Type 100+ words, explaining your initial ideas for your classification essay here. Be sure to try to limit to a single principle. Remember, you cannot compare Mr. Stensaas as old (age) with Mr. Stadem as brilliant (intellect) and Mr. Risty as muscular (physique). You need to classify three to six entities by a single principle.

My initial idea for the Classification essay was to classify fans’ attentiveness at sporting events. The three types of fans I broke them up into were the super fans, your average fans, and those who are not there to watch the game. Your super fans are the people who go to every game and tend to be the most active during the game. Your average fans are the ones who come to most games and generally do not get into the games as much as the super fans. My last group is the people who do not come for the event but mainly treat it as a social event to talk with their friends and not pay attention to the game.

In my classification essay, I will be writing about different appearances. The three different groups will be dressy, sporty, and crazy. I will go into detail about their clothing, hair, and accessories. Each type of appearance tells about a person and their personality. For example, if a person is wearing sweat pants and a sports t-shirt, we can most likely tell that they are in that sports team or support them. The personality of a person who dresses in very classy clothes everyday can tell the viewer that they care about their appearance and want to look nice. Lastly if you see a person with bright green hair, the viewer could infer the student wants to be unique. I want to limit my essay to just girls because boys don’t always fit into these categories.

My classification essay is about work environments. The three categories are large area, small walking space and crowded room. The idea is about how much you are expected to do. With a large area you are expected to be doing quite a bit of work because one has so much ground to cover. You never get super tired because you are constantly moving and never standing around making your legs sore. There is the small walking distance where you still can walk around a little bit and work a bit but you are mainly expected to handle one or two specific jobs. In a small crowded room you hardly have room to maneuver or you are sitting in your own desk. One is often found doing the same job the majority of the time they are at work or they are completing multiple jobs from the same station.

My initial idea for the classification essay is to classify reality television programs by their levels of intellect. I am quite familiar with reality television, as I watch a decent amount of it. I am planning to classify these shows in three categories: Masterful, Mediocre, and Moronic. The shows that fall under “Masterful” are not necessarily works of art, but they will demonstrate a clear purpose as to what the show is trying to accomplish. (Example: American Idol. The goal is to find a world-wide singing star.) The “Moronic” shows are completely ridiculous in principle and have no real educational or intellectual value and exist simply for entertainment at the expense of others. (Examples: Jersey Shore and, though it pains me to say this, The Bachelor. ) The “Mediocre” shows, then, will not be completely ridiculous but will not be extremely relevant either. (Example: Say Yes to the Dress.)

My initial idea for the classification essay was to classify what drives soccer players. I have three classes so far: self-driven, parent influenced, and socially motivated. You can recognize these three kinds of players fairly easily during a game. A self-driven player is the player who will work hard no matter what the score is, or how important a game is. This kind of player is usually a leader, and everyone can see their passion. A parent influenced player is the player with the obnoxiously loud parent(s) who irritate most everyone at the game. Finally a socially motivated player is the one who is on the team mostly because their friends play as well.

As an initial idea for the classification essay, I classified super heroes by their powers. Some heroes do not have powers and rely on technology and gadgets to fight crime. Batman is one such hero who has no powers. He uses his gizmos to help him as he fights evil. Other heroes have power thrust upon them by an object with immeasurable strength. The Green Lantern’s ring is an example of this. Without the ring, the Green Lantern would have no power. The final type of hero has been mutated or born with their power and now it is always with them. Superman is physically enhanced and Spiderman has been mutated. No matter where their powers come from, they all have the same goal in fighting crime and the forces of evil.

As an initial idea for the classification essay, I classified girls’ personalities based on their fingernail polish choice. Most girls choose their fingernail polish based on what they like or their mood. My three classifications are the Girly Girl, the Down to Earth Girl, and the Mainstream Girl. For instance if a female was really outgoing she might choose a shade that is vibrant and or sparkly and may be classified as a Girly Girl. The Down to Earth Girl may choose a color that is more of an earth tone such as brown, green, or nude. Finally, the Mainstream girl is the kind of girl that wants to be with the in-crowd; she wants to be updated with the latest trends. She might go with the French tips or patterns.

My initial idea for the classification essay consists of different types of offenses. There are many different ways of classifying offenses. I decided to go with how open some offenses are compared to others. An open offense is an offense that throws the ball around everywhere, and has almost any play at their disposal. My categories include the barn door, the window, and the safe. Barn doors are wide open. These offenses include the Spread offense, the West Coast offense, the Run ‘N’ Gun offense, and many more. The windows are only partially open. These types of offenses include the Pro Style and the Pistol offense. The safe offenses are exclusively running offenses. These offenses are much like the Wing Tee, the Wishbone, and the Option offenses.

My idea for my classification essay is to classify three types of artists. I plan on classifying them by appearance, specifically clothing style, make up preference, and hair preference. The three categories will be The Hipster Artist, The Undercover Artist, and The Goth Artist. By being able to tell which of the three categories a certain artist fits in, one is able to have a rough idea of what their work is like. In addition to being able to tell what kind of work they do, one is also able to get an idea of the type of place the desired type of artist could be found.

For this classification essay, I am contemplating two entirely different ideas. The first of which is the rarity of Pokemon. In this principle of classification, the archetypes will be made of basic, intermediate, advanced and legendary. The depth of these classifications will show what type of Pokemon they are. The context of type is that it shows what the Pokemon resembles. In addition, the paragraphs will also the elemental affinity of the Pokemon and also its method of discovery, whether it is by fossil, genetic clone or nature. The essay will also explain why these certain classifications exist and why they are not condensed or expanded upon.
My second idea for this essay includes the classification of the Asian population. The classification types include that of a purebred, a hybrid and a surrogate. These classes are based and the nuclear heritage of the Asian person. Each paragraph will go in depth about the behavior, successes, failures and abilities of each archetype. Through this essay, I hope to enlighten the world about the Asian people and destroy the vast, blanketing stereotypes that affect the world around me as a whole. However, this is a more controversial topic than my idea above about the rarity of Pokemon. Moreover, it will be tough for me to decide which essay to write.

