only chipped away at the tip of the iceberg that is Lit. Before English 210, I hadn’t fully delved into books the way I do now. All the symbolism and numerous other terms we have learned through literary theory are now at my disposal to analyze not only Literature, but life in general as well. Introduced is a broad word, because, I believe, there are many different levels of introduction that can occur in all facets of life. But when it comes to literary knowledge, I am without a doubt thoroughly introduced. Thank you, Mr. C for changing my life for the better.

After taking English 210: Introduction to Literature, I feel as though I have greatly increased my literary knowledge. Although there is always more literature to read and examine, we have studied a good selection of works. I am more confident in sharing ideas with a group that I have discovered within the pages of our novels. Being a person that doesn’t choose to read in their free time, this class has done nothing but create an interest in expanding my knowledge through books. I would like to thank Mr. C. for his challenges, his willingness to help, and his unwavering belief in me and all of his students.

The year has been short but the essays have been long. I do feel as though the class has prepared me significantly more than any other english based classes I have taken. All preciously courses did not let you explore the mediums or the thought processes that go along with not only creating an educated paper but one that can evoke so many emotions or questions about any topic. Studying literature has been fun as signs that werent so obvious know become clear as I read. I can’t thank Mr. C enough for what he does and how much he puts into making us the best we can be. And while as vague as it may seem it’s proven to be more intuitive and thought provoking than any class I have taken. Thank you.

Throughout my years of schooling I have never found literature interesting. However, I can honestly say, after this class I have much more respect for literature and reading than I did in the past. There is a huge difference between reading to comprehend, and reading to understand what the author is truly attempting to get across. I enjoyed how the class was put together to analyze each novel and poem we read. It was much less stressful to talk about the books, rather than take a comprehensive test. Also I learned much more about the deep meanings in the novels and poems. Thank you Coach C. for all you did for us!

I am trying desperately to finish out the year with my sanity, as it were. I think in an odd sense I was introduced to literature a long time ago. This class has only perpetuated my miniscule knowledge in a field that i've certainly struggled with in the past. I have not only learned much about reading, writing and the analysis of literature, but also, I have learned much about myself. I am not good at reading books. I find symbolism to be illogical given I have a very one tract logical brain. This class has forced me into considering things much deeper than purely paper and ink.

I very much thank you for teaching me how to properly compose an essay, for I know I will indeed need it for my freshmen year. I also feel like I view books, movies, TV shows, and even plays in a different way than I do before. You have taught me to look beyond the surface and to actually critically think about the entertainment. I have never deeply thought about those things like I do now. I believe you have prepared me for college, and gave me a way better understanding of english and literature. I can not thank you enough!

Introduction to Literature kind of killed me a little bit because I hate reading for the most part. I am okay with reading when I choose to sit down and read a book, but I despise being forced to read a book. Because of this crucial flaw in my world, I struggled keeping up with all of the forums. I did enjoy the forums though. I think that it is a really good way to learn the material and be able to work as a team a little better. Other than keeping up with all of the due dates for reading, I really enjoyed this class. I feel like I got more than enough time to accomplish the goals that were set in place. I feel like this class will help me in the future for college and other things. Knowing some of the poems and books has already helped me with a few jeopardy questions. I definitely do not regret taking this class.

Throughout the course of English 210, I feel as if I have been properly introduced to literature now. You taught me how to look at things differently when reading a novel through our literary lens. In doing this it makes reading a lot more fun. When I first signed up for this class, I thought it was going to be boring because I was not that fond of reading that much. Although, Mr. C you made it very enjoyable in reading all of those books. Sometimes it was demanding but you knew we would be able to attain the goal and we always did because you believed in us. I can honestly say I have been properly introduced to literature. I now know how to properly analyze works of literature and dissect it as a whole. I now know how to become a literary critic and apply different lens to works of literature. Thank you Mr. C. for being such an extraordinary teacher and making the most confusing topics more attackable in a sense. I feel more informed and I have such a vast understanding of literature in comparison to before. Although this is only an introduction, I cannot wait to see what else is in store and to what extent literature reaches. I can definitely say, I have been properly introduced to literature from this course. At the start of the semester I was not very competent with literature, but now, I am. Thank you Mr C, for giving us the best advantage we can have as we prepare for college and for preparing us for our adults lives. Thank you.