In my classification essay, I am planning on classifying different types of dancers. I will classify them by the types of dances that they do. I will explain each style of dance and how they are very different from each other. I will be classifying ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and tap dancers. Each style is very different and unique from each other. Many dancers have a favorite style that they are usually very good at. Dancers who like hip-hop usually have different styles and personalities compared to ballet dancers. I will also talk about how the personalities of each dancer in the classes compare to each other too.

My initial idea for the classification essay is to classify the different types coaching styles. I plan on doing this by classifying based on how coaches act and react during games and practice. For example when under stress some coaches resort to yelling to get the attention of the athlete. Other coaches might be unrealistically encouraging and optimistic. While another coach may just become silent. During practice coaches may gain attention by screaming or through shocking silence. Coaches can easily be defined by the success they’ve obtained, but equally important as the success is the method by which they have or haven’t achieved this success.

On any given school day, students pass hundreds of their peers in the hallways. I plan on classifying students based on their walking acceleration through high school hallways. Every student can be classified as the Slow-Poke, the Carefree Passerby, and the Speedy Gonzales. Each category has characteristics that reveal students’ personalities, standards, schedules, motivations and social lives.
For instance, a student that walks slowly to class may be wasting time getting to class on purpose. This would demonstrate a lack of social life, as they are not in the hallways neither talking with friends nor racing to class to socialize with classmates. Much more than social life can be analyzed through the observation of traveling students.

We attend a high school of nearly 1000 students. Each student is different in their own way, participate in their own activities, and outside of school, do things in their own way. We could classify the students, but we can think deeper than that. How did the student become who they are today? The parents are the ones whom have the impact on their children’s lives. I believe parenting styles and approaches are a big part to making a child who they are. There are the belittling, the respectful and the indifferent. For this essay I will be classifying parents and how their approaches impact their child’s lives.

For the classification essay I was considering on classifying leaders by levels of success. As far as leaders go there are several different ways you can classifying them. The categories I am thinking about using are; extremely wealthy and successful, average Joe, and probably should not be a leader. I may research several different leaders to use as examples for these different levels so that I can expound and build the different levels of success so I can accurately describe them. In each category I plan on talking about how they manage their time and money and how they are successful in the work place.

My Classification Essay is about superheroes. This essay will be specifically on superheroes in the movie universe. The three classifications I have created are based on the way the superheroes attained their powers. There is the inventive, the enhanced, and the anointed. The inventive superhero is technologically reliant to have their powers. The enhanced are the superheroes that have been mutated or physically enhanced. The anointed have been given their gifts by some special apparatus. One of my paragraphs will talk about the superheroes that won or lost. Another paragraph will be about the superheroes that have an internal struggle, and if their fall was a result of that struggle.

My initial idea for my classification essay is about various school classes that are offered. I was going to break the different classes down into the categories of AP, moderate, and simple. I would then discuss the various courses offered at BV, and bring in some experience that I have gained taking some of those classes. Classes under the AP classification will be discussed being involved with studying and doing lots of homework. Moderate will be explained having to do work but being able to finish it in the class. The third simple will be simply watching movies and filling out packets.

My Classification essay is about the different attitudes towards power that people in charge have. My three classifications are the Dictator, the Moderator, and the Heir. The Dictator is all empowering, controlling perfectionist who constantly has to have his way. The Moderator is constantly having mood swings of how he wants to use his power. Sometimes he’s totally bent on destroying any shred of happiness at the establishment and other times he’s the one creating it. The Heir is one who just inherited it, but never really wanted it. He just does what he has to and nobody ever really thinks he’s the one in charge.

With the classification essay that was handed out in class last week, I immediately started to think that working out would be a great classification system for me to do. My personality revolves around working out to quite a great extent; making this a fun essay to type. I figured I should divide working out with three groups of people based on their dedication with going to the gym, and how often they go. There are many people who think alike in wanting to be fit, but this does take work. With my classification system, I pointed out how some people may or may not peruse this work, and what benefits and negatives come out of each system.

My initial idea for my classification essay is to classify teenage girls into three categories: watermelon, grapefruit, and strawberries. Because watermelon are watery, the watermelons are emotional teenage girls. The water can also represet false fronts, as there is not much substance to water. The grapefruits are simply sour and mean. The strawberries are the genuinly sweet and innocent teenage girls. One can also categorize teenage girls by the size of the fruit. Watermelon is the largest fruit, and the majority of teenage girls put on false fronts. Grapefruits, while slightly smaller, still represent a large population. Strawberries are small and rare, but still exist.

In my classification essay, I am classifying school classrooms into three different categories. The three categories are the ordinary, the comfortable, and the obnoxious. I would then break down each category and write how each different environment can affect the student. The appearance of the classrooms can also give background on the teachers themselves. The decoration, or lack thereof, can provide the student the knowledge if that teacher goes for a professional look, or more of an average joe atmosphere. Classifying classrooms and analyzing them, can help the student realize what kind of learning experience they will have that year with that particular teacher.

My classification essay, I chose to classify the various parenting styles. The three classifications parents will be put into are the friend, the dictator, and the tight rope walker. The friend is the more laid back parents. The friend is more likely to discipline their child, while the dictator believes in punishment. The dictator is more controlling and gives their child less freedom. The tight rope walker is an in-between parenting style. Sometimes they may “fall off their tight rope” into a different category. They may punish their child harshly at a particular time or conclude not to punish at all. But, for the most part they fit comfortably in the middle of the friend and the dictator.

For my classification essay, I chose to do senior school schedules. I have broken them into three categories based on difficulty. I have chosen to represent them with the titles of Over-achiever, mediocre, and slacker. The over-achiever has a schedule that sets them up for the future. They are taking the hard classes now, so they do not have to stress so much later in life. The mediocre person is taking a few hard classes, but they do not want to be too stressed their senior year. The slacker is taking all of the easy class just to have fun their senior year. In this essay I will examine reasons why students take the classes that they do.

My initial thoughts for the classification essay came from the paper you gave us that described this essay. I was scanning it and came across the analogies section and saw “People are cities” and decided I would do that. I am planning on breaking up people into three categories according to their popularity. People like the star quarterback or the captain of the basketball team from school are like the city of Los Angeles. Everyone wants to go there and see all it has to offer. Likewise, those people are very popular in school and everyone wants to know who they are. The second group would be the people nobody knows about. Scotland, South Dakota is a place that very few people know. The final group would be the people that are known but aren’t very popular. They aren’t recognized for some outstanding thing but everyone still has an idea about who they are. An example of that would be like Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Most people know where that is but aren’t exactly sure of what it has to offer.

The idea for my classification essay did not come to me easily. On the day when Mr. C made us write our thesis statement I still had not come up with an idea for my essay. So, I quickly scanned the sheet he had given us and found a subject I didn’t think would be too hard: movies. I wrote my thesis statement and used how exciting the movie is as my classifications. My three categories were: edge of your seat, keeps your attention, and puts you to sleep. Mr. C then asked me what my thesis statement was, so I told him, and then we discussed it providing me with a plethora of ideas for my movie classification. This essay shouldn’t be too hard to write.

My idea for the classification essay is to classify peoples reasons for eating healthily. The thesis statement, as of today, will read: "Based on their motivation to eat healthily, the three types of healthy eaters you will encounter are the exerciser, the faker, and the forced; knowing the characteristics of each type can help you expand your own motivations for healthy eating." The exerciser is one who eats in ways to fuel their exercise routine. The faker eats healthily to make up for their sedentary lifestyle. Lastly, the forced are forced into healthy eating by their family or the government.

My classification essay centers around a psychological aspect of the choices people make. My thesis observes the types of people based on the seats they select in a bus, be it public transportation or just a school bus. The three types of people are the Progressive, the Static, and the Lingering Thinker in order from front to back seating. My reasoning behind this is mainly observations I've gathered from riding the bus myself (in both school and public settings) as well as certain characteristics that I've observed of people in general. Progressives often feel the need to look straight forward to see where they are going, Statics look out the sides to observe where they are, and Lingering Thinkers (often the first on and last off) tend to look straight backward and reflect on where they have been.

My idea for my classification essay is to classify three types of runners. I plan on classifying them by why they run. I would classify runners into experienced, amateur, or jogger. The experienced would be the runner who competes at a professional level. The amateur would be the runner who runs races locally and isn't quite good enough to become professional. Lastly, the jogger would be the runner who runs for fun or to stay in shape. They aren't in it for competitive reasons and run to simply run. The reasoning for my classification would be how dedicated each runner is to running.

In my classification essay, I am classifying parenting types. There are three different types of parenting; they are the tyrannous, the understanding, and the oblivious. The parents who fall in the tyrannous category are over protective and try to control their child’s every move. Understanding parents have set guide lines that are feasible, but they allow their children to make mistakes and learn from them. The third type of parent, the oblivious, does not realize their child is out misbehaving or breaking the law.

Personalities, like shoes, come in all different shapes, sizes and colors. I find it intriguing to think about what one’s shoe choice can revel about their personality and who they are as a person. I intend to classify people into three categories. Perfectionists wear flawless shoes; nonchalant people tend to have worn or broken-in shoes while tattered shoes would indicate the wearer to be a careless person. I have thought a great deal about making these three categories subcategories within the more common shoe types of athletic, casual and dress, but I fear that my essay could get messy and difficult to follow. At this point I remain unsure.

My current idea for this classification essay involves classifying different types of high school students in their attitude towards authority. My initial ideas for category names include: The insubordinate, the teachers' pet, and the subservient. The insubordinate students are outwardly dismissive of instruction and seem to detest instruction. The teachers' pet category does not only what they are told, but they do it in a way that will gain them brownie points, if you will, with the teacher. The subservient category is not necessarily excited about the tasks at hand, yet they comply without complete defiance. To add depth and breadth to my paper, I will further analyze why students behave the way they do in response to authority in the school system.

My first thought for the essay came to me at work so they are coworkers or work environments. The first thesis looked at work environments and classified them by efficiency. I classified them into: thriving, average, and detrimental. The second thesis that came to mind was classifying workers based on their ethic. My different groups for coworkers were: the overachiever, the hard worker, the joker, the slacker and the delegator. I have not yet decided between the two but with my work and coworker experiences I believe I can make a very convincing essay with either one of the topics.

I was considering classifying the different type of attitudes people exhibit by their breed of dog. You have your aggressive, lover, and gentle. People that own a tough dog, such as a pit bull, you might think they are very rough and not easy to get along with. You have your little dogs, such as a miniature poodle and think they are the kind of person that is more of a lover than a fighter. Then you have people who own a Mastiff. These people might come across as unfriendly, but once you meet them, they become one of the friendliest people you may ever know. All people are different, but a lot of the time you can tell by what breed of dog they own.