In my opinion, the course has done a wonderful job, not only in presenting unique and phenomenal works of art, but in helping us to deeply analyze and appreciate those pieces. English in the past has simply been a regurgitation of facts, the most complicated topics being in defining the rising action or conflict of a story. Who’s a foil, and what happened where? Generic, pointless, and obvious questions that can be found on any Wikipedia page. What this course’s goal was-- which was achieved for-- was to look deeper into the books. The “why’s” instead of the “what’s.” Intentional chapter orders and representations of concepts instead of testing over the character’s names has proven a challenge; a challenge that I am more than happy to tackle and eventually surmount, and it’s been a privilege to take the course, and I can’t wait to take it again in college for credit.

English 210 was a class that I was always excited to attend. Each day was filled with something unique and different, often with insight into things I have never though about before. I feel that I have grown a great deal when it comes to analyzing literature. I remember freshman year reading books in Honors English and thinking about all the symbols, and all the ones that Mrs. Sittig seemed to pull out of nowhere (some still seem fishy to me) but many are much more understandable. Religion especially has began to stick out more along with colors and animals. I feel that the books we have read are extremely beneficial and have opened my perspective on the world especially with other cultures and how they really are not that different from my own.

Even though this class is coming to a close, I will continue to learn more about literature. I do think I was properly introduced to literature. At the beginning of the class, it was a little hard to look deep into literature and find hidden meanings. Now, I can see things easier and it makes learning more enjoyable. I have read many novels for this class that I normally would not read. I am glad I read and analyzed them because I enjoyed them a lot. I used to dread reading Shakespeare and poems, but this class made me see things a certain way which greatly benefited me. I do not think I will read a book the same way again. Since we had to deeply analyze books for this class, I can see myself analyzing books in the future to learn more.

Through this class, I have seen literature like never before. I find myself looking at novels with a different “literary lens” every time I read. I see incredible progress on my writing skills, as well as my skills with small or large group discussions. I have discovered poems and short stories that I have not yet enjoyed. This year, has undoubtedly been one to remember. It has given me lasting memories from having out with friends, to studying for a test that I have no idea about, to cramming five page essays thirty minutes before it’s due, this year has been absolutely incredible. Coming out of junior year and into senior year, I was slightly worried about my writing abilities. I was always asking friends about what to do for this class. One of my biggest concerns being the page length requirement for each essay. I used to struggle even writing more than a few pages maximum. As of now, I feel a lot more comfortable as to what to address when composing essays. Overall, I do feel like I have been introduced to literature. This class has exposed me to novels and short stories that I would not have even known existed had it not been because of taking this class. Learning to look at things from a different perspective has also helped. After watching the Lion King in English 210 has made me look at other movies the same way and the things that I have never noticed are so expertly placed that it almost looks like it was an accident that it was so cleverly placed. This class has helped me not only become a better writer but it also helped me in other classes too. My hopes for the future is that I continue to take the skills learned from here and apply them to college and my future work.

As this year is coming to an end so is one of my favorite classes, Introduction to Literature. I have been able to read some amazing novels that have really made me think about the world around me and how I see different things. For instance, I had never read a book quite like Life of Pi before, nor have I read a book that I was able to look so deeply into the meaning behind word. I feel as the forums really helped me understand each book or poem better but also opened my eyes to the ways my peers may have interpreted the symbols. Overall, if this class is any indication about college learning (which I’m sure it is) I think I will be able to prosper and enjoy the constant learning. Thank you Mr. C for all that you have done in preparing our class for all that is ahead and for constantly believing in all of us.

We have finally made it to the end of the school year, and to the end of my high school career. Before this year, even before this semester, I had thought that I already knew literature, though I did not go so far as to call myself an expert on the topic. Afterall, I enjoy reading in my spare time, so how could I not have been introduced to literature? But as we progressed through the semester I realized how little reading actually does to expose you to what literature really means. You need to look deeper to find the true meanings of literature. I have learned more this year about literature than I have in all previous years combined.

I do believe that this course is an introduction to not only literature but also an introduction to a relationship to literature. Beyond being introduced to a verity of novels, short stories, poems I feel I have a much better relationship with literature due to newly gained confidence in my ability to understand what the author is saying beyond what has been written on the page. That confidence is why I feel that I now have a much better relationship with literature as previously I often couldn't find what everyone else had or just had a hard time, in general, getting past the surface. I know feel as I do read literature more critically and I feel excited knowing I have just barely scratched the surface and a whole larger world awaits me.