For my classification essay, I am classifying class schedules into three different categories. My categories will be separated by the environment of the students taking certain classes. The three categories I will be using are the over-achievers, the students who do the bare minimum, and the students who don’t care or try at all. All three categories relate to the environment the students grew up in, and how it affected the motivation they have towards school now. There are reasons certain students are more motivated than other students and it depends greatly on the way they were raised, because of their environment some students can’t challenge themselves, won’t challenge themselves, or we won’t let them challenge themselves and shows in the classes they take in high school.

My initial idea for the classification essay is to classify soccer players. The three different types I will classify are the wanter, the doer, and the slacker. The wanter is obsessed and is always wanting to get better. The doer just goes because they enjoy soccer. The slacker is either forced to go or just goes to get some sort of excercise for another sport they are interested in. Each type of these soccer players can be found on the field. Throughout their lifetime players can change the catagory they are initially classified into. I will engange in explaining these classifications and how they are able to be changed.

My initial thoughts on the classification essay were that it would be extremely complicated. Coming up with my idea was the hardest part. I ran through more than a couple of possible ideas I could use before I finally decided on writing about how people’s personalities are linked with the types of movie genres they prefer to watch. There are four groups that I am going to classify- the carefree, the inquisitor, the thrill-seeker, and the sappy-pathetic. The carefree person is someone likes to watch comedies and just have a good time; the inquisitor is intrigued by the fantasies and thinks about the world with more imagination. The thrill-seeker watches horror movies for the thrill of the movie, just as one knows a rollercoaster will scare them, they still go. Sappy-pathetic people are those who enjoy the romantic tear jerking movies or who watch them when they are down and are envious of the fictional character’s lives.

One of my ideas was to classify high school students by their dedication to learning. There would be those who just come to school because they are required to, those who come because they want to learn, and finnaly those who come and do the job but do not give their best. Another idea of mine was to classify homeschoolers. according to the reasons for homeschooling. There are three types of homeschoolers, the ones who are homeschooling because they can not make it in public schools, those who homeschool because they are being held back by public schools, and then there are those who homeschool because the parents want to train and nurture them in the way they see fit.

For my classification essay I will be classifying movies by genre: Action, Comedy, and Horror. These genres also have sub-classifications; action movies can either be shooters or racers, comedies can be family or adult humor, and horror movies can be gory or paranormal. Movies are unique artforms and there are many similarities and differences between genres based on the styles of the directors, actors, stylists, etc. I am writing my essay on movies because I really enjoy watching them and I feel like some great movies are greatly underappreciated by some people simply because they know nothing about them. Hopefully some day they can broaden their minds and appreciate great movies even if the topic doesn't particularly interest them.

My initial idea for the topic of my classification essay was to classify movies into three categories; Amazing, Average, and Inadequate. A movie classified in the amazing category would be one that demands people’s attention, not once, but over and over again. A movie is amazing if it has a stimulating and enthralling plot, and good enough acting to make people want to see it numerous times. Under the average category, would be movies with plots that somewhat capture the viewer’s attention, and generally only average acting. Finally, movies under the inadequate category would be movies that are a complete letdown. A movie with a bad plot and horrible acting, or one with a disappointing recreation of a popular novel, would be considered inadequate.

My idea for the assigned classification essay is to classify Washington D.C. buraeucrats according to their effectiveness and overall job performance. The law-makers will be partitioned into one of three catagories: Incredible, Influential, Ignoramus. This country is in a time of desperation. Americans need to start assesing and critically examine our elected officials in Washington D.C. Too often, we are electing people that are not beneficial to the continuation and prosperity of our country. We need an abundance of Incredible politicians who understand policy making and are coherent enough to understand the effects of their decision making. We need to oust ignoramuses from Washington because they are a nuisance and are detrimental to our nation's success. Lastly, we should discover our purely influential bureacrats. Influentials have the capacity for a one sided agende for either good or bad. A change is needed in Washington. We will never change or improve if we continue with our current state of law makers.

My thoughts on this essay were to start with something I was very familiar with. I ended up deciding to classify country songs. The five major groups i found that the songs fall into are as follows: songs about love/relationships, songs about revenge/rebellion, songs about break-ups, songs about family(including pets)/family values, and songs about drinking/getting drunk. These categories seem to house not only country songs but most songs in general. By knowing what kind of songs they are listening to most often, one can gain an invaluable insight into how they may currently be feeling. Most often people express their emotions through the music that they listen to, perhaps not intentionally, but it does happen.

My idea for my classification essay so far is the classification of the very stylish V-neck. My thesis statement will read; “There are several cuts of V-necks, each reflecting on the person wearing it; knowing the difference can help convey the right message to those around you”. The short V-neck brands the wear with the words unconfident or timid if you will. The average V-neck reflects on the wearer of the shirt, a sense of comfort with one’s own body. Finally the deep V-neck portrays a sense of complete confidence with one’s body almost as if daring those around him to wear a deeper V-neck.

The only idea for my classification essay so far that I think is worthwhile describes the contradicting attitudes of people toward drinking water. In my thesis statement I wrote that the three attitudes are desperate, dismissive, and dietary. The desperate attitude refers to the times when one has been outside on his feet all day and the first thing he does when he comes inside is drink as much water as his stomach will hold because in that moment it tastes so delicious. The dismissive attitude is the opposite. When one is not dehydrated the idea of drinking water seems so unappealing that he would rather drink anything else. The final attitude occurs when one is dieting or is drinking water to rebel against pop, for example. I picked this topic because it is relatable and I have personal experience with it, but I am concerned how I will write a thousand words about it.

Initially I wanted to use superheroes as the topic of my classification essay. Unfortunately many people also thought this was a good idea. I wanted to show how superheroes can be classified according to how the public perceives them as a person. Soon enough I found that idea to be too unoriginal so I decided to go with villains. Villains are at about the same difficulty level as superheroes but with Villains I am going to focus on their motives for the crimes they commit. The classification groups that I am going to use are as follows: money, world changer, world conqueror, and world destroyer.

For my essay, I plan to classify different types of jeans and analyze their buyers. The three different types of jeans are designer jeans, name brand jeans, and plain jeans. The buyers of each type are making a statement by which pair of jeans they decide to buy. For example, a buyer of designer jeans may be trying to impress their peers, or may only want a nice pair of jeans to own. Someone who decides to purchase name brand jeans, such as Maurices or Levi’s, may not be able to afford the designer jeans. They also may not want to be the same as everyone else, so they are not looking for a pair of jeans to impress, but to merely wear. Plain jeans, such as ones you could find at Walmart or other similar stores may be worn by someone who does not care about appearances and would much rather buy a pair of jeans for their comfort. They may also simply not have enough money to afford a different type of jeans. Knowing the reason behind buying a pair of jeans can help to decide the kind of person that is wearing them.

For my essay, I chose to focus on the different positions on a softball field. When someone is looking at a softball diamond, they initially separate the positions into infield and outfield. The positions can be separated into the corners, middle infielders, and outfielders. The outfield consists of left field, right field, and center field, while the infield gets split into two sections. The corners are third base and first base. These positions play closer to home plate than the second baseman and the shortstop, and therefore come up to play the bunts and slap hits. The shortstop, second baseman, pitcher, and catcher could all be considered middle infielders since their positions are located in the middle of the infield.

For my classification essay, I plan to classify different types of hairstyles. The three groups are athletic, casual, and fancy up-do. Someone can tell the personality of each individual by the way their hair is styled. For example, the athletic hairstyle would be described as a ponytail or bun. These individuals are more likely to be in sports or different activities. The casual hair do is described as being simple or natural. Individuals with casual hair typically aren’t trying to impress anyone, or they’re just trying to be comfortable. The fancy up-do is for someone who cares about their appearance and likes to dress up in fancy clothes. In my essay, I plan to go more into depth about each classification of hairstyle.

In my classification essay I was originally going to be classifying soccer players by their positions and what each position demands from the player. But now, I am beginning to think that the positions alone are too vague. I am going to choose one position and break it down into three different sub categories. The position that I am using was a fairly easy choice for me. I’m going to break down the position of goalkeeper, mainly because it is the position that I play and the one that I am most educated and comfortable with. The three categories I am going to use are aggressive and relaxed, but I haven’t completely decided on my third category yet.
My initial idea for the classification essay was to explain workouts in three categories. I chose to classify the workouts into; the partier, the competitor, and the self-therapist. People work out for many reasons, I think those reasons can be defined in the type of workout you choose to do. If you are an avid runner or like to lift, you are competitive. You like to know who the winner of the activity is. If you like yoga, you go for more of a calming and reflective experience, a sort of therapy session. If you go to zumba you are there for the party. Zumba is supposed to fun, upbeat and social. Knowing what kind of experience you are looking for, would help you pick the best work out for you at the moment.

At first, I had no idea what topic I wanted to write a classification essay on. I wanted to write an essay on something I am passionate about, so snowboarding came to mind. I considered this for a moment before realizing that this idea may be somewhat difficult to expand on. So instead of classifying snowboarders, I decided to classify athletes, a much broader topic. I classified the athletes into three groups: amateur, professional, and recreational. In my essay, I will compare these three groups under the principles of age and goals. I hope to educate my readers about types of athletic careers so that they may better understand what type of athlete they are.

My classification essay will be categorizing drum line members according to their confidence; the timid, the overconfident, and the balanced. The timid player is quiet and submissive, not knowing whether they should play or not. The overconfident player is loud and does not listen to advice from peers. He will try to force his self-assumed authority on other members. The balanced player will know what authority he has, but not abuse it. Knowing what type of drummer you and the people around you are will help you become a closer, more skilled drum line. These concepts will apply to your life outside of percussion and ultimately make you more able to learn from peers and grow as a person.

My first idea for the classification essay was to classify fans into four groups based on why they come to baseball games. One group would be the “Diehard” group which included fans that had long relationships with their team. The next group was the “Casual” group. This group of fans came to baseball games not because they like a certain team but they just enjoy baseball. The next group is the “Businessmen” group. The “Businessmen” were there to talk to potential clients and improve work relationships. The last group would be the “Tourist”. The “Tourist” is there because they were told to go there for the experience. In my essay I will delve into more characteristics and why they exhibit them and scenarios that each group encounters.

My current idea for my classification essay is to classify the different types of lies people create based upon their purposes. I have decided to use analogies to represent my ideas. I have chosen a helmet to represent lies that protect oneself. A shield will symbolize lies that protect others, and a sword will depict lies that harm others. Throughout my essay I hope to provide detailed characteristics of each type of lie, and instill deeper insight into my audience about the darker aspects of human nature. I realize that there are many potential complications that could arise as I write my essay including the fact that lies can be much more dynamic than having a single purpose. Still, I hope to create an entertaining, informative, and logical essay, or maybe I just lied and will end up writing about something else.

My initial idea for the classification essay was to classify different types of smiles. I segregated smiles into five different groups: cheerful, cheesy, flirty, annoyed, and the smile with a nod. I will go into detail and explain the differences of each smile. For instance, a cheerful smile is what you portray when you are simply in a cheerful mood. The cheerful smile could also be identified as your normal, everyday smile whereas an annoyed smile is more of a smirk you give to people to show that you do not really care what they are saying. The reason I chose to classify smiles is to challenge people to analyze other peer’s smiles. Then they can determine which smile is being used so they know if what they are saying matters to the other person.