I do feel as though I have been further introduced to literature. I think we covered a broad range of literature, not just one genre. With each book we paid attention to details and talked about the motivations behind the work, so that we got the full story, not just what was on the pages. I probably wouldn’t have ever read Lord of the Flies on my own, but because of this class I can say that I am more aware of William Golding and have appreciated his efforts. Even though I didn’t necessarily enjoy the content of each novel, they were all things with which well-rounded scholars should be familiar. You are never really properly introduced to literature, because there is so much out there that you could never have a representative sample.

I think I have been introduced to literature by this class. Right now, I’m kinda sad that we did not read more books. I would definitely rather read more classics that are in the literary cannon than write a manifesto(hint hint). My favorite part was when we made a sculpture together with the class. That really expanded my brain into thinking outside the box. I like writing poems about nothing also, that is kinda fun. With a great teacher, any mundane class can become a fun and enjoyable time. In lit, I have had the most freedom in any of my classes. If I tried to have a standing desk in some other’s classes, I would get sent to the office for that. That was pretty neat.

Thanks to this class, I have a much greater understanding and appreciation of the literature. This class has encouraged me to begin reading new books and come up with my own thoughts and opinions. Of all of the books I've read throughout high school, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's nest is one of my all time favorites. Without this class I would have never been exposed to its brilliance. This course has been nothing short of exceptional for introducing high schoolers into a college atmosphere and learning environment. It is hard to fathom how quickly this second semester has flown by and how much we have accomplished in English 210. It has been fun at times and frustrating at times in this literature class, but I know it is all for my own good. I do feel now that I have been properly introduced to literature. This has truly been a wonderful class; although I have felt overwhelmed at times, I do not think that I have learned as much in English as I have this year. I would like to thank you, Mr. C for challenging us to go beyond what we normally would do, and to invest ourselves into our work and the novels we read. This class has taught me what it means to study literature rather than just read it and answer comprehension questions in a packet. I think this class has changed my worldview and the novels made me question some of my own beliefs, which I think is pretty awesome. I am extremely thankful I took this class, as I feel it added tremendously to my learning experience.

As the end of the year approaches quickly, I can confidently say that taking English 210: Introduction to Literature was worth the work. However, after taking this class it is safe to say we only managed to brush the tip of the iceberg, but that is due to the fact that literature has been produced for thousands of years. This class has allowed me to dig deeper into books, allowed me to speak out more in groups, and to find topics for essays I wouldn’t have found previously thanks to this class, and for that, I’d like to thank Mr. C for pushing us to do our best. I hope with the help of this class I can go on to the next levels applying these same lessons for all my classes.

I feel as though I can read a book not just for reading a book but I can read a book and make it mean something to me. I loved learning about all the different aspects of the books we read and the essays forced me to dig farther into the novels and find small parts that mean a lot to the book. I loved this class and will recommend it to as many people as I can.

First of all, I would like to thank you, Mr. C! You have been one of the greatest teachers that I have ever had the privilege of studying under. With that being said, I have been incredibly blessed to become exposed to reading. Before this semester, I rarely read. Because of this class, I will be reading quite frequently this summer and throughout my life. This semester, I have also learned that literature is much more powerful than a movie will ever be. Not only does literature apply to English classes because we are able to choose to look at life like we do literature. I have learned to dissect life piece by piece, and step back and evaluate what is actually important to me. Just like in literature, we read the novel and look at its meaning as a whole. For that, I am grateful. This class will most definitely help me get through my college english courses, and I am very thankful that I have learned a lot about literature this semester. Thank you!

I feel as though I have been introduced to literature because of Mr. C’s continual efforts throughout the semester. I liked being exposed to a lot of the books and some of the poems because I think they serve a greater purpose in literature. They deserve to evaluated, talked about, and discussed at much deeper lengths to see their symbolism. This being said, I don’t know how much I will retain just because of the high volume in the class and some of the last-minute procrastination I exhibited this semester. However, while I may not remember the specifics of everything that was read and taught, I will remember the experiences and the point of literature and why it should be discussed.