The foundation of my essay is super heroes, but not just the heroes, how they are affected by popular culture. The writers of comic books study carefully the current times to be able to relate to the people they are selling to. This is why we see the characters we do at the times that we see them. I enjoy studying comic books and making these types of connections that not everybody always sees. The connections I am making are the war time heroes during World War II, the 70s African American disco “it’s now cool to be black” culture, the 80s and 90s young and gay empowerment, and the present surge of Latinos. This is a topic I enjoy and will like to write about.

My idea is to classify the different types of throwers based on their reasons for going out to be shot put and discus thrower this was an easy topic because I have observed the different reasons for many years. The four types I have seen are the lifter, throwers, do nothings, and socialites. The lifter is one that goes out for throwing just so they have a reason to be in the weight room every day to train for football. The thrower is the one that is there to do one thing throw and throw far these people tend to be the best actual throwers at competitions because they spent their time learning the more important technique and not just gaining strength. The next group the do nothings do exactly what their name implies they only go out for the sport because they are lazy and their parents forced them to do something athletic. The last kind is the socialite they are there because their friends are and they need a reason to be with each other longer than school provides.

My initial idea for the classification essay is to classify three different types of smart. The first type of smart is the hard worker. This person has a great work ethic and has to have this great work ethic because they don’t necessarily have the gift of natural intelligence. It is great to be classified as a hard worker as it shows passion and dedication which will get you very far in life. Another type of smart is having both some natural intelligence and a pretty good work ethic. This type of person doesn’t have to work as hard as the hard worker type because his natural intelligence makes his work a little easier. The final type of smart is what I like to call “B-Jacks smart.” This type of smart is God-given and whoever is lucky enough to be classified as this type of smart is flat out brilliant. School work is naturally easy for these people.

My initial idea for my Classification essay was to classify current, real-world soccer players. In this day of age we have superstars, the average Joe, and the run-of-the-mill players. I planned on classifying each, and expounding on the characteristics it takes to achieve or be at each level. Soccer is “the World’s sport”, looked up upon by billions of people of many social statuses. To be a “superstar”, one must have a unique set of skills which separate them on the field and show utter dominance on the pitch, whether it be a striker raining shots on the keeper or a midfielder creating exquisite ball movement throughout the game. Your “average Joe” may have some shifty moves and a solid skill set, but he or she may not create the opportunities or have the explosiveness of a superstar. The” run-of-the-mill players” often lack the skills that will set them apart from others on the pitch. He or she may not be able to create consistent opportunities for their team and will most often fall short of the expectations of a true soccer player.

My classification essay will be about movies and how people react to them. They will be divided into the groups of entertained, inspired, bored, and frightened. In the essay I will take different movies and classify them into one of these four groups. A movie in the entertained category is likely going to be a funny or action packed movie. An inspiring movie could be a documentary. A horror movie would be considered frightening. Some people react differently to movies so I will try to get multiple opinions and some movies will fit into more than one category. The way people react to a movie should show what genre it is and what genre the particular person enjoys.

My idea so far for the classification essay is to classify different types of referees that you might find at a soccer game. The three types I have so far are the sleeper, the standard, and the spaz. The sleeper would be the one that has no desire to be at the game and therefore does not make the appropriate calls. The standard would be the ref that makes the right calls at the right times and lastly there is the spaz who gets too whistle happy and decides to make the call every time someone is touched whether it should really be a foul or not.

My initial idea for the classification essay is to classify the personalities of boys. The three different types I will classify are: the jerk, the gentleman and the socially awkward. The jerk thinks only about himself and how situations will increase his power, money and social status. He believes that the way he is presenting himself is the right way and all other males are wrong. The gentleman, of course, is gentle and caring. He prioritizes others needs before himself and carries out those needs with earnest. Then comes the socially awkward. This boy is content with by standing all activities and social gatherings. Girls are the absolute last thing on his mind and are only associated with sweaty palms and fast-paced walking. Unfortunately, we acquire a large population of the jerk personality. All three types can be found where ever you go. I will continue to explain these different types.

My initial idea for the essay is to classify the amount of practice that orchestra players in our school do. Over the past 3 years of being in orchestra class, I’ve learned that some people in our class don’t care to practice at all and simply talk to their friends, some practice simply for a good grade in the class, and a rare few practice because they have a passion for music. The students that don’t practice know they will still receive around a B minus in the class. The ones that practice for a good grade usually receive a low A, and are rewarded a higher chair in the orchestra. Those that put in the hours of practice in orchestra easily get a high A, and are the section leaders of the orchestra.

My initial idea for my Classification essay is to classify the different kinds of people on twitter. A few of the categories I have thought of include: life-spillers, complainers, inspirers, bandwagon, creepers, and comedians. A life-spiller is a tweeter who tweets about every emotion they are feeling throughout the day. Life-spillers share intimate details with anyone who follows them and at times these tweets are excessive. Complainers slightly correlate with the life-spillers. Complainers only tweet negative comments and talk about all the things that go wrong with their life. Those who would like to see opposite attitudes on Twitter are usually the inspirers. The inspirers try to remain positive during difficult times and often tweet motivational quotes. The bandwagon tweeter is one who signs up for an account because everyone else seems to have twitter. This individual usually does not tweet much or log on. Their account just exists. Creepers are closely related to the bandwagon tweeters. They sign up for twitter, follow a bunch of people, and then proceed to stalk them without tweeting themselves. Lastly, the comedians on twitter tweet about random things that offer comic relief and sometimes stir up drama in the twitter world.

My initial idea for my classification essay was to compare musicians. I took the way musicians feel towards their music and how they react to it and put them into three categories. The three types I came up with are the dedicated musicians, the lover musicians, and the forced musicians. I’m still trying to come up with better words to describe these three categories. The dedicated musicians are the ones who live, eat, and sleep their music. Music is their life so to speak. The lover musicians aren’t totally driven in their musical studies but they do like to play and enjoy it. It’s more like a hobby to them than a life style. The forced are the musicians who were either forced by someone to play or feel like they are being forced to play something they really don’t want to. These musicians really don’t like playing their instruments and have no drive to do so.

My initial idea for my classification essay was to classify the types of people that choose to join the military after their high school graduation. I classified them into three different groups: job stability, financing, and family tradition. There are those that join to assure themselves and their future family that they will have a steady job, and the ability to keep their family safe. Many men and women join America’s military after high school in order to pay to further their education or for financial reasons. Lastly there are those that join because it is a family tradition that is expected to be carried out usually by the son(s) in the family.

My initial idea for the essay is to classify the differently parenting approaches. I would use my experiences from my friends and family’s parents to classify into three different ways. The first and most sever parenting approach is the strict parent. Where the parents enforce their rules and limit freedom to the child. The less dramatic approach would be the moderate parent. The type of parent would most likely enforce their rules but let the child have freedom to do most things. The last approach would be the lax parenting style. This is where the parents stay out of their children’s’ life and let them do whatever they wish. They do not enforce their rules and they would rather give their child whatever he or she may want instead of dealing with the arguments the child may bring.

My initial idea for my essay is to classify video gamers into hardcore, casual, inexperienced, and nonexistent. Hardcore people get overly consumed in games and sometimes lose focus on their real lives. They also get angry when things do not go their way or they fail at a game. Casual gamers enjoy gaming and find a happy medium of gaming and handling their life. They can be really into gaming, but know how to control it. There are also inexperienced gamers that have little knowledge of gaming, but still want to enjoy video games. They are newcomers to the gaming universe. Nonexistent gamers have no intention of playing games because they either dislike them or they have no idea that video games exist. Babies would not know about video games, and old people might not embrace technology and therefore not embrace video gaming.

When we first started the classification essay, I had absolutely no idea what to classify. After still not having anything to work with when we wrote our thesis statements, I went to talk to Mr. Christensen after class. He helped me come up the idea to classify DC comics’ villains, as everyone has written about the heroes before. I’m classifying them into three different groups: the ones who use technology and weapons instead of powers, the ones with enhanced abilities, and the ones who must use a certain object to gain their power. My complication for the essay is such villains as Catwoman, who is neither good nor evil, and can be considered both a villain and a hero at times. DC comics are something I enjoy reading, so this classification essay shouldn’t be too hard, and fun to write.

For the classification essay I chose to classify high school relationships. I have three different classes that the couples can be members of. The first class is the hand-holders. These people are not ashamed that they have romantic interest in another person and feel free to let the public know in a subtle, inoffensive way. The second class is the face-suckers. These couples are very liberal about the fact that they are attracted to their significant other and do not hold back physically in public or private. The third and final class of high school relationships is the heterophobics. The definition of the word, ‘heterophobia’ is the fear of the opposite gender. Obviously if an individual is dating the opposite gender they truthfully don’t have this phobia, but it illustrates how they interact with each other in a public setting effectively. These people do not acknowledge the other’s existence what-so-ever in public, other than a few exchanged words on a good day. Typically, the fact that they are even in a romantic relationship is unknown by the majority of the other students.

The idea I have for my classification essay is the types of people you will find in a crowd at a sporting event. The kinds of people I am thinking about classifying are the pear-shaped players, the “actual” head coaches, the head referees, the uneducated, and the obligated. I will go in depth on why I am classifying these people this way and why they not only irritate the people around them but also the real players, coaches, referees, and fans. I will explain why these people act the way they do and the possible reasoning for their actions.

My initial idea for the Classification Essay is to classify the varying texting styles that people possess. Texting has become a very influential part of our everyday lives, and most people participate in the act of texting. Texting has become a language all of its own; its form of communication. Upon realizing that, one can see that there are four types of texters in our fast-paced technological world. This includes: The Overly Emotional, The Ungrammatical, The Perfect Punctuation, and The Text-Savvy. The Overly Emotional Texter would be found to use an unreal amount of “facial expressions” in their text messages. You would find no correct punctuation or grammar while examining The Ungrammatical’s text messages. The Perfect Punctuation will attempt to be absolutely correct with every hit of the ‘send button’. And, finally The Text Savvy will be guilty of using every slang texting term known to man-kind. Placing each individual into one of these categories can be done by examining their use of punctuation, abbreviations, and proper English.

My initial idea for this essay is to write about the different classifications of churchgoers. Waiting for church to start last Sunday I saw numerous categories of people walking in. There are the faithful who choose to sit front and center in order to gain as much experience as possible. The faithful are often those who have attended church services throughout their entire life. There are the guilt ridden who come in and sit towards the back with hopes they will not be picked out of the crowd. The guilt ridden often go to church because they feel they are expected to. There are also the forced who stroll in after their families without a smile on their face. The forced are often teenagers who are required to get up Sunday mornings by their parents to go to church. Because the reasons for attendance, the behavior of the faithful differs greatly from the guilt ridden and the forced.

My initial idea for my essay was to classify the different types of workers there are at any given job. I’d use my experience from my workplace to say that there are about four different categories based on the amount of work they’re willing to do. The first group would be the suck-ups. They do what is expected and more and try to get the boss to notice they did work. The second group would be the leaders that tell other people to do the work and then they try to take the credit. The third group is the listeners who just do the bare minimum by doing whatever they’re told to do. The last group is made up of the people who are only there to make money and just mess around the whole time. In my essay, I will go more in depth about each group as well as how they affect the workplace.