I love the idea of being introduced to literature, as if these works are a classmate or a mentor or a newly found friend. I think that we are constantly being introduced to literature, from the moment we are capable of understanding both spoken and written words. Literature is around us in everything, it permeates every aspect of society and is one of the things that truly brings joy to life. We have been introduced to literature, yes, but now it is time for us to get to know literature. We need to take shakespeare on ice cream dates, hang out with F. Scott Fitzgerald and figure out how he feels about aliens and pangea. We need to constantly get closer and more in depth with everything in the world around us, because while we may be introduced to literature, we are only breaching the surface of understanding it.

I do feel I have been properly introduced to literature in your class. More than properly. I have really enjoyed finding symbolism in works looking through literary lenses. One of my favorite essays that I’ve written is the feminist critical analysis of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest I wrote with Else. We had to dive deep into the novel to write that paper. I very much enjoyed the forums we did this semester as well. I would always go into them with a few rough ideas and throughout the process come up with numerous other theories by building off of others. With a table full of engaged participants in discussion we covered a lot of ground.

Yes, I do think that I have been properly introduced to literature. Before this class, I didn’t know much about truly analyzing and understanding the deeper meaning of novels, poems, short stories, etc. Now, I look at things differently and I have began to take a different approach when trying to analyze situations and stories. I’ll be honest, I’ve never been a huge fan of English, but the way this course is paced I was able to enjoy it and learn from it. I think it’s a very smart idea to have deadlines, which helps to space out the work you need to do. Also, I think this course is pretty close to what college will be like. The freedom to write about what you want and talk about what you want is what I imagine college to be like. In conclusion, I feel like I have learned a lot from this class. It may have to do with the way the course is set up, but I think Mr. C is an excellent teacher too. He really knows what he’s teaching and is very helpful when asked anything. I highly suggest taking this class!

To be honest, English is a class I used to despise. I felt like it was a lot of teachers forcing me to think a certain way about the book and forcing symbolism onto me. This class was much different. Every single book, play, story, or poem we read was discussed as how you see it as a reader personally. People come from different backgrounds, so people will interpret text different. I may read one thing and think it symbolizes something much different than someone else. Also, I began to analyze literature in many different ways thanks to this class. For these reasons, English went from one of my most hated subjects to a subject I appreciate and really enjoy. You, Mr. C, are the reason why.

Nearing the end of the year, I feel like i have been properly introduced to literature. This class has taught me a plethora of different skills. Without this class, I feel that I would not be able to enjoy a book as easy as I can now that I have made it a habit to fully study the text. Looking deep into a book has also taught me to look deeper into other forms of literature, such as songs and poetry. This class has been very enjoyable and beneficial to my learning.

Of course I have been introduced to literature! But, I must admit, not necessarily by this class alone. Don’t get me wrong, this class has certainly helped, but it added on to the years and years of reading in honors classes. The books and stories in this class were very interesting and were a great complement to the literature I’ve read thus far and therefore my experience as a human thus far. For introducing these stories to me, I thank you. I thank you for how enjoyable you’ve made this class!

I very much enjoyed this class. In elementary and middle school I used to read books constantly, but in high school, I didn't have the time. By assigning books to read, I was finally able to get back to reading before bed or in school or during lunch. The only thing I did not like about that was that sometimes I had to force myself to stay awake late at night to finish the required pages. Besides reading, I enjoyed learning literary theory. I will never read a book the same way again.

I do feel that I have been properly introduced to Literature thanks to this class. Our analyzations and lenses have given me new tools with which to view the books that I read and I no longer read in the same way. I also feel that the essay components of the class have allowed me to improve overall as an essay writer. I finished most of the books that we were read before we even discussed the first section, so I think I gained even another unique perspective by being able to observe as people make predictions about the book and think more about what was going through my own mind at that point in the novel. Overall, i would call this class an amazing and enjoyable success that has helped me going forward. I also think that I would have written completely different scholarship essays for colleges if I had taken this class first semester as opposed to now.

When I signed up to take this class I assumed it would be like all the other English classes that I have taken previously. I thought we would just be doing the same thing every day, doing worksheets, etc. After the first day of coming to class, I knew this wouldn't be like any English class I've taken before. I was completely blindsided from the first-day weirdness, but I enjoyed it. This class has been such a pleasure to take and it has completely changed me as a literary theorist. Before taking this class I thought I was great at English and writing, but I have improved greatly. Now a 5-10 page essay sounds easy as cake. Now I think about all the different lenses with different books and movies, like how The lion King is totally racist. This has been the best class I have ever taken by far.