My idea for the classification essay is to do the different types of pass coverages in football. They are rated as passive, aggressive, or vicious. They are rated according to their risk level. I chose this topic because I play football and find it very interesting. Also many people that watch football do not have the slightest clue as to what the different types of pass coverages are. Their risk level is based upon the number of defenders that are blitzing. For instance if you only blitz four then you are in a passive pass coverage compared to blitzing six and being in a vicious pass coverage.

My initial idea for the classification essay was to elaborate on the dynamic of a youth group. There are essentially three types of people who attend church on Wednesday or Sunday evenings. I have divided them up into the attentive, the rowdy, and the forced. Each one represents the characteristics of the people who attend. The attentive person is one who goes to youth group in order to learn and to gain something from the church experience. Rowdiness comes from the kids who just want to play games. Those types of people go to have fun and use youth group as a hang out as opposed to a learning environment. Lastly there is the forced. There are some who are forced to go to their youth group by their parents. These kids show apathy and sometimes distaste for what is going on around them.

My current idea for our classification essay is to classify Major League Baseball stadiums. I feel that this is a fitting topic for me because my dad and I recently concluded our journey to visit and view a game in every MLB ballpark. This essay forces me to critically analyze each structure further than simply deciding which I liked best. I will be dividing the stadiums into three categories based upon the function of all features including and surrounding the field. The ballparks, historical, architecturally inspired, or built to seat as many spectators as possible, all work to accomplish the sole purpose of generating income.

I initially planned on writing about various subgenres of rock music. There are many possibilities, but I limited it to approximately four types of subgenres. One small division of rock is pop rock. This rock focuses more on lyrics than on instrumentations. Another grouping of rock is hard rock. Granted, many rocks are hard, but this type of hard rock involves many loud components: vocals, percussion, and multiple varieties of guitars. The most adored example of rock is the classic rock; many songs in this category are very well-known, heavily sung, widely referred to, etcetera. Classic rock has a balance of instruments and vocals, inducing catchy rhymes and the birth of “air” guitaring. The most difficult of rock subgroups for many people to understand is progressive rock. Progressive rock focuses on deep meanings within the lyrics combined with complicated instrumentations as there are intricate changes in the time signatures and key signatures. I planned on expounding on these four groups and pulling many past and present examples into my essay.

My initial idea for my classification essay is to classify the different jewelry types and how they are worn. My three types I have come up with are gaudy, elegant, and minimal. Gaudy would be wearing too much or too big of jewelry that adds too much to one’s appearance. Elegant would be wearing just enough jewelry to go with the outfit without clashing. Lastly, minimal would be wearing hardly any jewelry. The minimal wearers would maybe have an earring on or one simple ring. I chose this topic to classify because it intrigued me.

My initial idea for the classification essay was to categorize coworkers. While working at Ace for the past year and a half, I have worked beside various types of work ethics. Certain employees tend to have bombastic egos, while others could be labeled as a Debbie Downer or the hard-working Regular Joe. The Bombastic ego tends to be of the male species. No matter what the circumstance, this individual thinks they can out-lift or out-smart you. For example, I was helping a customer find a standard-sized screw, asking what it would be used for or if they needed a certain head (Philips or flat). Male A walked up and asked if I was finding everything alright, even though it was his second week on the job. Needless to say, I was quite peeved. The Debbie Down never wants to be at work. They tend to complain about price changes, their number of hours, or even may become upset if someone comes in 10 minutes before closing time. I simply remind them we close at 8:00 p.m. for a reason. The hard-working Regular Joe stays busy cleaning the bathrooms, fronting shelves, or anything else that needs attention. They know that they are on the clock being paid to help the store, not chat or go onto facebook. I chose this topic, because I spend much time with all three types of these people.

My initial idea was to classify different types of runners, specifically high school students who participate in the sport of cross country. First, there are the dedicated. These are the runners who dedicate hours upon hours of their summer running as a means of training for the upcoming season. These individuals also work to obtain new “PRs” from race to race. Next, there are the apathetic runners. These runners are unconcerned about drastically bettering their abilities, but rather, dedicate their time to accomplishing other tasks. Examples of this can include: seeking new tunnel routes to hide out in, chasing the girls around, or perhaps the people who merely run to eat. Lastly, there are the scared. These are the runners who are simply too scared to quit. They may feel that running is the last “sport” that could fulfill their missing extracurricular. The complexity of the cross country team is what keeps the sport so interesting.

I have recently been contemplating the possibilities of what to classify. Currently I have settled with the classification of television commercials targeted towards men. In recent times, men have been targeted by advertisement in the key areas of sexuality, masculinity, and enhance one’s ability to have fun. I have chosen this subject, for I am the prey of these advertisements lurking in the channels of basic cable. The classes of these commercials do overlap at times like in the instance of beer commercials. In these advertisements men are pictured as bodacious males surrounded by women while watching the big game that weekend. I hope to be one of these righteous men, but without losing all my money on the journey there.

My initial idea for the classification essay is to classify the attendance of fans at a school event. My idea was to break it down into three categories: miniscule, average, and abundant. Miniscule attendances are usually found at events that lack support from our student body. People who attend these events either really like the sport or activity that is held, or they have nothing else to do. Average attendances you’ll usually find at the events that get a decent amount of people, but still could use some more support. These events usually lead more people to go out of their way to go watch. Abundant attendances are found at the major events. The events draw in the most people and many prefer to go to them.

My initial idea for the classification essay is to classify types of golfers on their pace of play. There are slow golfers that play five to six hour rounds. Then there is the average golfer who plays four to five hour rounds, and there is also the fast golfer that plays a 3 hour round.
My second idea is to classify the high school student determined on their dedication in school. The try hard student puts forth their best effort, and achieves a 4.0 grade point average. There is also the smart but lazy student that does not have much determination to study, but for the most part does the work required and gets by with a 3.0 grade point average. Then there is the student that does not care about school at all, and only comes because they have too.
